Frank and his subcontractors performed a gut apartment kitchen renovation while working with an outside kitchen cabinet installer. They also did cabinetry work beyond the kitchen and painted the entire apartment. The work was top notch with particular attention to detail and building code. And they diplomatically handled a less than helpful building super. Bonus #1: ask Frank's advice on paint color. His dad was in the paint business and so he knows his stuff. Bonus #2: his stone fabricator Anthony Nitti is a true artist. Make sure he does your kitchen counters. One small caveat: Frank is dependent on subcontractors whose schedules at times lead to work delays. Summary: do yourself a favor and consider Frank's Rasizzi's Christopher Interiors company for your next renovation job. We are glad that we did. read more

Frank is great, however, his GM(s) and crew do not live up to expectations. Sloppy painting (missed areas, no second coat, spills, on to poorly done electrical and plumbing. Subs seem sub-par as well, likely because they were not supervised. Our GM could not be bothered to communicate - period, when he did the information shared was meaningless and frankly, he was rude. The crew mostly could not care less and it showed even when we were on premises. J Christopher Interiors rates are on the higher end, those in the industry know this, sadly, based on our experience the work does not merit the cost. read more

I would never recommend J. Christopher Interiors. They are the contractors for our co-op small bldg in Chelsea nyc. Our co-op manager said that the job would last 3 weeks max-- What happened was that there was no solid measuring where the landings needed to be retiled and when they did the demo on those landings they later discovered that they had not the proper measurements of the tiles so they had to go and redemo the landings throwing back the job for days No communication for the tennants to know what was going on and a real lack of understanding for the complete job. Previously had work done by J Christopher and was satisfied. However, after a fire in my building in December my apartment had to be totally rehabilitated. I was appalled by the paint job they claimed was complete, sloppy in some areas, others not painted at all. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, Carl became belligerent and confrontational. Cabinetry was installed incorrectly, and when I pointed it out Frank told me they didn't need to be supervised and ordered me not to speak to him or his employees (excuse me, it's my apartment and I'm paying for it). Just four months later my ceiling has already cracked, but Frank says it's not his problem. I think they have become too complacent, take on too much work and are living off the good reputation they had but have now squandered! read more

He is a contractor, so he hires carpenters, etc. to do the work. He replaced kitchen doors and countertops and painted. Excellent work. Reasonable price. Very customer oriented as always answered phone within at most a couple of hours and made sure the work was done right. He is a pleasure to work with. Honest, trustworthy and reliable. Frank and his crew installed a set of french doors, but a few months later the hinges started coming out of the wall. I called a handyman to come take a look and it turns out that they (1) did not use the proper screws to secure the doors to the wall, and (2) did not align the two doors properly. Not to mention latch which is supposed to keep the doors closed does not work properly as well. Ok if you need something done quickly (they installed the entire thing in half a day), but would not recommend for anything more than a small simple job. read more

I completely agree with the first reviewer's post who was raving about Frank. I second the fact he is trustworthy, honest, reliable and hugely customer service focused. I have used him more than once, first for painting and fixing a few things here and there. More recently we did a kitchen remodel together and I couldn't be happier. Don't get me wrong, we ran into problems. How your contractor deals with set backs is really where the rubber hits the road, and Frank passed with flying colors. He is relentless in getting things right for his clients. Oh, did I mention his teams are insanely tidy. Yes, tidy, careful and attentive. That rarely happens in this business. As for the guy complaining about the French Doors, I find that shocking on many fronts. Frank guarantees his work for a year and I can tell you from experience, he is good for it. As for the other reviewer who only had one quote in a rush situation and got mad? Doesn't it say something Frank was the ONLY one who stepped up to quote and agreed to wait on his insurance? To expect a contractor to have immediate availability is ridiculous. Frank does a great job juggling his project lists. In the 9-10 years of working with him, Frank always comes through and fits me in. It is without hesitation that I recommend Frank and his team at J. Christopher Interiors. Be very careful and wary with this contractor! Tends to do shortcuts on work to the detriment of quality! If you do not supervise closely they get away with it. My review is solely on the quote process only. At the initial meeting, Frank sounded promising. I trusted Frank as he was recommended by a good friend and did not know much about flooring or the process requirements with insurance and condo paperworks. Problem started when I had just one contractor and was too trusting. I did ask Frank if I can wait for my insurance adjuster gives me an estimate, he said yes. As soon as I heard back from the insurance agent Wed, I asked him to send over an insurance certificate and a contract with project dates without a back-up plan (knowing that I had no back-up contractor at the last minute), Frank overbooked his schedules tending to multiple projects and delayed my project to later date than initial date and said he can not guarantee a completion date and broke the news Friday evening before the long weekend when everyone takes break. Not agreeing to do the job is fine. However, he texted ok and and made me wait 3 days thinking that he will surely send over a contract. When I called him next day, he was out getting more estimates (you can not even handle current ones!!!) and secretary is out and will send contract soon. Just unbelievable. He got back to me very late on Friday evening and said he needs to push back the starting date to a week or later and with upcoming holidays he could not even give me an estimate completion date. He pressed for signed contract (slightly altered) with deposit but god knows when he will be done? Pretty much, my job (gut down new installation (vacant to their advantage) that is almost 20,000.00) was about to get sidelined right before the Labor Day weekend and contract was even altered when it arrived on Friday evening. When I tried to call him to sort out corrections he said he is not available until Tuesday and I just mail him the signed contract over with 30% deposit. What really blew it off was...He said how am I going to find a contractor to do a huge job like this... and hung up the phone. I decided not to go ahead with Frank, and from Friday night on, I contacted my friends and co-workers's contractors in addition to Yelp for solution. Luckily, I was able to find, out of 15 contractors (few came came late or saw the opportunity to rip off when seeing the condo- this is norm, where handyman, realtor and contractors get mad for not thanking them for ripping off the owners and knowing that they are lying you have to pretend to not know it at all) 7 different top rated (thanks to Yelpers!) contractors in town scheduled for an appointments on Labor Day Monday and Tuesday morning after the long weekend starting from 8:15am- 10am with professionalism, on time for appointments, best quote and prices possible who had done many high end luxury condos. It was difficult to find just one contractor and the decision was difficult one. The contractor who I have decided to go with (he asked few hundreds dollar more which I did not mine as leaving the unit vacant cost me 175 dollars per day- so in essence I do not lose additional 1,000 and up with completion date guaranteed) did not take advantage of my helpless situation sent over the insurance certification to the condo on the same day and started the job next morning on the dot at 9am and ending at 5pm as promised. I was able to find top of top quality wood supplies and workmanship without being rushed to sign the contract. He even waited a day to cash my check as I could not deposit the insurance check til Tuesday morning due to the holiday weekend. Yes! It wasn't easy finding a contractor at the last minute... However, the current contractor guaranteed promised date on the contract and been working 9-5 with honesty and sincerity. He did not mine me going nuts over getting over trust issues when I reviewed and process over and over again so I am not signing myself into more troubles. He simply kept calm, and proved his workmanship and professionalism by being on time, working hard, providing best service and honesty. Now, I can just take it easy and enjoy my long weekend with no worries. Will definitely recommend whole luxury condo manager and residents for their next job to this wonderful contractor who we can trust our units rest assured. Frank might can gurantee workmanship (not yet personally proven) however, make sure you have back-up contractors until that contract is signed with guaranteed finishing date. Also, neither did his company have much of Yelp reviews and made my decision easier. read more
