My car got stolen and CHP called to get assistance to pick my car up and set it on the otherside of the railroad tracks. first he charges me for an hour that it took him to find my location. i dont like it but I undrrstand it. he tells me 2 hours at 150 an hour is 300.. i dont carry that in my back pocket. so he drops me and my car off at the tow yard. and guess what. the moment he leaves now i have to pay $630 to get my car out for towing one mile and storing it while i get the money.. They are money hungry sharks. with no compassion. i dont wxpect a free service. The people at J&L towing are dishonest. I was told a certain amount for a tow but about a two hour wait. Long story short they change the price when they found out the competitors price and would not honor the original price and started being rude and disrespectful and started snickering. I wouldn't waste your time with dishonest people. I hope they can clean up their act in the future. read more

AAA sent out the most professional, efficient, delightful, reassuring, calming, and fabulous driver ever! Osvaldo (sp), Cottonwood, was my angel on I5, when my car died and started smoking and I was 30 miles south of Redding. In a very stressful time, I had my little dog, had no idea what was wrong, disappointed of this interruption in my vacation. He kept our conversation light, personable and cheery. I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for Josh B. with J & L Towing. We got a flat tire (with no spare) 30 miles outside of Redding, CA. He showed up and loaded my car onto his truck and the adventure began. Trying to find somewhere to fix a "run flat" tire and/or replace it was close to impossible on the Sunday after Veteran's Day holiday. Every place was closed, and he took us to three different places!! We ended up finding a tire shop 65 miles away and he hauled us there, (my sister and I). after my niece got run off the road these guy's where happy to tow her 1999 camero but tell her it wasn't going to cost her for the tow but it would cost her $52 a day for storage and she would not be able remove her brand new stereo. she wasn't offered to tow the car anywhere but to the yard. so now she has to pay 350. for the tow ( which she wasn't supposed to be charged for) and let them keep the car, or she can pay for the tow and storage at a cost of $600.WTF is this??? taking advantage much??? one pissed off Aunt!!!! read more

This company warrants a 00000 (five 0) rating! My AAA company continued to send out this company (5 times). All five times they blew it. The worst was when they left us on the side of the road approx 4 1/2 hours. They kept canceling the call for some moronic reason. The story could go on and on, the worst person to deal with was Sean who kept canceling the calls. I complained to AAA but they still continue to keep them on their list of providers. Needless to say, AAA had to do some serious reimbursement of our cost/damages due to this companies lack of integrity. I not only "Not recommend them I would WARN against them". Scary to think they could be the ones coming to your rescue when you are at your most vulnerable, stuck on the side the road late at night! Here's my recommendation, if you need a tow, put them on your DO NOT CALL list! Being towed is never something you want to deal with but unfortunately it happens. After driving for over 12 hours from Washington (9/20 around 6:30 pm) we were about 2.5 hours from home and our truck started having issues so we pulled over. After my husbands assessment it was decided that we would not be able to drive it the rest of the way and we would need to be towed. I called AAA who dispatched J&L Towing to us. I had to request a truck that would fit my husband and I plus a baby in a car seat and a child in a booster as well. The driver arrived quickly and was very friendly and he was able to accomodate fitting our entire family in the extended cab truck. The truck was clean and new. The driver (I can't remember his name) was very nice and my husband and him had pleasant conversation during the drive. He definitely tried to make the best out of our current situation. Luckily my AAA plan covered the cost of 100 miles but we did have to pay for the remaining 60 miles out of pocket. I did call around before calling AAA to a couple tow companies and received some over the phone quotes and it was still cheaper to use my AAA and pay the 60 miles out of pocket.
