It's hard to find anything bad to say about Ric and Rose! They are a team of two people that manage to capture magical moments while staying almost entirely hidden the majority of the time. Ric and Rose are the dream team! There are no words that can truly express how amazing they are at their jobs and I think part of it is that it isn't a job to them: it is so much more! Our grandparents are 86 and 93 in ages and we know that we wanted to see them in our video and see the familial love that we will forever be able to cherish and remember!!!! On the day, Ric came and dropped Rose off with us ladies and after a big hug, went to the guys getting ready location! Rose was like a fly on the wall, capturing sentimental and amazing moments. I can't tell you how incredibly happy and thankful we were to have found Ric and Rose of Grover Films to capture our wedding day! I have to admit that finding a videographer for our wedding day was nearly the last item on our list of priorities during the planning process. We were almost ok with not having one. Our main hurdle was our budget. We shopped around A LOT trying to look for a videographer that had the style we wanted with pricing that would not break the bank. It was quite a task! But I'm so glad we stuck with it and eventually found Grover Films. We watched every single video that was on their site and loved all of them. Our initial correspondences with Grover Films was to figure out the exact package we'd like for our wedding. I very much appreciated their understanding of our budget and openness to work with us to create a package that worked for us. Then we set a date to meet with Ric and Rose to go over the details of our wedding. They are such a sweet couple and such personable people :) We had quite a long coffee date with Ric and Rose and spoke not only of our wedding but also swapped some travel stories. I personally feel that finding the right wedding videographer is probably one of the more difficult tasks during wedding planning. Well it was difficult for us (just take a look at our wedding prep spreadsheet), until we found Ric and Rose of Grover Films. After reviewing some of their work with outdoor weddings, we knew that they would do an amazing job capturing ours which took place on a rustic ranch in the Santa Cruz mountains. It wasn't until we got to meet them for the first time to go over the details of our wedding and to get to know them better, however, that we thought that these two were really awesome people! Those who are less enthusiastic about hiring a videographer for their wedding might say, "how often will you even watch your wedding video anyway?" Well, if you've had one done by Ric and Rose then you've probably watched it upwards of 50 times in the first 100 days of being married like my wife and I did. They really captured our special day perfectly; evoking the same warm fuzzy feelings and recalling the fondest memories every single time. I have worked with Grover Films on two separate projects, and was equally impressed with the results on both occasions. In the first project, I hired Grove to do some product presentation videos for my company. They lugged in all of their equipment, quickly setup the room with lighting and audio, and spent the entire day with us recording. They were very patient and helpful in guiding us through the process (neither speaker have been recorded before), and took their time to make sure we got the takes that we wanted. Despite the fact that the location was less than ideal - a conference room with harsh lighting and echoing sound - they were able to capture great quality of video and audio. The editing process took a few weeks, and the results were fantastic. Overall, great experience with this type of a project, as we made all of our deadlines and hit our budget. The second project was my wedding, and where Ric and Rose's creativity really shines. I was originally not interested in getting a videographer for the wedding (I am a photo guy myself), but my wife talked me into it and I am so glad that she did, and that we were able to work it into our budget. Prior to the wedding we had a meeting where we all got to know each other, which was a really important part of the process as we approached the wedding day. Ric and Rose really take their time to get to know their clients to make sure that all of the moments, speeches, and all other wedding day intangibles are filmed in a way that truly captures the essence of the day and of the newlywed couple. They spent the entire day with us, from getting ready in the morning through late into the reception to get all the footage they needed. As a result, we got an amazing music video-style clip with the highlights of the big day, and two longer clips with the entire ceremony as well as reception speeches. I can't even imagine how much footage they had to watch to make the summary clip as well as they did - they selected some of the best moments and most meaningful words from that day - I couldn't have picked them better myself. The artistic treatment and the quality of production on both summary and long-form videos is second to none - great effects, shots, transitions, angles - all were extremely well done. Having worked in creative for many years and having seen wildly varying levels of quality from video production companies, I felt a bit uneasy handing over all creative control of production to a vendor, but as it turned out I had nothing to worry about - these guys are highly skilled, creative and professional, and their work shows it. Simply amazing! Right off the bat we knew a videographer was a must for our wedding. These two are the best! Grover films did a four minute highlight video for my wedding in October and it is truly amazing!! I have watched it countless times and have enjoyed sharing it with friends and family. I thought still photographs would have been enough, but what they captured is so different and special, I highly recommend Grover Films! From the moment we first looked at some sample videos for Ric & Rose of Grover Films, we were 100% sure that they would be the best choice for us to capture our wedding day. Every aspect of their videos seemed to be expertly chosen and crafted specifically for that couple. Other videographers seemed to follow a "one size fits all" formula. From our first conversation to final delivery of our wedding highlights video, that was true. Ric & Rose took the time to get to know us as a couple (and we feel we got to know them a bit as well). Ric and Rose created a work of art that we will treasure for a lifetime! My husband and I were really on the fence as to whether we should spend money on videographers. In the past, I was never all that impressed when friends busted out their wedding videos, and we really weren't sure this would be worth it/the best use of our money. In addition, we didn't want a wedding that wasn't 'overproduced', so we thought long and hard before deciding to work with Grover films. From the moment we met Ric and Rose (yes, they drove over to Santa Cruz in the evening to meet us after work!), we knew we were making the right decision. Not only are they two of the nicest people you'll ever meet, they're incredibly professional and knowledgeable - instantly putting us both at ease. What seemed like a casual conversation was actually a skilled interview that translated into a short film that still (4 months later) gives me goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes. I don't know how they did it, but Ric and Rose captured every single important/meaningful moment of our wedding. From the scenery, to the ceremony, our special moments together and the speeches, they captured everything perfectly! Words really cannot express how amazing the video turned out. It also can't go without mention that when my dress clasp ripped, literally moments before we I was supposed to be ready, Rose jumped in (with the incomparable Lindsey Freitas) and sewed me into the dress with a couple expert whips of a needle and thread. I appreciated that they took the time to get to know my wife and me. We started with a couple phone calls followed by an in person lunch. They are so nice! And I believe their work speaks for itself - top quality and FAR superior to anything else out there. Ric and Rose don't just video your wedding ceremony; they make a Sundance-caliber film that tells a story. When we received the final product, we weren't disappointed. Without a doubt, Ric & Rose are the best wedding videographers in the Bay Area. Simply put, Grover Films is AMAZING!! We were so lucky to have them document our wedding at Calistoga Ranch in October of 2015. Our wedding day went by so fast that it was nice to have a video to capture our beautiful day. We searched long and far to find the perfect videographer.... And thankfully we found Ric & Rose. We looked at several clips of wedding videos from other videographers in the Bay Area and were not impressed. We did not want the typical, cheesy wedding video set to some sad Sarah McLachlan song that showed staged shots of the bridal party jumping in the air. We wanted a video that captured our wedding day from start to finish and highlighted the beauty of our ceremony, guests and venue. That's exactly what we got. Ric & Rose are so creative, professional and the sweetest people to work with. After our wedding, we requested to not have any shots of a rude guest surface in our video, done. Rose was sweet enough to help me get in my bridal gown and whipped out a safety pin to save the day when my mother-in-law's dress strap broke during the ceremony. Ric and Rose were simply a delight. They were warm and professional. They knew exactly what to do, where to be, and brought great energy and presence to our big day. I wish there were more stars to give Grover Films. Ric and Rose are an amazing videography team. They were incredibly easy to work with, really fun and sweet and made me laugh when I got nervous heading to our first look. They captured the complete sentiment of our wedding and when I watch our video, it brings me back to the day and I feel like I am experiencing it all over again. People who did not attend our wedding who have watched our video from Grover Films have commented that they felt like they were there and a part of it, and that is all owed to Ric and Rose. They have such an incredible sense of what to capture and how to piece together the story of your special day. We got so much more than we could ever imagine! We absolutely LOVE our video. No only is it evident that Grover Films put in time, energy and talent to make our film, but it is also evident that they put in heart. Our video is so, so well made. Everything-- the music, editing, footage (full ceremony, speeches, dances etc.)-- blew us away. The day of the wedding, it felt like they were part of our family. They brought calm and peace and joy and were so professional and put together. Having Grover Films at our wedding was better than anything we could have ever hoped for or imagined. Many of our guests have already commented that it is the best wedding video they have ever seen. We are so glad to have our special day captured on film in such an evocative way. Our wedding as captured by them is almost better than having lived it on that day!
