We've always eaten at Billy's oyster bar, sometimes 2-3 times in one vacation, because it was good food and reasonably priced. However, we went for the first time in maybe 3-4 years and the food was not what I remember. Blackened grouper with new potatoes and Cole slaw, 10/10. Maybe a dozen large steamed shrimp 10/10, with fries that were not fresh, but cold and rubbery instead, not fit to eat . Hamburger seemed to be a frozen patty with same fries. Hush puppies were ok but dry. We spent $106 including $20 tip, which I think is a bit much for the quality of the food. We had an incredible evening at Billy's Oyster Bar! It was clearly the hotspot on Thursday night--when we arrived for dinner and drinks, there was only one table left, and it felt like it was meant for us. The décor at Billy's isn't particularly remarkable: dollar bills decorated with handwritten messages cover the ceiling, sports shows play on the TVs, and sturdy tables and chairs--simple, with paper coverings--await you. There's also a little corner with T-shirts available for purchase. Our server, Kristen, was fantastic--friendly, efficient, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. She answered all our questions before we ordered. We kicked things off with a pitcher of beer, served alongside ice-cold mugs. Then we enjoyed fresh side salads--nothing fancy, but the ingredients were super crisp. We followed that with a half-pound of steamed shrimp and a dozen steamed oysters. Billy really knows his way around the kitchen; everything was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing! We're in PCB for five nights, and we're already planning our next meal at Billy's. Yikes! Food is bland, server was nice, host was miserable. Portions were not good, way overpriced and under seasoned. Got fried shrimp that were burnt, corn that was freezer burned and the seafood boil at $39.99 was like a watery grave, it was sad food with no seasoning. By far the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. We spent over 30 minutes going back and forth with two different managers because nobody wanted to take responsibility for the problems. Instead of listening and trying to fix the situation, they argued with us, raised their voices, rolled their eyes, and acted like we were the inconvenience. The service was awful from the beginning. The waitress constantly huffed, rolled her eyes, and had an attitude every time we asked for something. We waited nearly 30 minutes for sauces, had to ask for ice, and were never told that bottled water and canned drinks would be charged separately or that refills would cost extra. The food was just as bad. The chicken pasta was mostly fat and couldn't be eaten. There was a bug on the lettuce of a grilled chicken sandwich. We were told the sandwich would be taken off the bill, then later told that was never said. Flies were constantly bothering and biting us while we were trying to eat. After all of that, the only thing they took off was one meal, and our bill was STILL over $40. After the terrible food, bug in the meal, poor service, hidden charges, and the way management handled the situation, that's completely unacceptable. This place has some of the worst customer service and management we've ever dealt with. We left angry, frustrated, and feeling completely disrespected. We will never be back and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Service is slow. Wait times are long due to less tables. And they continue to get bad reports from the restaurant inspectors. Last time I ate here I got sick. A lot of their food is not held at the proper temperatures. That's why the health inspectors keep giving them bad reports. Don't take a chance here. We are locals & stopped going here ! Best oysters in PCB. We will always come here every time we visit. Service is awesome. And the overall experience is very enjoyable.

We love coming here for the blue crabs! They have regular and Select which are larger. I recommend to call ahead and see what they have available. May not be there when you get there as Select sell out pretty fast. Seasoning is great though, and a cool beach vibe (very casual) makes it top on our list to hit every time we are in town. We had Just got into town for work for a few and came across this hidden gem! Parking lot was full so that was a good sign. Got sat right away inside. There is an option to sit outside on the deck too. We sat at the bar the older lady that helped us was great! Great service. She was nice and very attentive. We stopped here for lunch after scuba diving. It's a Ute little dive with a nice outdoor seating area and lots of dollar bills hanging from the ceiling. I opted for the grouper salad sandwich, there was barely any grouper salad on it and they forgot the lettuce and tomato. The fries were good. I do t know if they are just being cheap and not putting any meat on anything to keep their prices down or what, but I'd rather pay more and have the normal amount of fish meat in an entree. A Family Tradition! We eat here EVERY time we're in FL! Even though we are staying in Seaside (Santa Rosa Beach) we drove to PCB just to eat at Billy's! We LOVE the shrimp! So good! I was on the hunt for some good blue crabs as I headed back home from Panama City, Billy's Oyster Bar did not disappoint. Firstly, I love the look of the place as well as the customer service and hospitality, that really goes a long way. We were immediately greeted and told about specials and the most popular menu items. The menu is pretty big and everything looked delicious. Of course, I came for the crabs but Billy's definitely seems to be a regular spot to visit for a lot of people when visiting Panama City. It will definitely be on my list now! I would not recommend this place or come back again. Menu is vague, and doesn't explain a lot. We had 6 people, got shoved in the corner where we couldn't even move our chairs. Out of king crab legs, out of steamed crab claws. Which majority of us wanted. Wasn't made aware until we were trying to order and done ordering. Our food also took forever to get out. We had fried pickles and fried green beans which were good, shrimp wraps which had avocado in there that was not on the menu or looked fresh at all, it did not even look like avocados. dozen raw oysters that came out in a pool of water and barely any ice, and didn't taste that great either, so how long has it been sitting? They were also very dark and very small. All I wanted to order was out, and I didn't want fried food. I wanted steamed and fresh. But they were all out, so all I got was clam chowder that looked like it's been sitting under the heat lamp or steam well. Lobster bisque that didn't taste like lobster bisque. A table sat after us (who I guess were regulars since they knew our server and our server were there chatting with them), ordered way after us, and still got their food way before us. And all we had for entrees was two cups of soup, chicken tenders, and fried shrimp and crab claws. Which we were confused. Our server came back once to check on us, doesn't even remember what we ordered or who had what. Sorry to those who enjoys this place. The whole experience was just not pleasant. $29.80 for a dozen oyster and cup of clam chowder. $34 for chicken tenders fried pickles and lemonade. Overpriced and still hungry.
