In fact, the dealership told me the service I needed would be $1200. But the exact same service at Advanced Automotive was hundreds of dollars less. And the service was top notch. Recently my car kept giving me the message I needed to "shift to park", and wouldn't let me turn off the car or lock it! I called Advanced Automotive, and they fit me in on a very busy day. They checked for "recalls", and sure enough- my gear shift needed to be removed, cleaned, and reinstalled. That was how I felt with my entire Advanced Automotive experience. My car died, smoking and overheating 30 miles south of Redding. Mary called to confirm AAA had set me up with their shop and they would have a mechanic ready. I explained AAA informed me that tow truck drivers wouldn't, beca of COVId, take passengers. She reassured me I would not be stranded, someone from Advanced Automotive would pick me up If needed. and reassured me I would be taken care of. Made me feel my safety and well being was her priority. When i I got to the shop, Mary greeted me as if we were old friends. Brayden got all the details of my breakdown. He was very kind, re-assuring, positive and upbeat, I told him he would have a hard time topping my opinion of Mary. As her kindness and compassion choked me up. 3 hours later Cody Morelock, Owner, called with the diagnosis/bad news. He thoroughly and slowly explained what had happened. Radiator split, severe overheating, no compression, thermal, transmission damage. It's a 20 year old car. He'd obtained information on parts, costs, and explained to me pros and cons. He explained in all good conscience, he'd advise against repairs because of the magnitude of the repairs, damage, and costs. do not bring your vehicle here! i hate more than anything resorting to this, but its not right and needs to be said! i bought brand new falken tires in march 23', went into advance automotive to get an alignment done april 23', two months later both my front tires were showing thread on the inside. i took my car back into get the alignment redone ( hopefully done right this time ). but they wouldn't compensate me for my brand news tires i just purchased a month before. ( $1075 for those tires ). cody tried working out a deal with me to drive around my car for months to see if the alignment was the problem. haha how is it not the problem on a brand new 22' camry with 4 brand new tires and thread showing on both inner tires. didn't wanna have to resort to a bad review like this but all i wanted was the problem to be fixed and compensate me for my brand new tires that got ruined from their alignment job. i understand stuff happens and fualts are made but as a business owner and well known automotive company in town you think they wouldn't take advantage of the little guy trying to get by. don't be that company..... just do whats right cody and advance automotive! do not take your car here!!!!!!! joke LETS NOT FORGET CODY TELLING ME "I know who writes your paychecks where you work".... I went in to get new rear struts on my mother's Lexus 300. I was quoted $850 by the lady in the front office. Over $1000 if they were the electronic type. She said it was a special dealer item and would have to be ordered from Sacramento. I left in shock (without shocks). Mostly I got tired of being talked down to. I checked around. Everyone has the struts. Autozone, etc. They come assembled in a nice box with new springs and everything. They go for about $58 each. Add $3.00 for the electronic version. (it has a single wire to be plugged in) I looked around town and found a reputable place to do the job for $350 including parts. My advice is to stay far away from Advanced. read more

I live in Sacramento but had recently seen a truck for sale in Redding. Found this shop by chance, they had good reviews so I called them and asked if they could inspect the truck for me before committing to the purchase. I spoke with Cody, the owner. We talked about trucks, specifically diesel trucks, of which I know little about. He spent about 15 minutes with me on the phone. He was friendly and professional, and I found out he owns a family business, which I can relate to. Because of the Covid virus the dealership was unable to deliver the truck. Cody and his crew were nice enough to drive the 5 miles to pick it up (and the 5 miles back to drop it off). As soon as he saw the truck, he called me with the news that this truck just wasn't up to snuff. He hadn't even got her on the rack yet. Shooting black smoke, wouldn't idle right, torn headliner the list just went on. As a courtesy he didn't even charge me for the inspection, which I wasn't expecting but was however grateful. Dealing with Cody, Braiden and Jennifer was seamless. Cody saved me from a terrible purchase. I appreciate these guys. In business it's not ALWAYS about making a buck, sometimes it's about giving back and paying it forward and earning someone's life long business. My dad taught me that. I was initially skeptical of the unanimous 5-star rating this place has. However, one visit dispelled all of my doubt. I had a Subaru with a manual transmission that would not go into gear after starting. I was finally able to get the shifter into gear, but it locked and would not budge. I had some friends help me rock it to get back into neutral. I saw the ratings for Advanced Auto and towed it straight there. The staff immediately got me taken care of, and the mechanic who worked on the car stayed in touch with me throughout the whole process. It took less than 2 days for them to assess and fix the problem completely (I brought my car in unannounced). The transmission fluid was in bad shape and was causing the viscous coupler to bind up. They were able to flush the system twice and get the whole thing running again in less than 48 hours. They only charged me for flushing and replacing transmission fluid. I thought I had blown the transmission or at least the clutch. These guys saved me and had better pricing than anywhere else I checked. read more
