My first time there I told them I was vegan and they went out of their way to provide me with a delicacy of amazing flavors to tantalize my pallet. Our drinks were so unique, the servers were wonderful, and the food was top notch! This place is such a hidden gem and exactly what this town needed. The decor alone is stunning -- dried roses hanging from the ceiling and so many thoughtful little touches that make the whole experience feel special and intentional. We came because of an Instagram ad for our anniversary and weren't disappointed. The ambiance was great--they really nailed the gothic theme, though it still felt like something was missing. The waiters and host were amazing, super kind and accommodating, and the service was perfect. The food was fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious. Definitely get the fermented sourdough bread with the pesto butter--it was delicious. The homemade whipped cream was delicious and the lavender drink was really good too. The wait time was a little long, but the food matched the price. Parking was easy with a big lot. Not the most dairy-free-friendly spot, but I was able to take off most of the cheese. This is technically my first time that I've been here for dining, and it did not disappoint. We went on a weekday for my birthday for dinner and it was great! Service was quick and attentive, the menu was explained in detail and every question was answered. Our food was delicious, my pasta was a little undercooked, but I feel that the service, dark ambience and other food menu items were on par it wasn't anything to worry about. I still ate all my food Initially, you think it's an overrated spot, the wait is long on weekends which is why we weren't able to come last time. Came here with my fiancé for date night. Ever since he found this place I've wanted to go, so we decided date night to celebrate some positive changes in our lives. This place is such an amazing vibe! As a spooky queen myself, I felt right at home. The atmosphere was so chill and welcoming. We got great recommendations on the menu. I went with the lasagna due to the fact that they said that it's usually sold out. We got the hummus and I could eat a bucket of it with that pita bread. I'm craving it now just writing this. Here back at the Ravens Nest for some delicious food. We came on a Thursday night for our friend's birthday. Luckily, for us there was no wait and we were a party of nine. We started off with some drinks and delicious appetizers like meatballs, fries, and various delicious salads. For our main course we ordered pasta with shrimp, steak, pizza, and more. Everything was delicious as usual. I love the Ravens nest and the Gothic vibe that the restaurant has. Plus, they play episodes of the"The Twilight Zone" 24/7. I'm a Twilight Zone fanatic. The rest of the crew I don't have much positive to say. Our waiter came just a couple of times to our table: to get our drinks, food and drop the check. Not once anyone stopped by to ask if we needed anything, or ask how our food was, or any refills (coffee); other tables around did not get the same indifferent treatment. Price: 2 out of 10: like other people have commented, it is absurdly pricey for what it is; specially a drip coffee $10 (supposed to be with "refills") not even their specialty lattes were that expensive. The Raven's Nest was absolutely delicious and the vibe was on point! Every little detail from drinks, food to dessert was stunning. The service was excellent. They only serve brunch on Sundays but have a full menu the rest of the week. We spoke with Lenny (not sure on the spelling, hopefully I didn't butcher it) and he told us about the history of the place and it just made the experience even better. Now when I say the service was excellent I mean it. Like above and beyond. They do not have your every day sodas or iced teas. My son ended up getting hot chocolate, and he asked for whipped cream but they didn't have any. Next thing you know Lenny walks out with a container of something he "just whipped up" since they didn't have whipped cream. He said it was basically like cold foam. It was so good! They also don't typically do desserts on Sunday but when the bestie said it was my birthday and was hoping they had something they made it happen. Creme brulee is my all time favorite and not only did they bring that out but they brought canolis on the house. It's the little extras that they didn't have to do that meant so much! We all ordered something different and not one entree was bad or meh. They were ALL so good! I really can't say enough good things about this place. The French toast was solid, but the pancakes had a lot going on. Good flavor, but the sweetness hits hard enough to make you check your blood sugar out of curiosity. When they first opened, their smoke inveniting safe drink was mind blowing. Their dark menu with goth theme was a true change to the AV. Last we went however, due to liability issues the drink menu changed and environment wasn't so unique. A bit crowded in the front to the bar. Not that it matters you can still fit 5-6 people comfortably. I hope they can transition back to a bit more risky drinks for people like me. read more

The Ravens Nest holds a very special place in my heart. I first heard about it through my mom. She told me that the entire time she was there, all she could think about was me because it matched my aesthetic perfectly. Goth style dining in the AV? Yup. It makes 0 sense, I am not goth, no patron in here was goth, but we were all here and enjoying the moment. The staff are wearing black, they are setting the vibe, the decor is over the top done up and I think I'm in the viper room but it's 11:30am Sunday morning in Quartz Hill. Well they have this down so well that you will acclimate in 45 seconds of walking in the door. This is a fun place. The servers are attentive but busy. The place is busy and people have needs, we're all EMO here so we need attention hahah Food is very bold flavors and top quality ingredients. I'm impressed yet I have to say they are over the top with the amount of spice and flavor, they put lots of spice and sauce and garnish and all that on everything. Balsamic is plentiful so if you don't like that you will not be happy. Rich rich rich flavors and you will have to deal with that! Personally I like bold flavors but I cannot eat like this every day, i would go bonkers. If you live here or travel here and are a fan of Depeche Mode and sunglasses inside just come here and enjoy it. I'm sure they have a few drinks with smoke and stuff too but i didn't try! A barkeep there, dark yet knowing, with foreboding, charm bestowing A hint--my culinary bliss was glowing in squash soup and lobster lore. The food and drinks were great. I ordered the butternut squash pasta they had in the menu. It was an easy substitute from shrimp to chicken. The drink I got for the menu at the time, was the Kiss of Death. I dont usually drink much and am picky with how drinks taste. The drink didn't taste overwhelming with alcohol. The flavors were well balanced out to be able to taste the flavors within the drink and still know it was an alcoholic beverage without each overwhelming each other, compared to other places. The presentation of the drinks are nice, spooky, and witchy. Everyone that I was with, gladly agreed with both the food and drinks. There were 5 of us total. The food of the menu does change so looking up the menu a week or month prior to your visit is not ideal. The service was amazing too. They made sure to patiently give us time for when we still weren't ready to order, without being pushy or suggesting anything without anyone asking, while still not forgetting us and leaving us unattended for too long of a time. If we had a question or needed something, they were nearby. I loved loved the place. Ive been wanting to go to more gothic places and the place was great. The vibes there were amazing too. Raven's Nest Gourmet Gothic is appropriately colored in mostly black & touches of blood red. A large grim reaper scythe planted against a wall, old school Munster video, imperial double headed heraldry, gigantic rosary, and a surreal plethora of black & white traditional wedding photos.   We got there around 6pm Saturday, and it was standing room only filled with families & their young'uns. Nary anyone with black finger nails, dark makeup, massive tattoos, nor body piercings except a ranchero looking dude wearing a Resistol western hat with big ear plugs. As the evening wore on, mostly conventional couples came in as the families filtered out.  "Goth food" here is mainly over the top, elaborately baroque in terms of putting together a lot of ingredients together on one dish. Very busy, and very fatty rich, but the food does work out in its own, inimitable, high cholesterol logic.  1) Excellent, four, large Hokkaidō Scallops & wild mushrooms seared to perfection  came on two, separate rough scallop shells. It's a form of French Coquilles Saint Jacques in heavy Sauce Velouté cream sauce & good dose of very earthy, acidic, forest funky, black truffle oil.   Lenny, our efficient, amiable waiter suggested crispy, toasted baguette slices to sop up the creamy sauce which was a great idea but at $10 for 6 small slIces. Restaurant policy here is sharp in trying to upgrade you.  2) FRA DIAVLO: "Brother Devil" is wide rather al dente originally dried in package Fettuccine/Tagliatelle pasta. Mélange of little chunks of lobster, shrimp, possibly clams & mussels but not in their shell. Rings of canned pickled Jalapeño.  In a light white wine & fresh tomato sauce with a touch of piquancy.  There might be a slug of rich virgin oil oil to thicken the mouthfeel.   3) 22oz BONELESS PRIME RIBEYE: Thick, grilled, boneless, fat marbled slab of medium rare beef which had a aged, beefy flavour. Texture is soft, plush, fatty, almost melt in your mouth.  Garlic whipped butter which quickly melted on the steak. Small nibs of possibly fried, battered onion.  Sauce Demi-Glace which seems enriched with butter. Grilled asparagus spears & firm boiled then grilled fingerling potatoes napped with a soupçon of parmesan & more black truffle oil.    1-3a)  Potion 16 Taurus Cocktail: Tequila, kumquat, mango, lime, spiked seltzer & butterfly pea flower. Slightly smoky, sweet-sour, acidic, touch medicinal bitterness & aromatics. Actual butterfly pea flower even dried is blue but no signs of blueness in the drink since it's mostly orange from the mango & kumquat.  4) FERRERO ROCHER TORTE Chocolate hazelnut, dark chocolate ganache. Hazelnuts are concocted to make flavours mimicking this iconic chocolate confection from Italy. It lacks the crispiness of a Ferrero Rocher bon bon, but good in not being excessively sweet.  The portions here tend to be huge so single diners need to bring plastic containers to take out for lunch the next day. Raven's Nest's decor & take on New American cuisine make for a most interesting dining experience in the high desert of the Antelope Valley.  4 stars read more

This was a hard review to put on here. The food was exceptional, the service was unacceptable. The waitress was great, but the hostess was horrible and truly just made the experience really poor. I'm NOT docking stars for the wait, or how busy it was, this we knew would be the case for Sunday brunch. But a rude hostess, for no apparent reason, is beyond me! Food: we ordered the eggs Benedict with ribeye, poke nachos, wings, breakfast sandwich, and French toast - All of it was AMAZING. It's really saving this review, 5/5. Drinks: a couple of Italian sodas, the matcha flight 100/5 sooooo good, and salted caramel latte 5/5. Would come again for food, but scared of the hostess lol Service: waitress was great, nice, accommodating for a busy brunch day 4/5. Hostess was -10000/5. Rude for no reason, not communicative, she is the first impression of the restaurant, so it really just made the experience weird.
