I received no pre or post progress report. As the one bed Barbra was able to print she was unable to verify the date completed. We had two meetings during this process. At the first meeting, I expected an update on my daughter's progress, but instead the conversation focused on paying for additional services, with no update on how my daughter was doing. At the second meeting, Mrs. Barbra, the owner, threw her hands up and asked why I was there. Once again, I received no update on my daughter's progress. I was also never given the opportunity to speak with the tutor who worked directly with my daughter. Mrs Barbra only wanted to read vague notes. Before I paid, Mrs. Barbra spent a significant amount of time speaking with me on the phone--even on Christmas Eve. She was attentive, friendly, answered my questions, and reassured me about enrolling my daughter. After receiving my payment, however, my experience with the communication and level of attention was noticeably different. I called and emailed multiple times seeking updates after program completion, without receiving a response. It took 2 months to get a meeting with the wonder after my daughter finished. When I requested either an additional seven weeks at no charge so the promised services could be properly completed or a full refund, Mrs. Barbra declined. During that conversation, I experienced eye-rolling, shrugging, exaggerated body language, laughing, and an overall dismissive response. I attempted to speak with two other staff members as well one named Rob, but unfortunately all staff was rude and dismissive. I paid $1,000 expecting measurable information about my daughter's academic progress. Instead, I finished the program without completed testing, measurable results, adequate communication, or a resolution. At this point, I am requesting a full refund. I believe this is a fair and reasonable resolution considering the testing, progress reporting, communication, and follow-up I was promised were not provided. Most disappointing was the way my concerns were handled when I attempted to address these issues directly. I expected a professional conversation and an effort to resolve the situation, not to leave feeling dismissed and degraded.

ZERO STAR STORY -…read more I'm writing this review specifically to warn parents of young children who are considering Kiddie Academy for transportation to and from school. My 4-year-old daughter attended Kiddie Academy for only ONE WEEK, and that one week was enough for me to pull her out. Kiddie Academy was responsible for transporting her to her TK class in the morning and picking her up afterward. I never had concerns with afternoon pickup, but the morning transportation was a completely different story. On her very first day, there was confusion about which school she attended, despite all of her paperwork clearly stating the correct school. Throughout that week, she was also arriving at school 10-15 minutes late. The final straw was when Ms. Mel casually informed me, "We got in trouble this morning because they found your daughter wandering the school campus by herself before she made it to class." When I questioned how that could happen, the explanation I was given was, "We told her to get in line." Ms. Mel also explained that their bus drivers are unable to get off the bus to help young children get to their classes. She is FOUR YEARS OLD. If your transportation policy does not allow your driver to get off the bus, then there should be another procedure in place to ensure a four-year-old is safely transferred into the supervision of school staff. Telling a four-year-old to "get in line" and driving away without confirming that she safely made it where she needed to go was completely unacceptable to me. I pulled her out immediately because I no longer trusted Kiddie Academy to transport her safely. When I raised my concerns with Ms. Nickole, I was also extremely disappointed with how the situation was handled and felt the response and apology were unprofessional and dismissive given the seriousness of what happened. I'm sharing this because other parents deserve to know about my experience before trusting this facility with transportation. My daughter was there for only one week, and that was one week too long. I would never recommend Kiddie Academy to anyone I love or care about, especially if you are relying on them to safely transport a young child. Response to owner: I want to clarify that the complaint being closed as "unsubstantiated" does not change what occurred. That is exactly why I question whether the lack of documentation is designed to protect the children or protect the business. A four-year-old being found wandering a school campus unattended after transportation should have warranted formal documentation and immediate notification to the parent--not a casual comment later. Your response also suggests that young children benefit from "fewer transitions." Kiddie Academy offers transportation to young children. If your transportation procedures cannot safely accommodate a four-year-old, then that service should not be offered to children that age. Responsibility should not be shifted onto parents for utilizing a service your business provides. A licensing investigation resulting in no citation does not erase what happened or what was communicated to me by Kiddie Academy staff. Parents can read both sides and decide for themselves whether this is the level of supervision and accountability they are comfortable with for their child.

In my opinion, I do not believe that child safety is a priority for the leadership of this organization, and when my child and I tried to communicate safety concerns to members of leadership, we were ultimately made to feel unwelcome by the organization. This left my kids devastated as they had come to love and trust these people. To anyone with children participating in their programs, I would strongly recommend being present with your child at all times, especially backstage during performances and dress rehearsals. Hopefully, for the sake of the other children in our community, what happened with my family served as a wake up call to them and changes will be made in the future to prioritize child safety. I personally don't feel comfortable or trust the organization enough to give them more chances with my own children. Since I promoted this organization to other families for years, I feel compelled to share this information despite the organization bringing up legal counsel, defamation, and having a lawyer email me to set up a meeting with me and my child. The second-to-last thing I want is to get sued for trying to protect kids, but the last thing I want is for something to happen to any kid because I didn't say something. *UPDATE: Since the organization representative decided to respond dismissively and misrepresent the situation, I will clarify the situation from my child's and my perspective. First, my daughter was not the only preteen girl who was uncomfortable being forced to change in a high traffic area around teen and adult males while only wearing a nude-illusion undergarment. My child was simply the only one brave enough to stand up for herself and the other girls. Second, the "accomodation" of bringing in 2 changing pods when there were more than 2 children needing to change at the same time was not a good enough "solution," especially because nobody addressed the bigger problem of the assistant director-now a board member- dismissing my daughter's concerns all week, forcing her and the other girls to change where they weren't comfortable, and telling these girls that anyone under 18 could watch them change. Other parents thanked me and my daughter for bringing up this concern and getting the changing pods for the other girls, so I am happy that our sacrifice helped other children. My child did not insist on changing in the adult changing room, she was initially told by staff that it was an option if she was uncomfortable changing in the open green room. Then that option was rescinded when staff deemed the adult dressing room to be "too toxic." Then my daughter was given the option of changing in a bathroom stall, as her only request was not having to change around boys and men. She accepted this option, but then that was also rescinded. My daughter and I both tried to walk away from the situation on good terms, but a board member then proceeded to start sending me texts accusing my child of only having a problem because one of the boys in the production had a disability- something my daughter didn't even know. She's just a pre-teen girl with very healthy and normal boundaries regarding changing in public. I responded with how hurtful of an accusation that was and tried to explain again that the issue was that the children did not feel comfortable, told the assistant director they weren't comfortable, and then that adult made my daughter feel punished for speaking up. I tried reaching out to that adult directly first, and she ignored me. Then I sent a message in the cast chat about it, and the director -now a board member- deleted my message. It took bringing it to the board's attention for anybody to care and all they did was bring in 2 changing pods when there were more than 2 children needing to change. A staff member told me they suggested putting up a room divider or sheet to provide some privacy for the girls, but were also dismissed. The board member eventually backtracked their disparaging texts, and I hoped the negativity would end there. But the next day, I received a long, disparaging email from the board member attacking my daughter even more and saying that they had gathered testimony from other cast and staff and parents agreeing that my daughter was the one with a problem. And that's when I realized I had to say something to try and protect other families from going through this. I feel like my daughter's reputation has been irrevocably damaged. It's never okay to dismiss a child when they say they aren't comfortable, or retaliate against them for it. I hope this situation inspires positive change. Why not give the children the safety and privacy of the dressing rooms? I believe if child safety had been their priority, none of this would have happened.
