I am able to do Yoga because of the amazing instruction of Awareness Village's Instructor, Julie Hodges. Awareness Village emphasize, "Yoga for Anyone:" I truely believe this since I started instruction at Awareness Village. I am able to do most of the positions safely. Julie is always helping and observing her students. Julie knowing about my specific disability is very careful in her instruction. Doing Yoga at Awareness village has giving me self worth and confidence in my daily life. Julie has helped me to connect my body with my spirit. The studio is cozy, welcoming and laid back. Floor to ceiling windows offer breathtaking mountain views.The teachers are very knowledgeable and approachable. Gender neutral restrooms, plenty of props and apparel shop. Wanderlust is a sanctuary to practice yoga year round. The teachers are all great and I like that there's a solid diversity in style and intensity of classes. The studio space itself is really large so there's always a spot for you even in the bigger classes. There's also the most class offerings each day here, so its a lot easier to make it work with my schedule, and to feel like you have options for what teacher or style you want to practice each day. The only potential downsides is that all the classes are in a heated room, ranging anywhere from 85-100 degrees depending on the class/teacher (you do get a frozen face towel at the end of class which feels heavenly). I'm not a fan of heat but I just deal with it because otherwise I do love the studio, and know some people would consider a hot studio to be a perk. The other is that there are tons of mirrors all the classes face, and it distracts me if I can see myself (definitely an adjustment coming from a mirror-less studio), but there are a few spots where you can kind of hide out if you aren't into that. Overall the positives are enormous and the downsides are based on my personal preferences. I have been looking for a studio like this for a long time, and would absolutely recommend practicing there! The membership price is hands down the best deal in my opinion, considering all the classes it includes. I once had a class with only me and one other student, and really appreciated that they didn't cancel it just because it was a small class with the 2 of us. Those kinds of things have made me feel that they consistently go the extra mile and are a fantastic & reliable studio.

First, the studio is great - the room is spacious and clean, and they have a lot of great equipment, things my normal barre class doesn't even use (like these little ball weights, long stretchy bands and small stretchy bands). The people are also very welcoming. The class itself was great - as with all the Barre classes I've done, you work abs, seat, thighs and arms and this class did a great job at all of those, the exercises were just slightly different than I'm used to, but it was quick to pick up and was a nice change. Note to those of us who lives in the flatlands....drink plenty of water. You are in the mountains and you'll dehydrate much quicker than you realize. The first time I did this class, it really wiped me out. I realized later it was that I did not drink enough water with my workout. I highly recommend coming to this studio!

I try to attend a class once a week or so and have tried a few different instructors. Claire and Grace are my favorites so far. There's a machine for each person in the class to use and so the classes are small and instructors can help correct form as needed. Classes are only 45 minutes long but you will likely feel sore for a few days after. It's an amazing workout for legs, abs, obliques and buns! Worth a try if you are looking for something new to challenge yourself!
