Javier, the owner, was paid over $7k for labor on an OEM engine rebuild, yet my performance car left the shop with a dead battery and a coolant leak. Not only did the shop owner try to weasel out of the 'warranty' by telling me I would have to pay for a coolant system repair, but he overbilled me. After agreeing on a rate of $125/hr the final bill states $169/hr which created about $1000 profit. Irresponsible comes from leaving my car smelling like shop oil/grease. My car has a dead battery, is leaking coolant, and smells like grease. IF YOU DONT STAND BEHIND YOUR WORK, YOU WILL CONTINUE TO LOSE CUSTOMERS! HONOR YOUR COMMITMENTS. Wow! Never had as many problems just trying to get a reasonably accurate estimate from any auto repair shop as this one. The process with four other shops I checked out for the same repairs using same description went smoothly, so not sure why it was so difficult for RNJ. Needed a simple headlight replacement, installation of a new combo meter (circuit board that displays speedometer and odometer), and a quote for an engine swap on a Prius. The woman who provided a two hour quote for the combo meter, Nancy J., didn't know what one was - which is understandable - but apparently couldn't be bothered to look it up. On July 15 promised to get me a quote on the engine swap the next day, then almost two weeks later (July 27) said still didn't have it. Rather than being somewhat apologetic for not following up as promised, her reply was seething with sarcasm. Things rarely turn out well, in my experience, when a company is this careless and puts someone who doesn't understand the fundamentals of customer service as your first point of contact. It's not uncommon for these companies to exercise poor judgment in other aspects of the business as well. Bottom line: Service leaves much to be desired and prices not very competitive. Too many shops out there who are eager to earn your business and extremely capable to put up with this level of carelessness and sarcasm. Is this shop better than a dealership as mentioned in several of the positive reviews? Sure. But that's setting the bar really low.
