IF I/we had to do it all over again, I/we would have had a stick home made in 2013, instead of paying 9% interest for a home that's tiny & uncomfortable . We had good service from Ken our salesman. However, we were stuck with mustard-colored, "Grey Poupon" color outside of our home, that we didn't order. We ordered a light brown. They didn't have it in stock, so just slapped this ugly yellow color on the outside of our home. It's ugly. Also, our carpet is beige, & who orders a beige carpet in OR? Not us! Ken tried to make changes, but the company could have cared less about anything AFTER the final sale, but we got stuck. Our AC unit took a dump 2 years after we moved in (2014), & it was a hassle getting the company to fix it. It was still under warranty. It shouldn't have happened, but the unit was a mid-grade or lower unit. It posed a very big problem for us. Hard wired smoke alarms were OUTDATED before home was finished & set onto our property @ end of '13. Nothing but issues with them for a long while, until we checked the dates on all 5 of them. They had been expired before home was set onto our property. Upon arrival, move-in date, this home looked like a tornado blew through. Many things didn't work & handymen were here every other week for about 1 year. They didn't fix the lighting fixtures in 1 of the bathrooms, & it fell on my head. I wasn't hurt badly, just scraped on left side of face. This was because fixtures weren't screwed in properly. Totally unprofessional & sloppy. Also, all frames on windows on outside had, after 4-5 years, developed mold, bc the frames weren't adhered properly. We paid out over $3,000 to have frames properly adhered, & continue to do so every 2-3 years. This was negligence. It was sloppy, again unprofessional. Ken did what he could. I can't complain. However, I feel we got raked hard with this home, & I can't wait to sell it. I don't want to spend my last years here & I/we want out of Lane County, OR period. In all, I/we appreciate all the help from Ken. He got us out of our Creswell, OR home, to a lot more privacy & outside room, 1.92 acres. It felt great to leave Creswell, the most unfriendly city I've ever lived, to this home in Elmira, OR. It was Ken who made the move happen. read more

I would give zero stars, if possible. Took all my retirement money to buy land and home to enjoy my retirement years. "Move in ready" was a joke. So was "brand new." Didn't realize I was getting a fixer-upper until the house was delivered. Flat paint, primed moldings with nail holes, very little caulking. I have over spray on the outside from another home. I have mold growing inside next to my front door, because they used the wrong caulking outside around the door. Plumbed for dishwasher was a joke, because we had to fix what they installed. Doors weren't leveled. Back door had a gap that rain came through. Sub par linoleum and carpet, cheapest of the cheap. Brought my standard size refrigerator thru the back door, but couldn't get it from utility room to hall because the opening wasn't to code. The frame and insulation seem sound, but their finishers at the factory appear to be high school drop outs. We agreed to fix things, but they wouldn't even compensate us for materials. They are used car salesmen, but with new homes that are more pricey and valuable to the "little people." read more

Two different shades of carpet, cracked walls, cracks in the grout, our wood stove leaks, the list goes on & on & on and they ignore us over and over! Instead of fixing the problems, they totally ignore our requests and continue to brush us off. This is what we get for paying $100,000 cash!?!? after my familys (retired 67 year old parents and my brother and i) home was destroyed by a five foot across oak tree in a storm in the end of december when it was beyond freezing out, we had little to no options. We ended up getting a floor display home from these guys. what a pain in the a$$. the main guy my dad did all the business with tried to scam my dad out of nearly $7000 and would have got away with it had another employee not shown my dad the actual costs of the services and items my dad was charged for. on one occasion after contracts were signed the same guy (whos desk was a pig sty of papers) asked my dad if he could go over all the paperwork pertaining to the deal, he sat there and threw away a huge stack of important papers, we had photographed the important ones thank god. after nearly 5 months of dealing with this bs and living in a old rv in our front yard they finally delivered our house, heres what was wrong with the house itself -deck was two different colors, stairs that they said we had to have built through them are already beginning to come apart, are not built to code, have different rises to each step, and they left the tips of sharp screws sticking through the handrails, yeah i got cut. cracks all over the brick work all around the whole house, no switch to shut off the fan in the ceiling, cheap hardware/faucets the latch for the front door was so screwed up that it wouldn't shut after a week missing trim pieces the lampshade in our dining area is different than the one that was in the home when we bought it, i have a photo of the original that matched the rest of them. and oh so freaking much more!!! HERES THE PART THAT REALLY MAKES ME MAD- we received little card amidst all the other waves of paperwork that stated that we had 30 days from the day we got the card to request a warranty and that it would only be good for 12 months. We had just found out my mother was ill with terminal cancer in the same time period so the one little notice went without the needed attention to get the waranty. BOTTOM LINE- CHEAP CRAP SHADY FINANCIAL PRACTICES TAKES THEIR SWEET TIME TO DO EVERYTHING my mom had to spend months in a rv when she was dieing because these guys were so damn slow at every aspect of this except when it came to taking my dads money. BEWARE BUYERS if this is your last option i feel sorry for you and recommend watching your back and requesting receipts and making copies and taking pics of everything, tape record every conversation with these people! read more

Called by J&M homes earlier today. The place is a shambles and not that appealing. If you're after getting the attention of home buyers, J&M are going the wrong way about everything. The grounds that their homes are located on is rough. The wooden deck around the facility needs replaced. If you're expecting to see fully built homes and them furnished, then you're at the wrong place. Travel a few miles up I-5 to Clayton Homes and it's a totally different world. read more

I am sending this email with great frustration. This has been the most terrible experience with customer service. We started this process with hope and determination. We take full responsibility for our less than desirable credit. We would have appreciated and accepted the fact that you're not able to help us at this time but that has not been the case. Instead we've been given conflicting information and felt like we have been lead to believe that things were moving forward when they haven't progressed any further than soon after our first visit. When we started this process we were given a realtor that never returned emails and a number that never went to voicemail so we were unable to leave a message. On September 26th I faxed information on a property we were and still are interested in. We were given the impression that a contractor would go out to the property and provide a bid. We heard nothing. I emailed lee and discovered that no one had gone out there at all. We were left thinking things were happening. I have never received a call from lee without sending an email. Nothing!! No updates. Yesterday I expected a call after emailing Lori and Lee. Again, nothing. My husband Peter called and left a message for lee. Again nothing. I called lee at 445 before closing time and got the same runaround. No clear answers to my emails!!!!! Never has Lee responded by email. I was told by Lori that Lee would be able to find a contractor to provide a bid for site preparation. He never did. This has been such a disappointing and frustrating process. I've never experienced such horrible customer service. Again we accept responsibility for our less than desirable financial picture but we've been waiting for well over a month and gotten nowhere. How is this possible???? I would like our paperwork ready to be picked up later today so we can move on. read more

Great company! Good sales people & good service. What more can we say?

The worst company I ever used. Kathy contact me saying she had all kind of buyers in August last year. Feb. She has not even tried, do not return calls. Even did not have the courtesy to call to say, she did not want to work with us anymore. Called Monday,its Friday she still has not returned our call. 4 months ago was the last conversation, after bringing us paperwork to sign drunk to where she couldn't stand up straight. Do not use this company. Bad for you ! read more
