This is definitely a local hangout, this place has a sports bar vibe I noticed there were lots of pitchers of beer being served up which is cool and checks all the boxes for a social setting, a 32 Oz domestic draft was only six bucks. We were seated without a wait and immediately greeted by our server Joy who was very friendly, attentive and really busy - we ordered the special "Triple Tail Chris Fish" it was just okay as was the gumbo I also ordered the cheese baked oysters which were very much over-cooked, and way too much cheese, they were like chewing bubble gum and after Joy noticed my displeasure she apologized for them being grossly overcooked but didn't offer a replacement, again she was swamped but shame on the kitchen for serving these. I couldn't wait until dinner was over and after a dining experience like this of course it took forever to get my check. My family and I were excited to try this place and disappointed as soon as we got seated. It took our waitress Hayden 15 mins to greet us. And 15 mins more to take our order. We tried to order grouper and unicorn fish but were disappointed when they said they only had catfish or cod. We ordered an appetizer which came out with our dinner. After ordering it took 45 mins to get our food and they were not very busy at 4:30. Food was mediocre at best. Overall very disappointed and do not suggest this restaurant as PCB has plenty other options. read more

This place is a scam catch and cook supposedly $15 a pound and then came the up charges which is not disclosed.. how many additional people how you want the fish cooked etc. etc. Ended up costing me over $100 to cook 3 pounds of fish ridiculous never again!! just kept giving me the runaround on additional charges so sad instead of catch and Cook it should be called bait and switch !!!! read more

Well, we stopped at J Michael's tonight for our first official vacation dinner. We went a little later than we typically do for dinner (6pm) and had to wait about 20 minutes on a table for 6. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. She quickly brought our drinks followed by our order of smoked tuna. This tuna dip was a little more moist than most I've had with a bit sweeter taste but, was delicious. The portion was enough to feed all 6 of us We ordered a variety from shrimp and pasta, fisherman's sandwich with fries, chicken sandwich and a kids cheeseburger. The shrimp and pasta had a really good flavor to it. The sauce was little more runny than I typically like but again it was very flavorful with perfectly cooked shrimp. The chicken sandwich was really juicy and the ranch dressing with it was a nice touch. The breading on the fish sandwiches was about perfect and the fish itself was flaky. Loved the seasoning in the fries. They didn't need any additional salt and were delicious. All in all if you're looking for what feels like a cool but fast paced vibe, this place is for you. I give a one star because couldn't give a zero. Addison was our waitress. First they said 45 min wait which ended up being about an hour and no big deal. Then we ordered and another 1 plus hour still no food, drinks stayed empty for more than 10-15 minutes and waitress came by the table 3-4 times finally I called to her attention need of drink refills this occurred numerous times in hour 3 hour dinner meal. Then when food finally came out it was only one order crab legs and we ordered 2 and the waitress offered no apologies. She did not even offer us to place an additional order which we would not have done any way and she did not offer to get a manager or take care of this issue. Then the crab legs were so cold they seized to the shell couldn't even get the meat out and the butter was so cold too. She also tried to charge us twice for drinks!!! I have never experienced such a lack of service or care for me and my family as with encounter. So don't waste your time with this establishment. By the way we paid full price for this horrible experience. Well we are off to another place to have dinner. read more

We waited about 1.5 hours for a table for 6....to be expected. We had cocktails as we waited and mingled with other guests on the outside porch. Once seated, we ordered and the food came more quickly than expected for a busy night. The little kids had wings and tenders - they enjoyed. The table shared oysters - they were good. They were not so good that they will be memorable. I'm a beach girl and love oysters! That said, I do recommend trying them. It's what we were told they're known for. We had two kinds baked with spinach and cheese and the sautéed oysters. I had the J Michael's shrimp - it was good but honestly, a little lack luster. It was a small portion with some rice. The flavors were good but I would not order again. Husband had gumbo - it was lacking for him. I'm a Cajun so we like a deep roux and layered flavor. This was light and thin. This fell short. Was it bad? No. It was fine, it just wasn't what we like in a gumbo. It was boring. Older son had the fish - he didn't remember what it was when I asked him to remind me. Again, forgettable. (I wish I had taken pictures of the food but we were really hungry). We decided to try local spots that we've never tried before and this had a lot of reviews, should've read the recent reviews. We got a table for 3 and I decided to get sweet tea with fish and chip, my boyfriend ordered: 6 hush puppies, jalapeño cheese curds, and a Reuben with half and half tea, while my friend had ordered a burger with sprite. My fish and chips were decent, some seasoning to the fish, very peppery slaw, and old unseasoned fries. My boyfriend said that was the worst reuben he'd had so far but finished it because we're paying for it. And my friend said it's just a burger with no much flavor. Yes we understand they didn't order seafood but I did and it wasn't worth the hype. We also saw our waiter twice, once to take the order and the second we had to ask the front where to pay because we didn't see her at all after taking the order. As a local, I'm not sure what the big hype is? The wait isn't worth it. The decor is your local type and I can understand the attraction but the food wasn't really that good. We ordered the oysters, burger and grouper. Sure they were good tasting, but not better than other local places. Not the best oysters, doesn't beat Hunt's.
