I've always come to this restaurant because the food is good. However, on certain nights they say they only accept cash, and I had a concerning experience: I was charged $60 in cash, but when I asked for a receipt, the total showed $48. Tonight, the same employee again said it was cash only and that the machine was down when I asked why this happens on certain nights. However, he later proceeded to let me pay with a card, which made the situation feel inconsistent and unclear. I recommend being cautious and double-checking your total, especially if paying in cash. The California burrito was excellent-great flavor, decent portion, and I'd definitely order it again. However, for me, salsa is just as important as the burrito itself. A great salsa can make an already good meal exceptional. Unfortunately, the red salsa was a letdown. It tasted like a watered-down tomato sauce with almost no flavor or spice. It lacked the fresh, bold taste I'd expect from a good Mexican r. If they improved the salsa, this place would be an easy 5 stars for me. Looking beyond the obvious that La Posta De Acapulco needs no drive thru. Just to review, it seems to me that their known for popular menu items like: Menudo, Beans, and their famous bacon breakfast burrito with beans. With that said, in this Yelp review I want to highlight that the experience while at La Posta De Acapulco Mexican restaurant was good overall. The seating areas were clean, and the service was good. I discovered this establishment in 2006, and since then, it has become our preferred restaurant for Mexican food. I highly recommend their burritos, as they are exceptional. The salsa is outstanding, and it is evident that they take great pride in their food. Although we have relocated, I frequently place take out orders, and my order is always complete and accurate. I'm going to put in another review for this place being awesome. We went there for breakfast burritos, it is a "hole in the wall" type of place from the exterior but was kept clean on the inside. The crew were very kind, calm, and welcoming, and after we sat down waiting for our burrito order... Free chips and salsa!? What the heck? From a joint like this? It's that little added detail that made it just that one step above a 4-star for us. And the chips and salsa were absolutely delicious as well as our breakfast burritos. The food here is good, I definitely recommend the Guadalajara taco. The taco itself is huge and is similar to a chimichanga or taco salad. The salsa is great, good flavor and a tolerable spice level. The service however brings it down a star. I called ahead for a pick up order and was told it would be ready in 15 mins. When I arrived at the shop to pick up I was told it would be ready in another 5 mins, no issue here but after paying and waiting for a bit I was approached by the cashier and told that my ticket was lost and they would have to remake everything after another 15 mins. A bit inconvenient for a take out order but not a big deal. The next issue was the cashier then said what I initially paid was not the correct amount and I would need to be charged an extra charge for the order I already paid for. I go along with it and add up my item total while waiting and realize there was no mistake and the cashier charged me extra. After some back and forth from the cashier on the additional charge, the manager came out and did the math with me and agreed the math his cashier did was incorrect and refunded me the extra charge. He was apologetic about it so the customer service from him was great. Food here is good, but the cashier I ordered from tonight needs a bit of training to be organized with orders. read more

They messed up the order, subbed a beef taco for an enchilada. Some of the meat in the taco was dry and funky - not the only place that seems to be using string beef past its serving time. The carnitas fries? The fries were good but the pork was not carnitas style - it was more rather fatty pieces that had no skin or cooked texture like carnitas would have. Our favorite items Carne asada burrito add sour cream Chips and hot sauce - they make the chips in house!! They are hot and the perfect crunch!! The breakfast burritos are also delish!!!! There is a shop next door called Saritas. The service is not nearly as good. And the red and green salsa there is NO BUENO!!!!! Nothing compared to La posta!! It comes with your choice of meat or chicken along with sour cream, fries, salsa, and guacamole. As far as the meat, the flavor and seasoning of the meat is perfect, not too salty and not too chewy. The size of the burritos compared to other places doesn't compare, these burritos are huge and delicious! You can always call ahead and place your order to have it ready for pickup too. Great food and amazing customer service! I've lived in Casa de Oro all my life and this place has always been my go to. Very traditional flavor and good portions. I ordered the beef flautas and they were perfect. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside piled with sour cream, cheese, and lettuce with a side of rice and beans. My wife ordered the crunchy beef tacos and they were stuffed with beef and perfectly crunchy. They also have another shop in Santee. We will continue to come back, thank you La Posta! read more

This is my first time reviewing La Posta de Acapulco but have been here many times. The employees are always friendly and the service is quick with HOT food. The Pollo asado Mexican salad is my new go to item to order here. The fried flour tortilla shell is crispy and not sogged with oil, the chicken is juicy and flavorful and the other items-beans, sour cream, pico de gallo, cheese and creama-are plentiful. Since I order to go, I think its good to mention the way this salad is packaged to go is key. The bowl shape remains intact, it's not soggy and keeps the beans and chicken hot. Nice job! I always ask for spicy carrots along with red and green salsa. Other items I've had in past are rolled tacos, beef tacos with sour cream and carne Asada fries. ALL of the items are great. read more

Spring Valley native here I'd like to think I know a little something about Mexican food. I ordered a California Burrito with Pollo Asada. Wish I could say I liked it. I ate half and couldn't imagine eating the rest. My mom warned me not to come here but I gave it a chance. Constructive criticism seasoning or marinating the pollo asada and a nice grill with crispy charred sear would have made it a lot better.
