This has been a must-stop place for quite some time, and we were finally in the area! The restaurant is conveniently located in the mall next to many anime themed stores. The decorations included so many different anime genres and themes. The tvs in the shop were playing The Apothecary Diaries, which is one of my favorite anime. We arrived during happy hour, and our server let us know that the drinks were on sale and we could also get an appetizer for only $10 with the purchase of an entree. We both ordered mocktails, I got the Jigglypuff (bubblegum lemonade), and my husband ordered the Gastly (purple dragonfruit). They were both super cute and delicious! My husband's was tart, and mine was super sweet - not too sweet though! For our appetizer, we ordered the bulgogi beef tots. I ordered a Korean corn dog and my husband chose the Bebop burger. The tots were even more delicious than we expected! It was probably our favorite thing on the menu. I accidentally ordered the wrong corn dog, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I would've liked. My husband's burger was super delicious and had macaroni and cheese on it. I would definitely get that next time! Our server was the only server that seemed to be working for the entire restaurant. We were there on a weekday, but I still felt bad for them. Our service took a while but we still had fun hanging out together to even really care. They have really yummy food, and they were really accommodating. My oldest says: This is definitely an anime café. They are strongly devoted. They have figurines, posters on the walls, neon signs. They have cocktails, mock tails, and pizzas, named after anime characters and moves. The food was tasty and they were accommodating for her dietary restriction. Next one says: The food was amazing. The bathroom were very well cleaned, which you often don't getting pizza places. This is a very diverse spot, there are people from all kinds of places that come here. The staff here was very nice, accommodating and friendly. They dress really in character. Third one says: She liked the pizza best. She says she loved it. She liked the action figures above the bar. Something about a character in a bunny costume. Youngest says this: I like the sprite and the pizza. The waiter gave her an anime sticker. It's an anime kitty with hearts. My sweetie says not to ask her because she's really into anime like her daughters are. She did like that they had Coca-Cola including Coke zero. She also really liked how the wait staff were friendly and engaging on the kiddos, talk to them and gave them stickers. For my anime loving daughters, I think that coming here is definitely a victory in terms of data points. read more

Overall, 5 stars for food and drink, 0.0 stars for service, and -1 stars for adding a "Large Party" service fee when there were only 2 of us. My son, an anime fan, and I went to Izakaya last Sunday afternoon. We wanted a table, but were told that every table was reserved (even though there were plenty of empty tables). I was pleased that this new and unique restaurant was so popular. We sat at the bar and after 15 minutes flagged down one of the two people tending bar for a menu. After almost 20 minutes after closing our menus, I again flagged down a server to take our order. My son had two exotic looking drinks that he found delicious. Our pizzas were very good, although be careful about the toppings as they can really run up the cost. We saw amazing Korean corn dogs and noodle dishes coming out of the kitchen, so we well be sure to try them next time. I highly recommend examining your check carefully. First of all, cheese for your pizza is $1 extra, shredded chicken is $3 extra. My son's two drinks were $23. I didn't notice the "Large Party" fee of $10.83 until I had already paid the bill. How 2 people constitute a "Large Party" is beyond me. And to add insult to injury, checking out on their app, I was asked to tip, and I did! Mind you, the service was deplorable. If you like anime and are comfortable at anime conventions, you've pretty much just found your dream restaurant. Staff are dressed like they're popping into an anime bar with all of the TVs playing anime and anime-themed drinks as far as the eye can see. (Izakaya is in the mall. There's an external entrance near the furniture store and an entrance inside the mall across from a few nerd-esque stores like FYE). NOTE: Toys/figurines resting above the bar are definitely lewd in nature (super-busty anime characters in vegas showgirl outfits). Not a problem for me, but probably sit away from the bar itself if you're worried about a minor's eyes. Honestly, Izakaya feels like it was crafted more for an 18+ audience, but there were a surprising number of babies in strollers and under-5 kids here with families. PROS: -Pizza was good! Each is a very filling size for a single person (we had to take some home), and they aren't overly baked. A crisp standard crust that wasn't blackened. Toppings were decently plentiful. If you have to take some home, they even have special-printed Izakaya pizza take-home boxes! -Happy hour is a pretty good deal. You have super-cheap "Bud Light"-esque import beers, good discounts on a few select pizzas, and a couple dollars off the cocktails. This would make it pretty economical to pop in here for a lunch. -If you're not into human-ing, they have QR code menus you can order from. QR Code menu also has photos of all of the foods and drinks for visual eaters like me. -Really adorably-garnished drinks and cups. Some thought was really put into the presentation of the drinks here from the names of the drinks to the descriptions to the garnishes and colors inside the unique glasses. -Cocktails and mocktails were delicious too. Average pours, and definitely on the sweeter side (you expected that at an anime bar though). For non-drinkers, Izakaya also has a ton of imported canned drinks (an entire human-height cooler of them) to choose from. They have a lot more complex flavors than the standard "pepsi for the DD". -We didn't sit outside (because we were here for the anime theme), but they do have an outside fenced-in patio that overlooks the parking lot. Not great views, but some umbrellas for covered outdoor time might be nice. CONS: -All the TVs are playing the same anime. Especially since it was muted, I would have loved to see different animes playing on each TV, giving you the opportunity to have a seat closest to something you actively wanted to watch. I think JoJo was on thoroughout our visit. -I got nothing else. We had a great time, and we're looking forward to coming back for another happy hour. read more

What a fun, new establishment in Beavercreek! The restaurant has done its due diligence in creating an anime-filled atmosphere from the drinks to the decor. I went during the grand opening on Friday and there was a crazy long wait time so unfortunately wasn't able to go the first night. The following day, I went earlier and still ended up waiting about little over 3 hrs but at least this time I was expecting that. The pizza being the selling point is misleading because we found the corndogs and appetizers to be much more delicious and fresh. The drinks were hit and miss with the flavoring but they were fun and colorful. They had anime playing on the screens throughout the restaurant and some of the waitresses were dressed as characters! They're still figuring out all the kinks but I'm sure it'll be a great place to hang out soon! read more

A MUST for anime lovers! The food is great; I'd love to see the menu grow to be more than just pizza and corn dogs (takoyaki? Okonomiyaki? Curry?), but their current gimmick is good for having just opened (plus, there is zero risk in the pizza business). The drinks are great: the four of us went, each of us getting two and I think the only one I didn't like was just due to not liking the flavor of orange in general, less so the drink. They're a tad pricy for the amount you get; the sylveon I felt matched its price, while the zero two felt like I was overcharged. The environment was very clean, but seating is very limited; I can see why they struggled during their grand opening. A problem I saw upon arriving at my booked time is... a bar is a place people want to sit around and talk even after food is done. People DON'T want to leave. I felt they could have had tables near the projector screen, but I could also see how that's a problem. I'm curious as to any crowd control practices they have to help with the wait time. Theme wise, it could use some more decor but they have a charming amount as is. It'd be nice to see a points system, since I know their other two stores have it. Service was fantastic. read more

Izakaya is right inside door B of the mall on the front side along Fairfield Rd. You can see it's sign and black wall from the lot. It's an anime themed place, and I have to say, it's cool looking, but it feels rather plain considering resturaunts like this in Japan I've seen online. It's just some anime neon and anime on some tvs. The food is "Korean" themed, but the name and theme are Japanese? My BFF's daughter is big into anime and was crashing over night, so I thought it'd be fun to try the new place. I ended up visiting two days in a row, the second time with another friend and her niece. Service was good and consistant, but much more chatty and friendly second day. I am the not slightest into anime at all, but it certainly didn't seem all that themed, I expected murals and in tons of kitch art and figures etc. But no I think it's rather light. They are missing a big opportunity, there's a empty 6 foot wall near the patio exit, it's just screaming too be a feature selfie wall. Paint an anime mural, the logo, maybe one of those lifesize anime statues from Japan to pose with... Boom free advertising. The theme overall just seems to be a half attempt, weak tea. If you look up these anime theme places in Japan, they are filled to the brim with decor. This is like 5 tvs and six neon signs. The decor is nice, but if you took the neon anime signs out, and put sing roar on tv you'd just think it was a nice bar. Okay, enough of that: THE FOOD The menu is limited. A small a half dozen each of appetizers, personal size pizzas and Korean corn dogs - each with a build your own option. And alcoholic drinks. It's really more of a bar with food, honestly. Service was good, food came out relatively fast. Day 1: We got two diff corndogs each, and split the beef bulgoggi pizza just to try it. Corndogs were why I went and honestly were the stars of the show. The pizza seemed like they didn't drain the bulgoggi enough, the crust looked to be hand stretched and made in house, but the top was kinda on wet side. (Not using a low moisture cheese can do that too), in the end it was merely okay, I'm not prolly going to order it again. The corndogs, if you haven't had one, are the size of a baby's leg and mostly cheese with the bottom interior sometimes being a beef dog/sausage, some are all cheese inside. Outside is breaded in panko, ramen, cubed potato etc. They are CRONCHY! We both got a ramen one, it was filled with cheese and beef dog/sausage. It was my fave. The potato one was cheese only and was heavy but had no dog to support the stick so it was kinda a two hand deal. you had to use two hands. but man was it crunchy. It was suppose d to come with a sweet soy sauce but they were out, so I asked for the sweet chili instead, it worked really nice on it. The signature Corndog, the Izakaya, had fried onions it was really good as well. All in all, I'm not sure was worth $46 for two, before tip. Day 2: I ordered the Ramen and Izakaya corn dogs, my friend ordered a make your own corndog and combined the ramen and the potato with cheese only, brilliant, and the teenager ordered... Pepperoni pizza. Kids. Sigh. Anyway, the pizza had cup pepperoni, very small. But cup. IYKYK. (It didn't look soggy like the day 1 pizza though.) But the star of THIS day was the Crab Rangoon dip. Dear God that could be a nice meal on its own. Topped with sweet chili sauce, and came with crunchy fried wonton wrapper chips. Now I want to make this for my next function. ---- Notice for those with kids: I'm feminist but honestly hard to offend but the anime being played was ... rather adult, enough for me to notice (Skeleton demons squeezing hugeeee bouncing boobs) and a lot of anime I find kinda skews very sexist and adult/smutty) just something to keep in mind if your kids want to go. Food - 3 Star Service - 0 Ambiance - 4 Food was good if limited in choices. Ordered Bulgogi Tots and was disappointed. Tots fell apart and toppings covered maybe 20% of the order. And what was covered was drenched in the sauce. We ordered 3 different pizzas. I had the Spicy Pepperoni and loved it. Wife had Teriyaki Chicken. Meh for her. Son had a custom pizza and they screwed it up so bad. Got the pizza and we realized they had forgotten the Fried Ramen topping. Asked about it and our server brought a small bowl of crushed, dried, stale packaged Raman. WTH? (as we were paying and reviewing the receipt, we also realized they never put the Kewpie sauce on either). The to go sodas in a custom can was pretty cool. Server was a complete loss. Inattentive. Messed up our order. Didn't bring straws. No small plates for the tots. Had to constantly flag down other servers to get what we were missing. More than anything this complete lack of service pissed me off. Table next to us and the same issues with service and left very unhappy. Left $1 tip. Place was very clean and the decorations were very cool. Anime figurines, art and neon really made it an awesome place. 1 step above a "1 and done." I may try it again but going to wait a few months to see if they can pull their heads out of the arses and figure out how to actually run a restaurant first. read more

First time to Izakaya was amazing! Had the bulgogi tots, and the chicken and rice bowl with spicy mayo. My wife had the tots and the ramen corn dog. I also had a spirit bomb. Everything was fresh and excellent. The tots were by far my favorite. Love the atmosphere and the service was awesome! Our server said she was by herself but I would have never guessed it. Food is alright, corn dogs are definitely the star of the show, pizza is alright but feels just average at best. The ambiance is great for anime lovers, and the service for us the two times we've been has been great. My big complaint is the menus have so many drinks they no longer offer. I tried ordering 4 DIFFERENT drinks on the menu provided to me, and each time was told they no longer carry it, despite it being on the menu both the first time we went, and then second time we went months later. After that I got pretty annoyed and got water instead. I'm not sure why they're providing customers with menus that advertise drinks they no longer carry. More variety and accurate menus would be nice. We will go back for the experience and hope they improve! read more

Oh boy, where to begin... So, for context I live like 30 minutes SouthEast of Downtown Columbus just outside of Newark Ohio (so this place is almost an hour and a half out of my way). I had heard about this place on FaceBook and had been looking forward to checking it out. Me and a bunch of friends were on our way home from a long day out of state and I had told them about this place. We noticed a sign on the door saying they were closing at 8:30, ok, fine... except the guy at the door said they would be denying new customers after 7 for some event. The sign on the door didn't have that information anywhere on it and the only post about their hours was the post literally done the day prior. I dug deeper and there was 1 literal post saying "We will be closing our doors at 7 on this particular Saturday due to Anime Day", no follow up posts, nowhere was it mentioned outside of the one the post they had put out saying "Our restaurant officially closes at 8:30 but we will be shutting doors at 7". From what I saw on the inside it's literally just a typical bar, nothing special, the only thing I'd call anime about it is their menu and the fact they had anime on their TV. The menu really isn't anything to write home about either, most of their menu being stuff you can easily pull out of your store freezer isle and the cocktails are really dumb meme drinks a quick google search can pull up, will not be making the mistake to try here again read more
