I called J&J pumps when I found some sand in my water. They came out and put a camera in my well and told me I needed a new liner for the casing. I also had them put in a new well tank. Twelve thousand dollars later they made the water WORSE. I have clay swamp water now. My water was always clear and tasty no filters no nothing. They put a filter to try to fix the issue. It clogged in less than two weeks. This is NOT a sustainable option. The filter is 50.00. I'm really angry and I feel I have been sold a bunch of stuff I didn't need and didn't work. I will give them a chance to fix this. IF they fix this I will update my review or remove it. I'm updating my review. J&J came out today with a whole crew. They ran the well until it was clear. They changed my filter for free. I had a big issue with clay stirred up in my well. They fixed the issue. Very happy with the service and that they checked on the job they did. read more

J & J Pumps has helped us over the years and has always resolved issues quickly and satisfactorily. Recently we had a more complicated issue which involved the possibility of having to pull the well pump, an expensive undertaking. After the initial technician came out and diagnosed the problem, the company's main guy/trouble shooter and another higher up came out and reviewed the system, adjusting it to try and produce the water we need without the system faulting out. They came at no cost to us. My husband and I finally made the decision to pull the pump, after seeing that we were not succeeding at keeping the pump going. When the pump came out of the shaft, all the workmen immediately saw that it was dead. The bearings were shot and other signs of extreme wear and tear were obvious. But J & J had given the pump every opportunity to perform up to our needs. All the guys who came out, especially the troubleshooter, were top notch. They made sure we understood everything that was going on and all our options. The entire experience was pleasant. Amazing company. read more

I bought a $5k pump. It didn't last a year, so it was still under warranty. They could not get the pump out of the well. They couldn't help me with the faulty pump, so charged me over 5k for another. I wanted a good filtration system, without my permission, they put in a "salt" filtration system. I would have NEVER okayed a salt system. I had no idea it was killing my fruit trees and flowers and spewing salt water backwash on my grapes and oaks all summer. They promised me there is zero salt in my water after filtration. I asked for a hydrometer, which they did not have. I trusted them. Then, I looked it up. That salt system kills plants and is not to be used by people with kidney issues, which I am one. They had no idea about their product, yet they were matter a fact about false information. Now, I need to have that system removed and another one added, as it will be a toxic salt dump at about 35 lbs of salt a month on my property as long as I have it. Plus the cost of adding salt every month. So, in two years I've spent $5k on the first pump, another $5k+ on the second pump. $5,500.00 on a terrible salt filtration system that needs to be replaced with another $5k system and they are condescending to me?? All I ask for is a fair deal. read more

Our well water turned brown on Friday afternoon! I sent a request for an appointment as soon as possible on line! Monday morning I called the office to make sure they would get me an appointment and they said they would be out sometime that morning! The technician called back and was here within 30 minutes! He was very thorough and found our filtration system was failing! He gave us an immediate and very detailed estimate of repairs needed! The technician came back this morning and made the repairs! I would highly recommend J&J Pumps to anyone needing plumbing work or repairs. Their technicians are very professional, knowledgeable, and courteou. They went out of their way to accommodate what we needed. Once they were there one of the tanks in our water filtration system was obsolete and we wanted it updated. I figured they would stop working and come back another time as they didn't have a new tank with them. They arranged to have someone from the shop deliver it to our property and we lived 40 miles from their shop. I am extremely pleased with their work and will use them again. read more

My aunt had a pressure tank fail on her well and the bottom fitting rusted through. I removed the tank and called J&J because I had done work with them in the past. I told them what had happened and to bring a tank and the size. They came out within a couple of hours and replaced the tank and much of the plumbing. They did good work and the tech was a great guy, very nice. But when they presented my aunt with the bill I was floored. It was $2500! They charged $150 to troubleshoot! The tank was disconnected and sitting in the driveway, how much troubleshooting was required? The tank itself was almost $1500! I can buy the same size tank with the same warranty for $500 at multiple places locally! Everything else was expensive but acceptable in my opinion. I called them today and let them know my feelings. While they offered to reduce the bill a small amount, I told them that wasn't what I was calling about. I just wanted to let them know I thought their bill was too high and that if I had to do it over I would've done it myself and that I won't be a future customer. Charging that kind of mark-up on products is ridiculous. If they could reduce the bill after I complained, why charge that much in the first place! I am ok with a business making a profit, but don't charge me three times the retail price! I'm sure there's got to be another company in town that does good work at a reasonable price! read more

I can't say enough good things about these guys. From the beginning, Scott and the gals in the office were really wonderful, friendly and helpful. Chico the owner, is a standup guy and runs a great crew. I have found them to be easy to work with, honest, trustworthy, prompt even though they are busy, and offer a good value. I wish I had found them sooner because I had been referred to another popular operation in town. Unfortunately, I found them to not be totally honest and the job they did was not near what Cyrus and Chico put together for me. The difference between these two businesses is night and day! These guys at J & J are the exact opposite of the other guys! Cyrus out in the shop is very good at what he does. He showed a great deal of pride and skill in creating a custom river pump cover application for irrigating our orchard and garden. He fabbed up an ingenious design that is going to keep the pump much cooler while greatly diminishing the amount of sand or gravel being pulled into the impeller. Absolutely horrible and dishonesty. My home owners association had J&J come out and the guy disabled our system lied about what was wrong. Gave us a highly marked up quote, 35000, to give us something 2x what we needed and replace several perfectly good parts unrelated parts. I got involved caught the guy, in 3 differeent lies, i am a mechanical engineer, so i knew what he was telling me was bs. and ended up using nuehart elecric and got it done for under 12000. In response to Annie; 1 No your electrician stole the fuses to our system when they came out for the free inspection. They were present before he came out an absent after he left. 2 you guys flat out lied about several components and parts and did not fess up till i showed them with my volt meter that they were lying. I still have the old pump if you want to come show me. 3 yes we did change the system, deerman had massivly over sized it for the supply of water we had. That was why we were having problems. I even oked this with the county. despite your people telling me I was wrong, additionally the pvc stuff came with a warranty for longer than the steel pipe had lasted 4 35k was your initial quote, and you did get down to 23k, and offered to match after we had worked a deal with Neuhart. 5 when i called northstate electric, i recall them agreeing with my diagnosis, and the first question they asked when j and j was not on the phone was, so why did you pull a working pump? 6 the real Irony though was J&J learned they were not selling us a pump, threatened to bill us 500$ a day for their guys blocking their truck in with the pipe, J&J needed that truck elsewhere tomorrow. We moved the pipe, the day of told them to move their truck 2 days later when we threatened to have it towed so Nuehart could work that the truck left. The staff at J & J Pumps are so nice! After having a horrible situation with Dearman Pumps (we are taking them to small claims court) we were worried about a new relationship with J & J Pumps. J & J are offering to come and test our well at no cost and to evaluate the situation. As a retired school teacher there are many things I still need to learn about taking care of our pump - as I am on a very tight budget I appreciate J & J understanding that I need to shop around for parts - they help me by identifying whatever it is I may need to replace. I have talked to many different people on the J & J team and have never felt disrespected. Thanks for being so respectful and reassuring. Monday July 6th, 2020 At 2:00pm we noticed our well pump wasn't turning on. We called J&J pumps and by 3:00pm Jason was at our house evaluating the cause. He determined that the pump was fine and we just needed new electrical updates and new tanks. By 4:45pm all work was complete and well pump was back on and working great. What amazing service! Jason went above and beyond. Would highly recommend J&J pumps! On a side note our well pump, tanks and electrical were 15 yrs old all installed by J&J pumps. Well pump is still going strong. J&J helped us put in a solar irrigation pump that no one else could figure out how to do. We liked this system so much that we asked J&J to put in another just like it for our lower field. When Cyrus came out and looked at the project, he said that we didn't need a pump and that gravity flow would be better. He helped us test it, and he was right. This company is great! Quick to respond and very knowledgeable and polite employees. They not only fixed the problem I called them for but checked everything else in the system. Cleaned the filter to the landscaping valves and changed the points on the pressure tank. Not only do I have water again... I have more pressure!!! Yes! My family has relied on J & J Pumps for probably 50 years. This time, water pressure was low from our well. The technician, Jim, sharply dressed, arrived ON TIME, as they have always done. Jim explained all that he was doing as I sat in a lawn chair, offering suggestions about which I knew nothing, but sounding authoritative. Instead of telling me, stuff it old man, he humored me and got the work done. I tested all by throwing wife in the shower to see if she would come out ok. A little disappointed. She came out ok. The guys came out on a Sunday charged me an extra 150$ for that. Then proceeded to try and sell me everything under the sun, some of which was surely not needed. To top it all off, after 3300$ worth of work, they didn't run the dirty water out of my well after replacing the pump. Which in turn caused my toilet to become plugged with sand. Had to get a plumber out to fix that for another 100$. read more

Horrible! I would never recommend J&J pumps to anyone! My family used them and we were over charged, corners were cut, the set up they did doesn't make sense for our property. When I questioned them they said that they are only responsible to get the pressure needed at the well and if I wanted pressure at the house I need to hire a plumber or change the set up that THEY did. They never recommended we change anything. I was talked down to. We regret ever using them. A permit wasn't even pulled on the job! My husband talked to the county and they said it was required. Convenient for them because I'm sure it wouldn't have passed inspection. read more
