I just wanted to write an update and show photos of my brows before and after I got them microbladed WITH makeup. I'm still loving them and it's been almost 6 months since the first appointment with J. The photo with my short hair is after my second touch-up was healed. I do fill them in when I wear a full face of makeup, although it's not necessary. They are not as dark as they appear in the photo however, I was using a filter that made them appear darker. I love them and they are perfect for my face structure! The color and shape is very natural! The photo with me rocking braids was before I got my eyebrows done with J. It would take forever to fill them in to look like that and they still weren't as full as I wanted them to be, but I hate harsh and overly drawn in brows and would settle quickly haha! I just got my eyebrows done and I looooove them! I have a scar in my left eyebrow that's almost impossible to cover with makeup and that's why I decided to try microblading. J is amazing! Professional, gentle, and so courteous. She took her time and gave my eyebrows a break from the pain by applying numbing cream a few times throughout the session. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE WITH PRICING - PRICING IS SHOCKINGLY INCONSISTENT AND OVERPRICED! I was referred by a friend who told me Jmicroblade was great AND had great pricing. Little did I know that Jmicroblade DOUBLED their price in 5 months from $450 to $900 and doesn't disclose it ANYWHERE. I combed through her website and Yelp page, and there was no pricing listed at $900, which means she charges whatever she wants. She did not tell me her pricing was $900 until AFTER she was done microblading my face. Why would I ask about pricing when my friend told me she had great pricing? She even knew who referred me so she knew how much she charged her vs. what she was deciding to charge me. At the time I didn't know, but I never thought it would have been $900. If I knew that the price was $900, I would have rather gone to Microblading LA. Even weirder is that her Yelp price is $600 (screenshot included if she decides to change it later) while her in-person price is $900. I didn't know this until I talked to my friend after to find out that I was completely tricked. She originally gave me a 20% discount because I'm a social influencer, and I thought "wow that's so great." That ended up being $720 (20% of the ridiculous $900) - which is $120 more than the Yelp price! Also, WHY IS THE YELP PRICE ($600) $300 LESS THAN THE IN-PERSON PRICE ($900)? I tried to reason with her on Yelp messaging, but she was trying to find every excuse to say that her $900 pricing was fair and honest, even though 1. she never disclosed it anywhere, 2. ONLY 5 months ago, she charged my friend $450, 3. she put $600 pricing on her Yelp page. How is that justifiable? I came in through a referral so I didn't do all my research because I thought this place would be an honest establishment. I learned a lesson the hard way and got tricked into paying WAYYYYYY more than what my friend and probably many others did. I wish I did more research to see what I was getting myself into. I would not recommend this place to anyone, I will not come back for a touch-up, and I will be $300+ poorer than I deserve. I'm heading over to Angelina to do my touch-up, she only charges $500 for a whole session - it's almost half off of what Jmicroblade charges. :) read more

I did not expect to be writing this review today. I actually had my eyebrows done by Jae 5 months ago and they do look great. Aside from having a painful experience, my brows turned out looking rather great. Also, Jae was charging a much more affordable price, exactly half her $900 current price, 5 months ago. I'm writing this because over the course of the last two weeks, Jae has called me repeatedly, late at night, and never left a message (I leave my phone on silent about 95% of the time.) Last night I saw my phone light up at 8:30 pm and it was Jae, again. Concerned over what it could be, I picked up. Sadly, Jae had been calling me to complain about another customer and her pricing. Not sure why she felt like she needed to call me repeatedly to complain about a referral that I had given her, but she went on and on about "business" and "pricing in downtown la." Coincidentally, I had actually tried to refer another friend to her a couple weeks back, but we couldn't find any actual pricing on her website. So, when she brought it up on this late night phone call, stuff about her pricing changing (again, I barely understood why she was calling me to complain about another customer, there's quite literally nothing I can do about that and has nothing to do with me, and that's SO unprofessional) I told her I actually couldn't find her pricing anyway. She continued to insist it is on her website (which, when I checked two weeks ago, it was not). I wished her well and said I hope she gets is all figured out. Still bewildered as to why she would be calling me to complain ... I'm really mostly confused and upset that someone would try and hunt me down to defend themselves after not being transparent with another customer about their pricing. I have a bad habit at picking my eyebrows so I basically had nothing left. I was a little skeptical that it would not look as natural as I would like but she did an amazing job. It really looks like your real eyebrows and nobody knew that mine were microbladed until I told them. It's a long process but she makes you feel as comfortable as possible providing blankets or water to make the experience better. You can definitely trust her with microblading your eyebrows because she knows the exact shape and size that would look great for your face. She'll constantly ask you if your ok with what she is doing which is great. She really makes sure that you get what you want. read more

I must admit it. I had no eyebrows and it really really really bother me. I found out about Jae in Downtown LA and she changed me insecurities forever. Waking up with eyebrows; looking yourself in the mirror and feeling pretty is priceless. I absolutely recommend her services! She is amazing and does a great job. I visited Jae Microblade today. Amazing experience with J!!!! I did my eyelashes extensions. J was very king, polite, and very attentive to details. Very easy to communicate, very very nice lady! First she asked me what my expectations are about eyelashes, how big I want etc. I asked for natural classy look. She gave me all instructions about wearing extensions and how to wash my eyes. The procedure was about 1 hr. I guess the quality of eyelashes is very good too same as J soft hands, because my eyes are very sensitive and after procedure I felt like it's my own lashes. My friend had recommended me to check this place out because she was very satisfied with her result here. I instantly liked this place after checking out their ig and of course seeing my friend's new brows! I would describe my original brows as no brows because I barely had any hair or shape so I would spend substantial amount of time to draw them every morning. This was one of my top reasons why I decided to go for microblading. My first visit, J went through every detail of what microblading is all about and answered every question I had. After speaking with her, I decided to go for it on the same day! Make sure to bring reference pictures so J could get an idea of what kind of shape/thickness/color you desire. The pain level, I would say pretty bad but J will accommodate accordingly. 4 weeks after my first session, I had gone back for a retouch. She adjusted them a little and I am so so so happy with my result. My brows are still in the process of healing but I cannot wait to see what they will look like after the scabs fall off! Jae is amazing! I just had my brows done on Friday and they are healing so well! I've been researching microblading for a while now and took my time finding an artist I was comfortable with. That's what Jae is- an artist! She was so professional and an amazing listener when it came to my questions and concerns. She takes her time finding the right color and shape for you. I've heard stories about people saying microblading hurts worse than getting a tattoo so I was nervous about the pain. I have tattoos so I can confidently say that microblading is not as painful! Jae also puts numbing cream on throughout the experience and repeatedly checks in to make sure that you are comfortable. The noise of the blade was more of what threw me off - so if you're a bit sensitive I would suggest bringing headphones! The studio is also really cute and clean! The blankets she gives you are nice and soft so I felt really cozy during our session. Let me just start by saying that I already have my certification in microblading about 2 years ago. But I wanted to learn more techniques and I felt like I was lacking in some areas so I decided to get an advance certification. I looked and looked until I came across J microblade. At first I was skeptical, since I didn't know much about Jae, but when I met Jae for the consultation I knew she was a women of knowledge. I put a deposit down and was so anxious for the upcoming week, but also excited! Within 3 days I came out confident and learned so much from her! Since it was a one on one advance course, I love how all the focus was on me. My previous microblade class had about 10 girls, so I felt like I was always fighting to ask questions. With Jae, I was able to freely ask anything I want with no interruptions. Jae is a very honest and upfront person, so everything that needs to be corrected, she will not hesitate to tell you. She can be a little tough but I think honesty is the best policy. I was pretty nervous about doing this but really wanted to try it! At first the color looked SO dark but it faded after a few days & looks great now! Love the shape too! This place is super cute, clean, comfortable & professional. Numbing cream is a must! Weird sensation - sometimes I couldn't feel anything & in other areas I was more sensitive. Jae is wonderful! I was honestly pretty scared at the idea of microblading aka what I felt was a tattoo on my face. Jae not only is extremely nice and makes you comfortable, she explains everything as it is happening and works with you with what you want. I was pretty nervous and didn't know what I wanted other than eyebrows that looked great... and let me tell you, they really really do... it is amazing!
