We immediately told the waitress to cancel the order but she said "Well, they already started making the order in the back." Like I said she was very standoff-ish, her tone of voice/customer service could definitely use some major improvement. Then this older worker man from the back told her to let us go, then while my family member was paying for the drinks (which totaled $24 dollars for 3 drinks mind you) this other waitress came with cups to go, only because we asked for some, I do wonder if they would have even given us any if we didn't ask for any. And she immediately started gossiping with me and my other family member who were still seated at the booth. She said "See, the Sir doesn't understand that if you come to someone's house there's rules you have to follow, you don't come to someone's house expecting to have your way." I think she believed we were on their side of this situation, and it would have been a decent comparison and argument if we were at a house and not a restaurant. Overall, seems like the type of place to charge you for every little thing.

But, the manager's shocking behavior entirely ruined our experience. As well, the kitchen served a large group incredibly fast. * The Problem: One guest ordered a medium-rare steak that came out completely overcooked. When she asked for a remake, the manager came out and insulted her to her face, told her that if he remade it it would be exactly the same, then sarcastically asked if she "wanted him to slap down a raw steak on her plate." She said it was fine, kept the food, then later left the table and broke into tears in the restroom. * The Confrontation: After dinner, I approached him calmly to offer polite, constructive criticism based on professional customer service experience (worked restaurants for years in a restaurant my family owned) He became fiercely stubborn, denied the insult, and grew so aggressive and volatile that I had to walk away. * The Staff's View: Tellingly, multiple staff members whispered comments to our group about how awful this manager is to work for. It is a shame that a hardworking kitchen and great servers are being weighed down by a manager who lacks basic human decency and conflict-resolution skills. We spent a lot of money to be insulted. Ownership needs to step in immediately.

I came to San Jacinto to my aunt and uncles 50th wedding anniversary. The day before the party we went with 30 people to have dinner at J&J's diner. We had a nice cozy seprate room in the restaurant and everybody ordered different meals from the menue or changed a bit from the menue. The waitress was amazing. She made a lot of notes and absolutely amazingl, they came out 30 minutes later with everybodies order. Nothing was warmed up in the microwave, but everything was fresh made. There was not one mix up with the orders and we were all simply amazed. We all could eat a hot meal at the same time. The service was just outstanding and we all had a great time. I've been a loyal customer of this restaurant for a long time and have always enjoyed the food. However, I want to offer some feedback regarding the service. The young person taking orders with glasses should make an effort to smile, greet customers warmly, and check on them regularly. I initially thought I was the only one who noticed, but the table across from us also voiced similar concerns to another waitress, even suggesting she speak to her co-worker about improving her service. I agree that management should address this issue, as great food alone won't keep customers coming back if the service is lacking. read more

My family and I ate dinner and enjoyed the pleasant ambiance of the restaurant. The waitress we had was also lively and provided great service. The food, however, was less than pleasing. Since a number of different dishes were ordered I was able to gain a better understanding of the food and make well rounded observations. Nothing pleasing here. Most of the items were fairly unhealthy and sodium infested (the mashed potatoes were way too salty!). Much of it was like frozen food that had been thrown in the oven. Definitely diner food at its best - moving on. read more

We work up the street so we eat here at least once a week. I was shocked by how large the meals are and how reasonably priced they are. The food is always very fresh. I tried the turkey sandwich today and it was actually real turkey meat unlike Steves burgers and half the price. We have only gone through the drive thru but I'm sure dining in is just as good. We've been coming to this location for years. It's been a while but we were pleasantly surprised with the new remodeling. Food is still tasting great. The staff is friendly and the service was great.
