The hubby and I stopped here for lunch. Great sandwiches and soups. A large variety of hot and cold sandwiches. They had wraps as well. Several soups to choose from. The store itself was like stepping back in time to the 1800's. Pretty cool. Very well kept. The service was great. The prices were average. We will definitely be coming back.

There we were trapped on I-90 across the entirety of the desolate plans of Massachusetts. Hours I spent, scouring for a location of eatable decency. Finally as we cross the boarder to the great state of granite it appear. A simple shop that sells a real sandwich. In our time of need it rose to the occasion.

Great staple in North Hampton. Joe's has a variety of house made sandwiches, pasta salads, and local produce. Highly recommend the Italian sub. Super fresh and fast service.

We are from the Midwest, and decided to stop here based on yelp reviews. Food was good, they cut the meat for your sandwich right in front of you. While they are prepping your food, you can walk around and grab your sides and a drink in the convenience store. The staff was so nice, I really liked them. Would recommend a stop here for lunch or for desert.

Website prices are way off! Two small plain skimpy sandwiches cost us nearly $40, not $20. We will never go here again!

The meatball sub is good for the hot sub and their cold Italian is very good and was recommended to me.

What bothered me the most wasn't that she ordered sweet Elsie to write down what I wanted, or that she took pleasure in informing me "it was going to be a while because we have a lot of orders", "just so ya know", as if my ordering a chicken salad and a tuna wrap at their deli was a inconvenience. What was problematic, was after waiting 20 minutes (and filling my carriage while shopping and checking back in), I then witnessed 3 men (who seemed to be regulars) place their order, which was then expedited, and their sandwiches were then handed to them within minutes. When I finally received my 2 sandwiches, I checked to make sure they were what I had ordered and they were missing most of the ingredients that sweet Elsie had so painstakingly transcribed. When I brought it to the brunette's attention that the sandwiches were missing ingredients she wasn't pleased. She grabbed a pad of paper to take my order once again and I informed her she keep her sandwiches and the carriage full of food I had collected while waiting and being passed over for customers who are prioritized. I am fairly certain this is a family owned business. She's probably part owner. She obviously hates her job. It's unfortunate, but I don't have time for this nonsense. I'll spend my money else where. McKinnon's is also very good.

This place is absurdly consistent. The portions are always generous, the quality is never caught lacking, and the dining room is spotless in that reassuring someone actually cares way. The staff (and it's always the same people that are there, which is cool in itself that there's no noticeable turnover in the staff) is friendly without being fake about it... efficient, pleasant, and clearly proud of what they're serving from fryers behind the soda fountains. Let's talk food, because wow. That's why you're reading this. The fried shrimp are so good that my wife (who does not like seafood) actively loves them. That alone should be printed on the menu. I've only known her to eat fried shrimp when the breading weighs more than the shrimp itself (which is not the case here). The tartar sauce is the best in North America. It's my crack. If I drank it through a straw (a bit too thick), that straw would be called a crack pipe. I literally smile writing about this tartar sauce. I will not be taking questions at this time. The "regular" fries are exactly what fries should be: crisp, fluffy, salty perfection. And the onion rings? Peak "fried seafood place" onion rings... golden, crunchy, and unapologetically doing their job, not tempura style, but old school Weathervane "fried seafood style" onion rings that you can sub in instead of fries on plates/boats for a small upcharge. Even the bathrooms are clean, which sounds like a throwaway detail until you realize how rare that is and how much it says about the place. We love it so much that we'll happily drive 40 minutes each way to eat there - in winter - because that's what you do when a place never lets you down. And despite the sign saying Al's Seafood, we tell everyone it's called "Big Al's Seafood" Not because that's the name, but because that's the energy this place has... It's not trendy. It's not trying to reinvent anything. It's just awesome, every single time and honestly, that's harder to pull off than any gimmick. Signing off... keep it up, Big Al.
