I'll be honest, when I moved to Omaha 11 years ago, the most disappointing aspect food wise was the pizza. There were a couple of decent places but Omaha was not a 'pizza city'. Luckily, alot has changed since then and we are fortunate enough to have some really great pizza, including Izzy's. The pizza here is in the conversation for the best in Omaha, regardless of style. The crust is incredible. It is crispy on the outside but tender and fluffy on the inside. I've only had the Detroit style but they also have a grandma style. They also do take and bakes of the Detroit style and they are fantastic. If you are worried about loss in quality with the take and bake, please don't. They are darn good, too. The location is pretty small, so I would consider this to be a take out place almost exclusively (at least for now). There are a few tables but it's not good for larger groups. I once saw a group of about eight in town for a baseball tournament try to stop in and it wasn't going to work for that. Just something to know. Izzy's is the best of its kind in Omaha and we are lucky to have it. It's worth a trip if you haven't yet tried it. I would almost guarantee that you will love their pizza. read more

Had a chance to try their Millions of Peaches special and it was amazing as always. I have tried their Honeypeno and Miss Mona pizzas previously and both are fantastic. The dough is the winner here...warm and soft on the inside, crispy on the outside *chefs kiss* This is a small location... a couple 2-person tables inside a very small indoor space and then a back patio with picnic tables. I would take it to go or eat out back. We really enjoyed the back area with a couple beers and of course, pizza. This pizza literally changed my life. Every pizza since is what I compare this to. I got the Red Harvest and it was over. I was in love. The crust was crispy and airy. Heard a lot of good things about this pizza place. They were also featured on the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives show so I had to give it a try!! We got all the pizzas that were featured on the show (Red Harvest, Miss Mona, and Honeypeno). We ordered online and they finished exactly on the time that they said they would. Izzy's Pizza absolutely knocked it out of the park. I ordered half Red Harvest and half Veggie Zeppelin, and both were insanely good. The crust was a highlight -- perfectly caramelized edges, light and crispy but still able to hold all the toppings. The vibe inside the shop is funky and fun, even though there is limited seating. Staff was friendly, and service was quick even though the place had a steady crowd. Lucky we got there when we did since they sold out for the night just after 6pm. Izzy's opening a storefront downtown is a game changer for me. I love their pizza so much- some of my favorite in Omaha. There isn't much seating inside (especially in winter when their outdoor seating can't be utilized) so we always order for takeout. If i'm being honest, of my favorite parts is the ranch. Wow, they have good ranch. I love pizza and ranch, so places that have exceptionally good ranch always rank high on my list. We always get the Detroit Style pizza. Oh man.......I've been hearing about this place via friends and social media for a while and I was FINALLY able to try it out a couple weeks ago. I was scrolling through some social media on a brisk Friday morning and boom, I see a post from Izzy's. I wasn't following them at the time so I'm not sure how it popped up in my feed but it had to be fate. I never go out to eat during the week but something was calling me........a delicious, Detroit-style, made to order pizza. I drove to Izzy's, guided by my man Googs......(Google Maps). I park and head inside to place my order. When I walked in, I was greeted with a pleasant 'Hello', which is always nice. After much consideration, I ordered the Red Harvest. It was going to be about 20 minutes until my pizza was ready so I took a nice walk around the neighborhood. I finally got my text so I quickly walked back to Izzy's, grabbed my pizza, and headed back to my house. When I got home, I opened the box and dear God was it beautiful! It could definitely feed two people and it equated to about 1.5 meals for me, which is pretty good since I eat a lot. I was a tad surprised by the price AT FIRST but given the size, amazing quality, how its fresh and made to order, and how the pizza was flipping amazing, it was totally worth it, both for the money and my 25 minute drive. Go Detroit!! I know you produce most of the cars we drive, but I had no idea that your style of pizza was so delicious. It's like a combination of two of the greatest comfort foods in the world; pizza and casseroles! Against my better judgment, I conceded to someone's request to order the Mr Blue Sky. A pie with apples, blue cheese and some other kind of magic. Did not sound appealing, but it was amazing! The second pie was combination of the four food groups. First time there today and wow this place was SO good. It definitely hit the spot and I will be coming back for more as soon as I can. I got the Vanilla Ice with a side of Marinara Sauce. I ate 1/2 with and the other 1/2 without and it really doesn't need the marinara but it's still pretty good. This review is of Izzy's Pizza, the brick and mortar, not the bus. I couldn't find the restaurant location on yelp. Disclaimer: I'm a pizza guy. Don't come at me with "Val's is the best pizza" BS. I won't be gentle with your feelings. The food at Izzy's Pizza is absolutely outstanding! My father and I stopped in just before 6pm on a Friday night. We were greeted right away by friendly staff who took our orders promptly and made suggestions. We ordered the Red Harvest and a Pepperoni. Each pizza had their strengths. The flavor of the Red Harvest was so amazing, complex, beyond anything I've allowed myself to expect (for fear of disappointment) that dare I say it made it hard to get a good night's sleep last night. The interplay of flavors that ranged from sweet to savory and salty to rich made this pizza a masterpiece. This pizza was a work of art (literally, they piped the garlic ricotta on with such love and care). The pepperoni was also fantastic. Much less complex; however, this pie was cooked to absolute perfection. The crust on the bottom was golden and crispy fried bread which was sat upon by a light and airy sponge full of air pockets which were ready to be filled with the delicious juices from the cheese and crispy cupped pepperoni. The ethereal nature of this upper middle crust evoked an emotional response from me. The Red Harvest pie was maybe 3 minutes shy of this perfection. Still amazing but didn't have quite the crispy bottom of the Pepperoni, which is probably good, I may have unalived myself right there if it had. How have we made it this far without discussing the crown?! The beautiful blackened ring of cheese which defines this style of pizza. It's not burnt, it is intentional, and you want it in your mouth. Detroit pizza is better than your favorite type of pizza. Detroit pizza is better than any pizza. The store is very small, but they have a cute little seating area behind the building with some tables and chairs. You can even play some yard games such as cornhole while you wait. If every other restaurant in the state of Nebraska is not on notice, they should be. read more

Pizza never disappoints whether it is Detroit style or grandma (thin) style. I have yet to have a bad piece. My personal favorite is the honeypeno (pepperoni, jalepeno, parmesean, & hot honey), but I don't think you can go wrong with any kind. Always had good service. You can walk in & get grandma slices for lunch. Recommend ordering Detroit style ahead as it takes 20-30min to make! You can watch the pizza being made inside which is very cool! I switched it up and got the Vanilla Ice which don't get me wrong was delicious but was missing the magic so I would recommend a side of sauce if you go that route. Otherwise, stick with anything with the magic red sauce and you'll be walking on sunshine. The staff were friendly as always and were very upfront about the wait time which was amazing. There is very limited seating all together in/out, and limited parking, they are more of an order, pick up, and take, and not eat there! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND ordering before hand even if you want to eat there! It's Detroit style pizza and takes awhile to cook even when they aren't super busy! They do have a liquor license if you stick around and eat there. The pizza is always good, the crust is so soft and crunchy, and all their flavors just go so many in hand together. The prices are more than I'd like to spend on a pizza, so this is a place for a special date night for us, but highly worth it! I'd seen the hype on Izzy's for a while but was never out west to get to their truck. I was happy to learn they'd be getting a brick and mortar location downtown so we had no more excuses! It was Saturday, and remembering their socials all the time that they say they sell out, so we ordered about 6 hours ahead and scheduled our pick up. I think they were sold out of their deep dish by the time I got there so it was a good idea, and definitely would recommend doing so as soon as you've decided you're eating there. The place is tiny but looks like they have some seating outside behind the building, but in general I'd just plan to do takeaway again. I was a few minutes early, and it's set up so you can see the kitchen, which was a fun touch. (It's weird because I went to this building when it was the cat cafe, and ironically the kitchen is where the cat room was. Must have done some good cleaning!) Everyone I encountered while waiting for my order was very pleasant. The kitchen staff also seemed to be running smoothly and were chatting with some regulars while cooking, which made the visit feel more personal. I'd like the preface that I'm usually a thin crust pizza girl. But all the pictures online looked super cheesy and crispy, so I was eager to try it. We got the red harvest pizza, which had pepperoni, bacon, peppadews, garlic ricotta and hot honey. It was worth the hype! The sides of the crust were super crispy and the toppings went perfectly together. The spicier toppings finished with the sweetness of the ricotta was perfect. My only issue with the pizza itself was the bottom was a tad soggy as we took it out of the box and it was overall really messy to eat, but honestly I'm not sure how you'd combat that. The one deep dish was enough for my husband and I to feel satisfied, but if you're hungry, you might need more than just the half per person. I'd recommend Izzy's and we'll definitely be back to try other combos! read more

The crust and the toppings perfectly balanced each other! It was obvious that the sauce was house-made and it was very tasty and not sweet. The toppings were cooked properly and tasted amazing.
