Saw the commercial on TV and knew I needed to try this place. I love Reuben's and I'm pretty sure I just ate the best Reuben in the world! Pickles were delicious, coleslaw was great & the potato pancake was to die for. I'm sad I only got a half instead of a full. Will be back to try Matzo ball soup (only served on friday), so excited for that! The service was great as well! Just my luck! I live in California, but come to Cincinnati often, and enjoy a great Izzys sandwich when I visit. This time, especially after Thanksgiving and being turkey'd out, I was really looking forward to a good corned beef and pastrami sandwich, the New Yorker. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly as usual, and I walked out the door with my to-go order with a smile on my face, and anticipation of a good old New York corned beef and pastrami. When I got back to my room, what I found in my sandwich was a few slices of pastrami, and a big old pile of...TURKEY! I don't believe they even have a sandwich on the menu with this combination, unless you're ordering a build your own sandwich. I had very specifically said the New Yorker when I ordered. I work as an Independent Living specialist for the disabled, so when I go into an establishment, my accessibility radar is always on. This restaurant is quite accessible for wheelchairs and those who have mobility issues and when I noticed a small problem for mobility in the rest rooms, the staff were not only happy to make the adjustment but thanked me for bringing it to their attention so that they could better serve their customers. Everything we ordered was delicious, which was surprising to me. The inside of the restaurant has a fast food feel. That isn't necessarily a problem, however, I believe it should be reflected in the prices. For a very basic lunch, I would rather spend $10/person sitting in a comfortable booth. If corned beef is what you're craving, definitely give it a try, but I would suggest ordering it to go. read more

We were very pleased with our first experience at Izzy's. I had the daily special with the 1/2 "Izzy's Famous Reuben", beef barley soup, and a potato cake. My wife had the 1/2 "Izzy's Famous Reuben" and a potato cake. My mom had 1/2 Pastrami Reuben on a pretzel roll, sweet and sour cabbage soup, with a potato cake. Dad had the classic Pastrami and a potato cake. The meal came fast and was delivered with a pint of awesome classic garlic dill pickle slices by a very helpful and courteous waitress. Had not been here in a while, sure forgot what I missed. I took my girlfriend Toey for a quick cheap lunch. I ordered The Ruben whole sandwich and potato pancake. We split the lunch, which was perfect for us. The Ruben sandwich first comes with rye bread with sauerkraut, secret sauce and Ruben meat...it was awesome and the pickles on the side...OMG was great. I have been to quite a few Izzy's locations around the tristate but today I was in the Florence area and decided to stop here for lunch. When we walked in the manager greeted us with a smile, and took us to our table. I got a Reuben and my friend got a Goetta Reuben and it was amazing! Our server Jamie was attentive and super friendly. It was fairly busy while we were there and I still saw the manager out bussing tables and ringing people out. Like I said I have been to many Izzy's around town but this is by far has the best food and the best people! read more

This is not your parents' Izzys. It's really a sit-down sports bar serving overpriced deli sandwiches. I wasn't at all impressed. The ruben sandwich wasn't as good as I had remembered of other Izzy's restaraunts. They charge extra for cheese, pickles, etc, but have containers of pickle slices and kraut on each table...go figure. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon! read more

Izzy's has the market on amazing reuben sandwiches and sinfully delicious potato pancakes. But they also have other delicious items that are made in-house. Their beef barley and chicken noodle soups are excellent. I also enjoy their potato salad and reuben salad. But for me, the real highlight of Izzy's is the PICKLES! Izzy's pickles are the BEST pickles anywhere!!! I'm a huge pickle fan and love to try different types of dill pickles. Izzy's pickles are just the right balance of sour and dill, but not garlicky at all (a great thing in my opinion). Seriously, I have at least 2 jars of their pickles in my home fridge at all times. A tip: Izzy's pickle juice is also great to use in Bloody Mary's and Dirty Martinis. read more

I was always meh about Izzys but this one for some reason makes me crave it. The employees are always nice and friendly which is great. It does NOT have a Drive thru though it looks like it does. The drive thru is actually Starbucks. read more

We stopped here on our way to a resort in Indiana. I'm a huge fan of corned beef, and the sandwich was delicious! Very juicy and flavorful as corned beef should be. The pasta salad was very bland-- would not get that side again. But the portions were hearty and the main dish was off the hook! read more

I ordered the Signature sandwich, the Rueben. The topping and meat were satisfying, but the bread was some horrific off-brand, Wonder Bread Rye. and destroy it by placing it between to slices of no name ry. I get the feeling the owner might show up to clear out the register. read more

My daughter and I stopped by this location to order a takeout. We ordered 3 sandwiches, soup and carrot cake. They had one person taking orders and one person preparing the food. The person preparing the food was very overwhelmed and had a hard time keeping up. We sat at the counter and watched as the food was being prepared and had to remind her to put cheese, lettuce and tomato on one sandwich. They forgot the soup, so I had to remind them and they left out the pickles altogether. That's the one thing my son-in-law was looking forward to. The potato pancakes had been sitting on the shelf so long they were cold and soggy. My soup was also cold. I normally order from the West Chester, Ohio location and they are always right on it and my food is prepared quickly and is fresh. I was visiting my daughter in Florence, so we decided to try this location. I was very disappointed with this Izzy's location. I probably won't go back. read more

READ UNTIL THE END. Great convenient spot for a quick bite. Nothing here is healthy but you would know this, it's a pastrami spot known for their Ruebens. Everything I have had here tastes awesome. The employees are always so friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is with the pickles. You get served a small bowl of pickles when you eat-in. Unfortunately, if you do not finish the huge amount of pickles, they are recycled to the next diner. How gross! If it wasn't for this, they would get 5 Stars. So eat here, but beware the already fingered pickles. read more

Since the Izzy's in Covington closed (sad face), this is now my local Izzy's location. That's not a bad thing, because the service here is better than it was at the Covington location, and the parking situation is eleventy billion times better! Usually when I come to Izzy's, I get the standard Reuben or the cod Reuben (both amazing), but this last time, I decided on the pastrami Reuben. How have I not ordered this before? It's like a regular Reuben, but way better. Pretzel roll instead of rye bread? Yes, please! Gulden's spicy brown mustard instead of thousand island? MmmHmm! Pastrami instead of corned beef? Checkmate! This is a must try sandwich. It may change your life, seriously. Of course it comes with Izzy's famous pickles and a potato pancake. The pickles are great, and this is the only place where I eat them. The potato pancakes can be hit or miss. Sometimes they are a little chewy, but both times I've been to this location, they've been extremely fresh and crispy. Be sure to douse it in spicy brown mustard. Come check this place out, and don't forget about the pastrami Reuben! read more

I love a good Reuben, so when I was in this area had to try the place that has "The World's Best Reuben" and I have to say I was not disappointed. It's certainly the best I have had. My wife had a "create your own" sandwich and she said it was "pretty close to a religious experience". Her only complaint: not enough choices of cheese. Visiting from out of town and checked out Izzy's after a long day at the Cincinnati Zoo. So glad we had checked out options online and decided to come here. The corned beef and swiss was awesome on soft rye, LOVED the pickles (nice touch leaving the big container on the table so I could have as many as I wanted!), service was fast and friendly, and the potato pancake was huge and flavorful. Went there for an enjoyable Sat afternoon lunch. However, it was not enjoyable. The place was filthy, the floor was greasy and had food all over it, the tv was blaring so loud it was hard to have a conversation, and the worst part of the day was this: Izzy's has little covered bowls of pickles and kraut on the tables that they leave there all day. So while eating I look over to the table behind my hubby only to watch a guy use his fingernail to remove food from his teeth, then take a pickle right out of the little bowl on the table!!! Wait, it gets worse... the girl that was with him cleaned her fork off in her mouth then took kraut out of the bowl on the table, took a bite and went right back for more!!! I watched as they left, and the waitress cleaned off the table, put the lids on those bowls,stacked them and walked away. In came another couple who sat down and took the lid off the pickles and had some of his own. However, this brave soul used the tongs....GROSS!! I'll never eat there again! read more
