I first had J.B Humble at the @lmetrocookingdc show last year. The J.B. stands for Jeffrey & Brittani Williams, which started their business in their kitchen in 2019. It wasn't until March that I had their pies again. I was looking for some pies that I could eat to celebrate 3.14 (pie day). Pie Day was something I first learned working at my previous job. It was a great way to break up the time between holidays. J.b.humble_pies popped up,& they delivered to my house in VA!! Almost no places in DC delivered to the end of the 95 interchanges. My pies arrived Sunday evening in preparation for Monday. Pies are available in various sizes from mini, personal, or family sizes. I ordered mini pies in these flavors: Apple Crumble Jerk Chicken Veggie BBQ Chicken Mac N Cheese S'mores I love apples, always trying new varieties. I introduced to Apple Crumble Pie about 8 years ago. I haven't had one in recent years because the last time I went on an Apple Pie eating spree, all of my clothes got really uncomfortable. Anyway, this pie has the crunchy sweetness of a streusel with the tart taste of warm apples. Jerk Chicken pie had a spicy, smoky heat, tender meat, & a flaky crust. I didn't eat it on Pie Day (since that day also was Meatless Monday), so I ate it as soon as it arrived. Veggie Pot Pie had all the savoriness of chicken pot pie without the meat. I had already had a sample of the BBQ Chicken, Mac & Cheese pie at the cooking show, but I knew I wanted more than just a tiny bit this time around. The sweet and savory bbq cheese with cheesy mac and cheese and flaky crust. Of the savory pies, this was my favorite! Smores pie was everything. The toasted marshmallows and melted richness of the chocolate with crumbled graham crackers. How can you find them? This venue is currently not utilizing their Hayes Street location so I was sent a home address. Pickup went very well and communication was great. I ordered the curry shrimp pie, shrimp and crab pie and a hand apple pie. The shrimp curry was tasteful however there was more taste of pepper than curry but it was good. The crust was delicious! The shrimp and crab pie had no filler - cool! However, it was not seasoned AT ALL! I added my own old bay and was able to get it down. The apple pie tasted good but the crust was waayyy too much... Seasoned well but too much crust. I will be going back but there are small tweaks to be made. Bon appetit!! read more

The pies are absolutely delicious! At one point I was ordering pies every week for months (ridiculous I know! But they were that good). My favorite are the curry pies and the apple/peach pies. I haven't had the pies in a while due to cutting carbs but will definitely order again during a cheat day lol read more

This was amazing. Found then through Facebook. Got 3 delivered pies. And it was incredible. I pre-ordered and not only was he on time, the pies were piping hot and tasted really good. Well seasoned, yet not spicy nor salty. Also very filling. I had a curry pie that was sensational. The chicken looked to be all white meat. It's not the just the drippings type of pie. Peas, carrots, curry and green beans make this dish flavorful on almost every part of the flavor wheel. I definitely felt comfort in this food, moreover comfortable to order again. read more

This was amazing. I ran across them on Instagram. Glad I did. I have ordered 3 times since and have tried just about everything, and will be going back. The pies were well seasoned and filling. I ordered the chef's dinner combo and it was so good! The mac and cheese, the kale (that was prepared like collard greens), the crab balls, the dessert pies (apple and sweet potato) and the seafood pie were all on point.
