The catering supposedly only came in one size and was meant to feed 5-6 people. We picked up the catering 20 minutes from ordering. The food was ready when we picked it up. The vegetables were cold as expected and the meat was warm as expected. The amount of food we received was enough to feed seven adults. They were generous with the meat, but they were really salty. There wasn't enough bún to go around. Overall, we appreciated the speed of the meal, but not fan of its taste as everyone in the party thought the meat was way too salty. read more

This was my first time trying Pho Convoy Noodle House a Vietnamese restaurant on Otay Lakes Rd in Chula Vista, CA. I had a craving for Vietnamese Pho. The last time I had Pho soup was 7 years ago when I was living in the east coast. I ordered the large #1 Pho Tai, Nam, Gau, Gan, Sach which translates to Rare steak, flank, brisket, tendon and tripe. This soup did not disappoint!! I added the fresh basil, lemon, house sauce, sriracha, and hoisin sauce. The soup was so delicious!! I also ordered the #18A: shrimp spring rolls also very delicious. My husband wanted a rice plate and got the satay beef and a side of grilled chicken. I opted for the bbq beef banh mi. Looked promising however our meals were underwhelming. Although they were ok in taste, we left feeling full but not satisfied. My banh mi was just ok. It came deconstructed and i thought that was a cute idea to present the food. the beef was just ok. The bbq sauce it comes with was hoisin sauce. I opted not to add it with my sandwich. The baguette didnt have that crisp flavor. it was a big portion but i felt the flavor in everything was just lacking. My husbands meal was just ok for him as well. He usually finishes his meal but left more than half and opted to just take home. Probably a place we wont return to unfortunately. The staff are really nice and helped with whatever questions were asked. It seemed pretty busy on a tuesday night with lots of carry out orders and dining in at 8pm. perfect for a cold day or feeling sick. this is my go to if i don't want to drive far it's nearby my home and it's flavorful and reasonably priced. i always get the #3 chin and sometimes ill get the spring rolls. i also got the thai tea. thai tea is pretty sweet which is my preference. they do get pretty busy on colder or rainy days but you can call in. i never sat down and ate in here just always to go and i haven't had a bad experience. sometimes just a long wait because it's busy but that's all. overall good pho, nothing life changing just my go to for nearby pho. read more

I had brunch here with my friend the other day. I haven't been here in years. The menu seems to be the same, but the food does taste a little different from what I remember. The service was on point, and we stayed talking well past being done with our meal and the staff didn't make us feel rushed at all. I ordered: #25 the Skewered Satay Beef- the meatballs are not as firm as they were in the past, they completely fall apart when you cut them in half. My family and I went here for the first time a couple days ago. Food wasn't too bad, I really enjoyed the Pho (#2 on menu). We also ordered fried egg rolls and some salad with cold noodles that I never had before. It was surprisingly refreshing and yummy. Service was great and the people working there were kind. Our friends invited us for dinner and so we went with 2 more couples. Very close to our home and even though there's other restaurants in the area, the night we went was almost on full capacity. Pho broth is heavy on the fake beef bouillon, sugar, and aniseed. Ordered Banh Hoi Satay and it's supposed to be grilled beef skewer but ended up with meatloaf? Prices are up but the food quality is pretty bad. I also noticed they make you pay gratuity for just a table of 4, which is crazy to me. I really can't believe this place is still open after all of these years. It wasn't good in 2016 and it still certainly isn't good now. We struggle to eat out as an extended family because my mom has a shrimp allergy, and Asian restaurants are usually out since a couple people in our family have sensitivity to MSG. The waiter went out of his way to ensure her meal selection was safe, and walked back to the kitchen to make sure her meal was prepared with allergy precautions. I chose to dine in tonight and ordered my regular 12A - shrimp and pork wontons with egg noodles. The food never misses and is very flavorful! I will say for service, I wished the workers had more help as dinner rush had the person working at the front bouncing from taking orders to giving people their take out meals.
