I specifically asked if an order could be delivered in the morning. I waited for the order to be delivered like a moron, actually believing that it would be done. Totally wasted my day. When questioned about it, they tell me we don't have a driver today and who did you talk to. Very unprofessional. I think they might have ties to Comcast. This place is really great! Stacy was so friendly and helpful, and they were very professional in loading the stone we bought. Ron was so knowledgeable about the kind of plants that would work in a specific area of our yard, and had lots of great ideas (made me wish I had a bigger yard to implement some of them!) Easily my favorite Nursery! The staff will ask you want you need, but do not hover over you. They are super helpful, polite and honest! We personally use Fertilome for our yard and garden, and have never been steered wrong! I love the outline of what you should use over the course of the year, for Fertilome products. They have good firewood as well! Haven't had a bad experience in the three years we've been going. Speaking of the outline, I'll have to go get another as my in laws borrowed ours and accidentally lost it! read more

I have always received excellent customer service from your nursery. However, today was unbelievably bad. I called to ask why my plant that I bought from them (along with hundreds of dollars worth of other plants) had lost all of its leaves and what did I need to do to fix it. The person was helpful at first and consulted someone else. She said it was the soil and I told her that we planted it the way the lady there told us to and bought the soil from you that she told us to plant it in. So, it must be another reason. She said that was the reason so I said then did you sell us the wrong soil?? She kept saying it was the soil so I finally said that she was not listening to what I was saying and I hung up because we were getting no where. She then proceeded to text me 3 times telling how I didn't listen and I was rude. Is that really how you teach your employees to handle customer service??!!! She told me I didn't wait to get another reason but I asked for another reason and she just kept saying it was the soil. I was a Senior Executive for a large retail chain in charge of Customer Service and I would have fired an employee for treating a customer like this - she came after me with her texts after the conversation was over. read more

I visited this place Yesterday with no expectations. I'm a 28 year old looking to learn more about plants but I had no idea where to start. When I walked up I'm sure I looked confused with the overwhelming selection of plants and landscaping materials but in seconds I was greeted with smiles. I felt all the questions I have are silly but they made me feel comfortable asking everything I needed to know about getting plants for my small balcony patio. When I explained where I would be setting up I was instantly educated on citronella and all its natural benefits so now I don't have to RELY on fake citronella candles anymore :) At this point I was completely pumped up and felt full of new knowledge. What impressed me most was how encouraging they are about growing your OWN fresh veggies. Of course I've thought about doing that but didn't know how to achieve that in an apartment without a yard. They simplified this so much and I left with green peppers, banana peppers, and basil with pots for them all. Long story short they are AMAZING! Go here for all your plant needs. Well I visited J&J because of all the great reviews and I must say I was extremely disappointed. I was waiting to be helped with stone forever when finally I just did it myself. When I finally did get helped it was very difficult to understand the guy. I checked out some gravels inside and bought some granite. I was happy to have found what I needed. When the young lady began to ring my order (small cactus, moss rock, potting soil, and 2 yards of granite) she kind of offended me. Her words were" that's all you're getting?" You need this weed tarp or something" I told her I was fine with what I had and she kept on trying to sell me pottery then. I don't mind the sales suggestions but this was too much. She made me feel as if my business wasn't good enough and I felt as if I were being forced to purchase extra items. I feel like it was very rude and unprofessional. In my opinion this place is overpriced and the customer service was just weird. read more

First of all, this review is LONG overdue. My siblings and I live scattered about the U.S., and wanted an anniversary gift for our parents in The Woodlands. Stacy and staff were FANTASTIC! Communicating from California, I was able to work with J&J Nursery to put together a beautiful plant arrangement for our parents, with pictures and correspondence being sent back and forth via the internet. I was presented with multiple choices of beautiful arrangements, all exactly meeting our specifications. We selected, via the internet, the perfect arrangement, were able to make payment over the phone via credit card, and have the lovely potted Plumbago and Vinca's, in a beautiful blue ceramic pot, delivered to our parents the very next day! AND, that's not all, the delivery person took a picture of our parents next to their anniversary gift, and texted it to me!! OVER AND ABOVE. I highly recommend this business, and if I lived in the area, I would be sure to go there for my all my plant/nursery needs. Absolutely love this nursery. I moved here a year ago from 10,000 feet in Colorado. I could tell you everything you need to know about pines and aspens but grass, flowers, shrubs...forget it. My first time in the nursery, I met the owner Stacey and her employee Patty. I started walking around the place and unlike the major home improvement stores that have plenty of gardening items, their flowers, trees and shrubs were in such gorgeous condition. I purchased 2 gorgeous Japanese Yews and so much more that my place over flows after spending several visits, getting loads of wonderful advice and care tips. I came back this Spring for more and was well stocked up with some great shrubs and chicken poop flower growing fertilizer! Patty is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Stacey is enthusiastic, friendly, sweet and you can see they love their gardening world. Their attitude and love of places is catching! I've come back yet again just today 11/13/15 and Stacy helped me formulate a plan for something I've had in my head for awhile. Gorgeous ground cover with a beautiful boulder. Jose was kind enough to actually place the boulder for me. They're a wonderful team there, very helpful, informative, very friendly and they all work very hard. I could go to one of those major DIY stores for cheaper garden items but you get what you pay for and that goes for nursery items and staff. I love these folks and they will always be my first stop in my gardening needs. read more
