zero stars. this man took our money and after going through "a hardship" failed to communicate or deliver any of the items signed in our contract. after 1 full year of being ghosted we finally went to his house and demanded footage. he still owes us our 5 minute full movie and we'll likely press charges if he continues to ghost us. we paid $5k for his service and it's not fair if he mismanaged his time and money. read more

I would also give negative stars. We booked Carlos for our wedding in May 2024. He has not delivered our videos to us and has now ghosted us. He also hasn't given us any refund for not doing what was originally contracted to. He said he was going to through a divorce but a decent person would give you a refund. I'm devastated and have no memories to look back to from my wedding. read more

If I could negative stars I would. This videographer not only ghosted my friend and her family, but actively is holding her video and money hostage. My friends dream was to hire Carlos, once she was able to book him, she was ecstatic. As one does, she looked forward to peering back on her big day in the video that she PAID FOR. Shortly after the wedding Carlos stopped responding to my friend, and completely dropped off the radar. After a YEAR the bride finally reached out hoping to resolve this amicably by requesting a partial refund, and raw footage of the day. Not only has he not responded, but has deleted all traces of reviews we have left in order to attract his attention. Through additional investigation we have discovered he has done this to multiple clients. As a result, we are contemplating legal action against this vendor. We hope he does not take advantage of anyone else in this way. Truly heartbroken about the unfolding of these events. read more

I was unsure about whether I wanted a videographer for my wedding or not -- in the end I decided it was a go but it was really an afterthought for me. I am soo soo glad I did it. It's just the best getting to relive the most magical day of your life. I rewatch the videos anytime I am having a bad day and it automatically cheers me up! Carlos did a great job and delivered exactly what I wanted. I had received quotes from many others that were completely outrageous-- and since I was still on the fence about it -- there was no way I was going to shell out ~$10K for a video. Then came Carlos -- I looked at his work online and really liked it - I arranged a phone call and really liked talking with him. Following our chat -- the quote came through and he was VERY reasonable. Picking Carlos as my videographer turned out to be a really good choice. What I liked about him was that he really listened - and trust me -- I was really particular ! He has you fill out a form with style questions - it's a long form and very detailed. Then he interviews you for about an hour. I sent him examples of wedding videos I liked and videos I didn't like. He also had me listen to different music styles and pick a handful of songs I liked. He was easy to work with - got a long with my photographer well (important so they don't step on each other's toes). Frankly - I barely noticed he was at the wedding - which I think is the point. He captured all the right moments. I was really impressed with his work - and for the price! I work with a lot of videographers in my job -- so I know the going rates and he was very affordable and absolutely killed it. The turnaround time for the full length video took the full 6 months. But I am told that is normal by other friends - and I think it's in the contract that he gets you the video within 6 months. He also provides a 60 sec teaser within 10- ish days of the wedding - which was awesome to watch on the honeymoon. I definitely recommend Carlos for your next videography project! read more

My husband and I got married last fall in Carmel and I have always known that getting a videographer was one of my must have vendors. Our wedding planner sent me a couple of videographers and after looking over their websites I fell in love with IZ Cinema's style. We set up an intro call and knew after one conversation we had the right match with Carlos. He answered all of our questions and really made us feel confident that we would get a beautiful video after our wedding. During our wedding Carlos and his assistant Lyric were professional, on time, and easy to be around. Most of the time I didn't even notice them there, but they still managed to get so much footage! 1 week after our wedding we got a highlight reel that we loved with the most perfect song. We were then shocked when ONE MONTH after our wedding we received the full highlight reel with audio from our ceremony and speeches with the song in the background in addition to our full ceremony, first dance, and speeches. I was ready to wait up to 6 months for the video, so we couldn't believe we got it back so fast. Our whole family loves the video and my husband and I love to watch it again and again. I was the mother of the bride, and we financed the October 2019 wedding at the beautiful Sand Rock Farm in Aptos. We planned the wedding for one year and as everyone knows there is an overwhelming number of decisions to be made. My daughter found Carlos and IZ Cinema and we could not have been happier. Carlos' two assistants Austin and Nick worked our wedding and they were fantastic about working alongside our photographer Amber (DeJoy Photography - also highly recommended). As my daughter said, they were great because they were so chill- barely knew they were there a lot of the time. When I married the love of my life, I wanted to be sure to have a great video that we could look back on for years to come. The IZ Cinema team made sure that happened! Austin and Nick worked the cameras on our day and were absolutely fantastic. They're professional, talented, and really know how weddings work. We often say that taking sunset shots with them and our photographer was one of our favorite moments, as we finally got to take a breath. I cannot begin to express how grateful we are to have found Carlos. He was referred to us by our amazing Wedding Planner, Patty Speirs. She gave us (3) different companies to choose from and just based on his website alone, we knew we had made the best decision. I used to work in the film industry (wedding videography in particular) and when my little sister told me she was hiring videographers for her wedding, I HIGHLY advised her against it because it always feels like they are in the way. Being the MOH and very much involved in the wedding, I was surprised to find how distant the crew was throughout the entire day. Not to mention, they were still able to get such incredible footage! Most videographers focus on "getting the shot" rather than letting the moments be more candid, but if you value a high-quality videographer who is non-invasive/observant/equally as personable, this is one of the few good ones out there. Carlos was the videographer for our wedding in Aug 2015. We really enjoyed working with him and would recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent and professional videographer! He was wonderful to work with because of the following: 1) Carlos was great with communication, he was reliable, and he was overall a great guy - He would call, email, and text with responses VERY quickly. This mattered a lot to me when I was looking for wedding vendors. He would call at the promised time and he would show up at the correct location. About 2 weeks before the wedding, we spoke in great detail about the schedule; we had a lot to iron out because he would be filming in 3 different locations (hotel, ceremony, and reception). 4 days before the wedding, we shot a Save the Date video. This was the first time we met him. He went over how to pose, where to stand, what to do, etc. We could tell how passionate he was about his work. We felt very comfortable! 2) His toys - Carlos has A LOT of really neat equipment that he works with. The aerial shots that he acquired were particularly incredible (done with a drone!!!). I don't know the names of all the different ones, but he has mastered when to use each tool for what purpose. 3) Carlos' work is amazing and it speaks for itself! He has a way with music selection. He doesn't pick mainstream top 40 songs. He'll find less known songs that work perfectly with the video. He pieced together a really well done, professional video of our wedding. It captured the emotions throughout the day and turned it into a motion picture. We plan to watch it over and over again. read more

Wedding update* Our wedding day was absolutely amazing! I feel like our wedding video captured all of it! Every time I watch it it bring tears to my eyes. It came out so beautiful! Working with Carlos was so easy, he worked hard to make sure to get the images and parts of the wedding I wanted even though the wedding venue was not easy to navigate. Carlos also worked very well with our photographer making each transition so seamless, whether we were inside or out. Carlos was a pleasure to work with before, during and after the wedding. He was extremely thorough, which is always nice. Beautiful shots, really captured the moment and the highlight reel from my brother's wedding is probably my favorite wedding video of all time. He had a couple spots where he layered the speeches and the music and it really just added to the depth of the video. He used a drone (camera on a helicopter) and did these amazing fly over shots. On top of that, he was friendly with our family and friends, while maintaining his professionalism. He dressed appropriately and truly created a magnificent memory.
