Was in the area and stopped in for lunch. At first the menu prices looked to be in the high side of Mexican food, but my opinion was changed when the plates came out! Every plate was loaded with enough food for 2 people. And the quality of the food was amazing! Thank you for the great experience and clean dining room to relax and enjoy our lunch.

Solid hole in the wall Mexican place with a friendly staff and a wide variety of options. Their machaca breakfast burrito was tasty and only $10!!

    California Burrito

recently moved to the area tried a couple spots but every since i came to j & j i haven't gone elsewhere i love the california burrito very fresh and good food would recommend.

Ordered the bean burrito and was really disappointed -- it was about 90% tortilla with barely any filling, and somehow cost $10. For that price I expected something substantial, not just a wrap full of air. Definitely not worth it.

Yum! Cabeza burrito - give it a try!

We continue to come here for excellent food. The salsa bar alone is worth the price of admission! There's a new kid on the salsa bar today - habanero! I've always heard this fiery pepper had sweetness and fruity flavors, but I have always been hesitant to try it. I like heat, somewhat, but it has to balance everything else without blowing your palette. This salsa was exceptionally balanced, and I can taste the "fruitiness," and then BAM! My mouth went on fire like a spark turns into a roaring fire! It was fantastic! When my mouth recovered, a few minutes later, I wanted more. I can't believe it! The salsa bar, or better described as a hot sauce bar, has the usual green salsa, but the other two are both roasty and toasty. I don't know the exact names of them, but they're especially yummy! After eating the inside of the taco, I ate just the corn tortillas... Wow! They tasted like they're freshly handmade - so delicious! Oh yeah; you know I'm coming back!

We bought breakfast burritos from 3 different places in the same block J & J was definitely a hands down, the comparison picture speaks for itself but the taste bud was definitely good.

I stumbled upon this place on my way home. It's in the old Rafa's location. For dinner, I order the Adobada Burrito "mojado" or wet with a ladle of red enchiladas sauce right on top for $7.25, plus a dollar more for the sauce. The burrito was good, and so was the red sauce a top, which had a very good robust flavor and a bit of heat as well, but not much. The burrito came with a good amount of tender pork meat, but the meat was missing those traditional adobada flavors and color. It needed more of the red chili mixture, usually dried ancho or guajillo peppers, apple cider vinegar or vinegar, and garlic. I like adding a little Annatto or smoked paprika to aid in developing that deep red orange color and for added flavor. At any rate, it was good burrito and also came with chopped onions, cilantro, and guacamole which all very good. It could of used some tomatoes. The salsa bar rocked! All the salsas were terrific, especially the habanero sauce. It was hot, but packed with flavor. If you want tortilla chips, I think you have to ask for them. I did, and I got some. Good chips! Service was very friendly. The eatery is family owned.

The restaurant is cute and not too noisy. There is an indoor and outdoor area. SERVICE: We have never had a bad service experience at Toasted. Our waitress today in particular was great. My niece wanted a mimosa without alcohol, and she happily accommodated and even suggested adding some soda water to make it more like a mimosa. FOOD & DRINKS: In the many times we have been there, we have had the following; DRINKS: -Mimosa Flight: Too be honest, I did not love the flight. The Prickly Pear was my favorite, but I tend to prefer sweeter drinks, and I would say overall, the cocktails are not super sweet there, which for many people is a plus (just not me). -Lavender Cocktail - Good but also not super sweet -Chai Latte - I have had it hot and iced and liked it both ways FOOD: -Santa Fe Scramble - My favorite dish I have tried to date. Our waitress compared it to tortilla soup in an egg dish, and I would say that's a new perfect description except I think this is way better than tortilla soup -Denver Scramble - Very good and would order again -Breakfast Sammy - Good. A typical breakfast sandwich, so if that's what you're in the mood for, get this. That being said, I wouldn't say there is anything that sets this breakfast sandwich apart from others. -Stuffed French Toast - Good but not my favorite. Would not order again. -Fried Chicken Benny - Good but not a standout that I would order again -Breakfast Quesadilla - Just okay. Nothing was wrong with it, but I would not get it again and would do the Santa Fe Scramble over this. -Sliders - My favorite lunch item. They are the same as the old Sammy's sliders (this location used to be a Sammy's) -Red Velvet Pancakes - Good but very rich -Chocolate Chip Pancakes - Great and very fluffy with excellent texture Overall, even though not every food item or drink is a hit for me personally, that's the case at pretty much any restaurant, and there are some great items and the food, service, and ambiance are great

I think it would've been better with hot honey and syrup on the side? - Again these pancakes are THICK and flavor was "meh" so you prolly won't even finish them all and you might need to ask for extra syrup (like myself) I honestly think the chicken and French toast would've been a better option and I might ask for that accommodation next time if I order the same thing (I prolly won't, I like to try new tings hehe). Overall pretty restaurant with great natural Lighting but it still needs to prove itself in the flavor department.

There were quite a few options so perhaps we just did not pick the best ones. The white bean shakshuka was my favorite, and the mediterranean breakfast was just mediocre. The GOAT sandwich was good, but since the egg is runny, once you start eating it, you can't put it down! The drinks were probably the best part of the meal - the ube matcha was lovely and I only noticed it when someone else ordered it, the orange pineapple kale juice was good as well, although a tad expensive. Normally a flavored mimosa is pretty good, but the guava elderflower mimosa was just okay, not bad, but didn't really hit the spot. Parking unfortunately is mostly street parking and needs to be paid. I'd be okay coming back, but probably not rushing to pick this place over other casual brunch spots. They are definitely busy, even on a weekday morning, so make a reservation if you can.

The ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 (and I'm usually a 5-star/1-star girlie) is that we haven't seen Cari, one of our favorite servers, in either of our last couple of visits. Over a year ago now, Cari stepped UP when I became faint and almost passed out on Nate's front deck. It was a hot day, I am BAD at drinking water but great at sweating; and as I stood up, I turned paper white and the world got fuzzy. Cari swooped in the moment she saw what was happening - making sure I was safely lying down, getting me hand sanitizer for my forehead and a wet cloth for the back of my neck (rapid cooling!), and orange juice for my fluid imbalance. I'm so SO glad Cari was there to take better care of me than I take of myself. I miss our nerdy conversations, and hope she'll be back soon!
