Instead of clarifying this upfront, I was met at the appointment by two nurses rather than the physician I had scheduled to see. Only then was I told I would have to bring my child in before the physician would speak with me. The interaction with one nurse in particular, Brittney, was especially unprofessional. Her dismissive comment--asking if I had "ever been able to see a pediatrician without bringing the kids"--was condescending and unnecessary. Clear communication at scheduling would have avoided this situation entirely. As a physician myself, I know that one callous interaction can undermine an entire practice. This encounter left me questioning the culture of respect and professionalism at this office.

The staff did everything they could to make sure I could get treated promptly and get back on my way. The clinic doesn't have the equipment or facilities to treat more serious injuries but for your run-of-the-mill problems like minor infections, illnesses, or sprains this clinic would be my first choice any day because I can get in and out so much faster than I ever could at, say, the family medicine clinic at the nearby medical university. The only turn-off for me with this clinic is there is a lot of Christian or Bible-themed plaques and sayings posted around the clinic. I believe in treating the 'whole person' and in the valuable role one's spirituality (if applicable) can play in healing. However, when only one faith or religion is represented it implies that in the eyes of the staff there is the only 'right' belief system, and that does not feel welcoming to patients who do not share those beliefs. If a clinic is going to post such things on its walls, I believe it is more appropriate to post inspirational quotes from a -diverse- array of faiths or spiritual leaders so as to communicate respect for the diverse array of clients that walk through your doors.

Besides, on paper they look like they have not been open in 6 years or just simply not review worthy. Maybe after a few more "by appointment only" patients, they can afford to update their door signs and street sign. It's a scratch.

I experienced an issue that had nothing to do with the clinic but had something to do with me personally. Gabrielle went above and beyond to fix the issue and made my life so much easier today. Excellent Customer Service skills she displayed and she showed me that my problem was important. The entire office staff got involved to resolve of my issue. They made a scheduling error, charged me an incorrect copay, and threatened to call the police when I asked for a refund. An honest apology for the mistake & correcting it would have been enough but instead the office manager threatened me with calling the police saying I "verbally abused a healthcare professional". I didn't realize advocating for myself was verbal abuse. The doctor corrected it and refunded me, but the staffs behavior was completely unacceptable. To top it all off, they couldn't provide me with my last lab work done 6 months ago because they were having issues "logging into their account" & didn't show that I even came in 6 months ago in their systems. I had to provide them a receipt to show that I did come in and had my labs done. So who knows if my blood work that I was charged for 6 months ago was even seen/looked at by the doctor. I will not be back!
