I hired them based on the Yelp reviews to remove the carpet and sofa from my mother's one bedroom apartment. I was not at the appointment but my mother said that they arrived half an hour early, they were professional and they even explained to her that there was some damage to one of her mirrors and it should be removed. Excellent junk removal service! I found J&M on Yelp and e-mailed them for a quote to help me clean some debris and junk from my backyard and received a very prompt response. I sent the owner several photos of the items I needed removed from my house and was sent a very reasonable estimate. I booked their services instantly and was able to schedule a date for the following week. I even added last minute items to the junk pile and asked the owner for a revised quote a few days before the service date. The crew arrived at the specified time and efficiently removed everything and did an amazing clean-up job afterwards. I'm going to be 100% honest. This is the BEST company I've dealt with in a long time. I called John at 9:00 this morning and asked if I could get a quote to remove some trash in my basement. Not being in NYC to arrange this made me a bit Leary. However John arrived at my home about 10 minutes later to meet my 80 year old grandmother to see the items that needed to be removed. John called me back about 10 minutes later and I feel gave me the BEST quote possible. I had a pile of fallen tree branches 5' tall by 6' wide by 22' long in my yard. I texted J&M a photo Friday afternoon, got an estimate within 10 minutes. They could do it next day, but that didn't work for me, so we set up an appointment for Monday afternoon. They texted to confirm their arrival time, texted again when they were 20 minutes away, arrived on time, quickly cut up the branches, and swept up bags and bags of fallen leaves, and loaded everything into their truck. When I asked John whether he knew of anyone who could help me take down 2 tapestries hanging on very high walls (about 20+ feet up), he said he would let me know. After he had hauled away a van full of my junk, he texted me and said that he would come back with his ladder and would take my tapestries down for me. He and Daniel returned the same day, and they took care of my tapestry challenge--I couldn't find anyone for the job. After reading the Yelp reviews, we decided to contact John from J & M Cleanouts to assist in removing furniture and other things from an apartment after an elderly relative passed away. After leaving a message for him, John called back almost immediately and then a couple of hours later we met at the apartment. He reviewed the project and gave me a price on the spot. Since it was a co-op and I needed approval and insurance paperwork from him, it would take a day or so. He got the necessary paperwork to me the following business day and we agreed on a date for the work. He and four of his workers met me right on time, and we came up with a plan based on requirements from the co-op. They got the job done in a few hours and worked hard and quickly throughout the process. He and his workers are polite, friendly and very respectful of what could be a tough and sensitive situation. The final price was what I had been quoted- there were no hidden fees or extras. Lastly, they swept the entire apartment and I was able to turn it over immediately because they left it so clean. Remodeled a hallway and ended up with too many trash bags that the sanitation department, would have no part of. As they were sitting in my front yard and it's the middle of November, I knew I had to get them out before the snow comes and they get buried until spring... but I had no idea how. My wife made all of the arraignments via phone and text. She did so incredibly fast and efficient. She had received a quote within a few minutes that was the best price around.
