I have definitely taken way too long to do a proper review for this place. I have been coming to Be Your Lash for about a year for lash lifts and they are easily the best lift I have ever had. I have really long and straight (almost downward facing) lashes that are stubborn to a lot of lifts. This salon is one of the only places I have been to that actually gives me a lift that lasts! First time getting my lashes done at Be Your Lash (BYL) and it definitely did not disappoint. I scheduled an appointment with Judy thru the online booking system and it was easy. Judy's suite is so cute and cozy, and it smelled so nice too! We discussed the type of lash extension style that I like and we opted for the hybrid round style because I like them long and voluminous. I had some minor stinging from the glue fumes, but Judy made sure to dry them and repeatedly ask if there's any discomfort. My lashes turned out great. It's been 5 days and there's been very minimal fallout. Note that BYL is very strict with their 3-week refill policy from what I was told. If you don't get a fill before the 3-week timeframe, then you're automatically charged for a new set next time. read more

Joo is amazing. She's very professional, has the sweetest and gentlest demeanor which also extends to the way she performs her work, and is such a joy to work with. I first got my lashes done for this last Coachella and let me tell you - they were put to the test in the heat, humidity, dust, dancing and moving all day/night etc. They lasted and I barely had any fallout, even almost 3 weeks later. She did such a great job! I got the hybrid set and I love them! If you have example photos of a lash style you like, bring them in and she will gladly work her magic. Fills are recommended before the 3 week mark but she does such a good job, I honestly felt like I could have come back in a month. It is advantageous to come back early because the fills are almost half the cost of a full set. Parking is tough in this area but there's a paid lot across the street. I asked for a fluffy cat eye hybrid that wasn't too long for my glasses & that's exactly what I received. I have pretty sensitive eyes and skin and I had zero irritation, which is always great! Booking: easy to schedule online and the staff reached out via text with all the details. There is new client pricing and there are also 2-3 week fill options to rebook. I've been getting my lashes done here for a few months now and I liked it because it was within close proximity to where I live, but I don't think I'll be frequenting this place any longer. I normally get lash extensions here but wanted to take a break in order to nurture my natural lashes so I opted for an extension removal + lash lift. I've gotten many lash lifts done elsewhere and honestly speaking, this is one of the worst lash lift results I've ever had. The lashes on one eye are at a much higher angle than the other and it doesn't seem like they put the silicone pad at the base because it dents halfway up my lashes instead of having that curl a lash lift is supposed to give. I also have a few wonky lashes on each eye that are bent sideways and a couple near the inner corner of my eye that are touching my lid and extremely uncomfortable. Also, it seems like they've recently hired a new person here who has been shadowing Joo. Shadowing to me is someone watching over the shoulder of the experienced worker. During my last appointment, Joo started my fill and then the new girl stepped in towards the end. And this time she pretty much did my removal and lash lift from beginning to end. Even though my eyes are closed throughout the appointment I can tell who it is through their touch. I'm all for people perfecting their skill and understand that the best learning is done through experience but I specifically request for Joo due to her expertise and experience. If they are having a less experienced employee work on you, it should be fully disclosed and perhaps charged at a lower rate. It should not come at the expense of the client considering a lash lift itself is $120. I would not come here for lash lifts but they do a fairly good job with lash extensions. read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! Before the pandemic I had lash extensions for 5+ years. I had moved to DTLA and wanted to get them again somewhere nearby. The location is fantastic - right by Staples Center on Olympic, so easy to find. Not to mention the aesthetic of the salon is so modern and chic. Joo was an absolute doll and made me feel so comfortable. Before we got started I was offered a beverage and she sat down with me to go over reference pics/discuss length and style! I had never had eyelash extensions before so I wasn't sure what to expect. It turned out to be such a wonderful experience! Joo was so helpful determining what lashes were right for me; not only identifying the look I was hoping to achieve, but she also took into consideration what would look best on my face. I was worried I might get bored while Joo worked her magic, but it was actually very relaxing. She is so gentle that I nearly fell asleep a few times. Being detached from my phone for an hour and a half turned out to be a very restorative experience and I was actually excited when I returned for a touch up a few weeks later. The studio is so beautiful and part of the reason I chose Be Your Lash. Another reason (in addition to Joo's beautiful work) is the convenience. I live downtown so I walked there, but there is also a parking lot across the street and it's pretty easy to find a metered spot on this side of downtown. I also felt very safe given the pandemic. Best eyelash extensions I have ever gotten! I am absolutely in love with the results and the process. My eyes typically shake the entire time and I have had some experiences where the tape really hurt my eyes but this process was sooooooo incredible that I nearly fell asleep.
