The man (part owner, half of husband-wife team) who came to measure was friendly and fast. He does a good job of "selling" the shutters and mentions how these are made in their shop and not sourced from elsewhere. In theory, this means they have greater quality control over the finished product and there's no middle man. I also liked the idea of supporting a smaller local business. The pricing was very competitive and their install timeline runs about 4-5 weeks, which is pretty typical for shutter installs. It's a big investment and you want them to be right, and they are worth waiting for. This is where the good stops. The install was a disaster. There were so many issues that needed correction: paint bubbles and debris splotches in the paint on some of the slats/louvers, crossbars with very obvious wood defects that created areas that looked liked dark streaks (yes, these are real wood and not a laminate or plastic), complete shutters that didn't close properly, etc. It was really frustrating to be spending thousands of dollars (yes, plantation shutters aren't cheap) and to have so many issues out of the gate. The installers were nice enough but shared my frustration that there were so many issues to correct - not their fault - they are just there to install - but did remark "some jobs just go like this." So, does this happen at every install? I doubt it, but it happened on mine, and to me, that's all that matters. Additionally, the installers left wood debris from drilling under all the windows. Guess who cleaned that up? A second date was set for a re-install, which, unfortunately, was two weeks later. Not the end of the world, but we had two weeks of rooms in our home with shutters and some without. Not a great look, but ok - we just rolled with it. The installer arrived for the re-install but was only able to complete half of the job due to being rushed away to *another* job that was also off track. Not. Good. So we had to schedule *a third* re-install to finish what should have been correct to start with. Communication with the owner was a little frustrating at times; I would have to follow up to get information that should have been communicated immediately. The third installation was scheduled and *finally* all shutters are in. In terms of appearance, we are pleased with the shutters and they look great. Unfortunately, the process was supremely painful and filled with so many frustrating issues. Considering what a mess the installation was, I found it quite fair to ask for a financial adjustment on the back end as a measure of customer service. The owner offered me $50. $50 on a roughly 5K shutter job. Wow. Just wow. So: are we pleased with the shutters after 6+ weeks of back and forth? Yes. Would I recommend this company to others. Nope. I have tried to be really fair in this review and give credit where it's due (pricing, friendliness of estimator/installers) but when you are dropping this kind of cash into your home, you should expect more. I would have gladly paid a little more for a stress-free process, and I suggest you do the same.

They were totally professional and did a very thorough job. We liked them so much that we requested the same team for 2 weeks later with the intent of becoming a twice monthly customers. The 2nd visit was different. One of the girls was the same, the other had evidently left the company. No worries there, personnel changes are part of business. Was still confident the cleaning would match up to the first. They finished in well under 2 hrs. Several things were simply not done (or not done well). For instance: The kitchen was wet-moped, but seemed like it wasn't swept. I did hear a vacuum in the kitchen, wondering if it was just vacuumed and not swept? Later that night we swept and found a lot of dirt under the table, in corners, etc...places a vacuum would not get. In the dining room there was standing dirt under the dining room table. Not sure if that room was moped either. My understanding was all cloth covered furniture would be vacuumed, it was the first visit. On the 2nd, it was not and there were crumbs, etc. on couches, pillows and cushions not straightened. All around the house we have child protection plugs in our sockets with grandkids coming in often. These were taken out to vacuum (of course) and left on the floor, not returned to the plugs. Dusting open flat surfaces seems like it was done with a dry cloth, no Pledge or other cleaner on it. Looks like dust was just pushed around in many areas. The first time they came out, we were very happy, things seemed to be clean and sanitary. Second time, a totally different story. There seemed to be a lack of attention to detail. We paid $140, and as I understand it, that was for up to 2 hrs. They were here less than 1.5 hrs and so much was simply not done. While this may have been a one-off (and I hope that is was), it is fully half our experience with the company. We will go a different direction for our regular cleanings. YMMV

Told them to cancel and won't try their services again.

Traumatic Move-in Incident Townhome The Abbey Suwanee Station For a company whose integrity is based on craftsmanship amd quality, KM Homes proves to be a disappoint and lack follow through of promises. If you are about detail and quality, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM KM HOMES. Yes, they are cheaper, but you are paying for what you get. I am first time home buyer, and I am so traumatized I will never purchase a new home from an unknown small builder again. I understand that a new house is imperfect--knicks, scratches, broken doors, dents in walls, paint on the floors, uneven wood stains, giant paint chips all over the house, cracked grout, missing window screens, blinds, broken food grinder (kitchen sink), unfinished garage concrete, broken/cracked cement--These are issues in home that needed fixing or still remains unfixed. However, when we hired Hero Home Inspectors to look over the house, their thorough inspection found things that were uncompromising--heater broken, water leaking faucet, windows that had rain coming in due to incorrect caulking, shoe molds missing in several places around the house, nails popping in several places including stairs, etc. We had made several complaints about the heater and leak (the NON-COSMETIC ISSUES)--since it was suppose to be fixed BEFORE CLOSING. But in reality it took 3 weeks AFTER closing to get these things fixed and working properly. The WORST PART--The only reason it was fixed was because we refused to move in, and change the utility bills to our name. It is now almost a month after we have closed. I still CANNOT move in because a house without hot water defines UNLIVABLE. I have a newborn child and we will not shower in cold water. Not only do we not have hot running water, the water pressure is too low in the showers, still missing shoe molds, and now our dishwasher is not working and won't turn on (although it was working prior to the plumber and electrician fixing the heater). But the worst part is the nonchalant and careless attitude of the sales agent. She was best during the time of purchase; we could text or email her about anything and she made sure it was done and fixed. Now that the house is closed, she has made it very clear that her work with is finished. She would not give me the corporate or owner's information to make a complaint. She said "If things need to get things fixed, she needs to be like everyone else and go through the portal. That's our system. She needs stop texting and emailing me and the builder." A month later, called corporate. They are asking if I filled out a survival list of all the unfinished and damaged issues? We were NEVER told by anyone before closing to fill out anything. We are now looking into legal advice.

He verbally quoted me $1,500 for an IKEA laminate counter kitchen installation. The cost of the IKEA laminate counter (3 pieces) was only $300. I felt the $1,500 was a bit high but I was having trouble finding someone to install laminate and Victor seemed knowledgeable regarding my project. The project should have taken a day, but Victor was extremely slow. He also let me know he now charges hourly. After day one, he was still setting up his equipment and adjusting my an ikea kitchen drawers which he claimed were off. Not much more done on day 2, day 3, finally started cutting counter tops. I asked him repeatedly where were were on price which he said he would let me know but did not. The evening before he did the actual install on my counter he sent me a text stating he was at $4,500. I was could not even believe this. I did not respond until the next day when he arrived. I had a conversation with him regarding the price he was now charging, he said he had to adjust some cabinets, I did not even pay that much to have my whole IKEA kitchen installed! I knew he was going to leave me is a mess, no counter, sink, etc. I told him to finish and when he was done, I tried to talk with him again about the original $1,500 estimate to now $4,500. He got very heated, so I gave him a check for the full amount which I so regret now but I was uncomfortable with his reaction and wanted him to leave my home. Please beware and don't make the same mistakes I did by hiring Victor who took total advantage of me and he knows it.
