First time here at Millies. Wife and I have been walking around the farmers market here on Harrison Avenue and decided to stop by for some lunch. I ordered the grouper fingers lunch special with coleslaw and she opted for the fried oyster appetizer. It's a pleasant atmosphere in and nice and cool inside after walking around downtown Panama City. Service was fast and friendly. My grouper fingers were hot, tasty and fried to perfection although not overly meaty. Coleslaw tasted fresh and went well with the fried fish. The oysters that my wife ordered were some of the best fried oysters we've had in many years! There wad a very large amount of very large (bordering on huge) oysters. She loved them and couldn't finish them all (I of course volunteered to help support her on that ). The oysters were just a Little Bit on the too salty side but not by any means way too salty. The tartar sauce helped. The oysters were definitely the highlight of our lunch and we will most certainly be returning for more! read more

Love sitting on the patio outside in nice weather. They have cold beer and great food! My last trip was the crab cakes with fried okra and and cheese grits, hubby had scallops with baked beans and slaw. The atmosphere (live music) was great. At this point it's a downhill slide. I observed the woman running the place....aggressively wiping (or violating) her nose and opening beer bottles without washing her hands. Thankfully she's not the cook. The gator was good, but the larger pieces were very tough. The hush puppies are good but nothing to write home about. We didn't care for the baked beans but just a personal preference. Decided to try Millie's while in Panama City for the day. It was pet friendly and had decent reviews. The outdoor seating area was fine except for the constitution which is not their fault. Shrimp was good and tuna ok. Cheese grits were average as were the green beans. Server was average. She almost seemed bothered. Wouldn't eat here again read more

first time in Panama City beach. me and my boyfriend came. we really enjoyed the crab cakes and the service was good. however, i was thinking prices were good until our bill. they up-charged us for everything we order. example, the chicken salad was 12$ on the menu. on my bill it was 12.50. I was very disappointed looking at this. we enjoyed our food, and service. I feel as if it was distasteful to see the up-charge on EVERYTHING. especially by .50 cents. ridiculous ! even with this inconvenience we still tipped. will NEVER recommended this place bc of the dishonestly. read more

We went in to hear our friend play music (East Bay). What an enjoyable evening. We were lucky in that fried flounder was the special. In my opinion it's the only way to have flounder! We were served two huge pieces of fish, two hush puppies, and two sides. The food and service was excellent. The waitress made sure we were served promptly and cared that we enjoyed our food. It's a small. quaint place, which I love. It seemed as though we were with a crowd of friends. There was interaction between the tables and it gave off a very friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend Millie's as a simple, fun, and great place to eat in historic Panama City. We wanted to have some seafood and Millie's did not disappoint. We started out with some gator bites and cheese curds. The gator bites were cooked perfectly and very good. The cheese curds were good but would have liked the same breading the gator bites were done with. I ordered the fried oyster platter and my wife ordered the shrimp in cheesy grits. Both were very good, the oysters were fresh and cooked perfectly. I had a side of coleslaw and cheesy grits. Everything was very good and we wood definitely come back here again. I wonder how our "eating-out lives" would have changed if we hadn't overheard someone talking up Millie's at a nearby antique store about 6 years ago. We eat at Millie's once a month when staying at our condo on PCB. It is a cozy little diner near a sweet outdoor park, not far from the bay. Here's the meal: Grouper fingers, fried, with their homemade potato chips (right out of the fryer) with ranch dipping sauce. And do NOT miss the beignets with powdered sugar and chocolate dipping sauce for dessert, served with a cup of black Community coffee. The salad with skewers of grouper fingers is a favorite. The crab cakes are awesome as well. That is all we eat there. (If it ain't broke...). *They start with fresh cooking oil every day! You can tell! read more

Millies has a tiny storefront in downtown Panama City, but what it does not have in size, it does have an abundance of atmosphere and character. The menu is pretty simple and standard fare for a saltwater related restaurant. I had a blackened mahi sandwich - It was delicious! Highly recommended. The service is great! Hard to locate but worth the search. They accepted our service dog and were very gracious. Ordered appetizers of fried shrimp and pickles. Both were awesome. I don't think I've been to the downtown area of Panama City in over 20-years. Okay, perhaps I've traversed through on a long run during one of my twice annual visits to my mothers place - but to actually eat dinner in the downtown area, oh - it had easily been 20-years. And, the downtown area is awesome. Maybe the best kept secret in all Bay County. Okay, I'm off subject. On to Millie's Restaurant. This place is great. It is mix between a dive bar and a Cajun bistro. Sure, the place is a bit "raw" and . . . well, dive bar like - but the food is simply terrific. Really well done. Millie's is the perfect balance between the 'stick-to-your-ribs' the South is so well know for cultivating and well seasoned, well prepared gourmet seafood. Everything that we had was made to please and certainly enhanced the overall dining experience. We went on a cool early April evening and sat outside on the breeze way that connects two of the older brick buildings. The general ambiance is like something straight out of a southern film set. Just enchanting. Add to the mix - really friendly and attentive service, great food, a nice assortment of cold beers and some of the best peanut butter pie (make that the only peanut butter pie) I've ever had, and Millie's is a 'must visit' Panama City eatery.
