As I looked through some photos of the children with Santa, beautiful. Beautiful. The trip from San Mateo was going to be so worth it; at least, I had thought.
Our first attempt at photos with Santa was a flop. Which was understandable because Santa is a stranger. Stranger= danger to my two-year-old daughter and one-year-old nephew. The photographer captured some hilarious moments on camera of my daughter trying to escape the jolly-jolly man and my nephew screaming bloody murder to get back into the arms of my sister. However, we needed a re-take as these photos will be Christmas gifts to Grandma and Grandpa on a frame.
We were allowed a re-take but had to wait our turn again; which was fine, and I expected that. Next in line, the mother of the family before us, I noticed, was a bit rude and condescending to the photographer. That seemed to have put him in a bad mood after that. By that time, it was our turn to have another go. However, this time, we got an annoyed version of the photographer- had no input and no help to us whatsoever. Total Bah-humbug. Maybe he was annoyed that we were doing a re-take. Well hey, what can I say? I just wasn't satisfied with the first photos. These pictures are not cheap, man. I needed to get a decent grandchildren picture for my parents out of this.
Our 2nd attempt, this time sans Santa, wasn't much better than the first either. No fault to the photographer; my daughter and nephew just were NOT having it. Oh well, it is what it is.
We left Vacaville a little upset today because of the photographer's attitude towards us in the end. However, that does not mean that I am not a fan of his Storybook idea. It beats photos with Santa at the mall any day. His work deserves more than three stars, but I can not give him five today because of the attitude. If it were that mother that put him in a bad mood this morning, he should of just let it go. If it was my doing; I apologize, but my request for a re-take was not ridiculous. I will take the trip again and give him another chance next year. Hopefully, my daughter and nephew will warm up to Santa by then. read more
