This place used to be so good and the last few years it has really declined. The donuts are not good. Not only are they dry, the icing is way too sweet. We bought donuts this morning and some of them just weren't really iced at all. You could tell that they were rushed. Not only that but they were thrown on top of each other and the icing from others melted all over them. There were only a dozen, they didn't need to be stacked. Careless and lazy employees. I've lived many places and tried many donuts. The first time my son in law brought a box of JJ's donuts home I swore not to indulge. So I took just a bite to see how they were. It was a blueberry cake donut, not even one I'd think to be my favorite. The donut was phenomenal!! Not only did I eat that entire donut, I had another!! This is unlike me . I've tried many places, the big well known shops, the best in LA, the best in Portland and so on... I'm telling you, these are the Best! The chocolate bar was done well, but very light on chocolate. The old fashioned was a bit overdone and crunchy and a little light on chocolate. My favorite donut store in the AV! Their maple bars are my favorite, so light and fluffy, not oily and with generous maple frosting. I have tried their white donut with sprinkles, pink donut with sprinkles, orange glazed donuts, and double chocolate with nuts. All have been delicious, my friend said that the double chocolate with nuts was the best she had in a long time. The owner is very nice and they always give me a few extra donut holes in the bag.
