Nothing fancy, nothing bougie, it's basically a Filipino version of Japanese yakitori.
Recommended by a family friend, she stated it's one of her favorite places.
Party of 4. It's a no nonsense place, a hole in a wall-ish type of establishment but don't let that deter you from coming through and trying out their goodies. They have plenty to offer: chicken, pork, beef, hotdogs, and then there are the exotic stuff like coagulated blood, chicken heads, livers, isaw, pig ears, etc. So the concept is, you grab a plate, pick what you want to grub and have a seat!
I got about 8 kinds of skewers to try (I know that sounds like a lot, but I meant to share plenty of it with my party, although they all got their own, too.) While waiting for our grilled goodies, we put in orders of rice (because it'd be just impossible to have the protein without carbs.) They also offer unlimited soup (which was sooooooo good, by the way) and helped jump start our appetites.
I watched the lady grill all our goodies and noticed she brushed some liquid seasonings on all of them. Whatever it was truly helped with the overall flavors from each skewer without taking away their main flavors. All of them were grilled to perfection, some with a slight char which somehow elevated the bites. The rice had a perfect fluff, so combining all of that together plus the soup: insert chef's kiss here.
FOOD: 4.
SERVICE: 3. Very little interaction, but average.
VALUE: 5. This is one true cheap eats!
PARKING: Street parking only, but there's a small open area a few feet away where you can park your car away from the speedsters up in this bypass.
OVERALL: 4.
TIP: This place is located at the bypass, so don't drive too fast: you WILL miss it!
We all overstuffed ourselves and sorta food coma'd when we got home. It was well worth it, and I'm absolutely looking forward to coming back for a second (and probably more!) visit. read more
