The job was referred by an HVAC company (Ragsdale) and they apparently contacted two different mitigation companies to come to the home after a water leakage issue. The original company (Hampton Restoration) came out and setup equipment. Their employee was at the house until 10:00 PM. They did not have a HEPA/Anti-Bacterial filter available that day, but had planned to be there first thing the next morning with that filter. Thadeus from this company showed up at her home early in the morning and started bad mouthing the other business and tricked this elderly woman into sending the first company home. He had her sign a contract that says in multiple locations THAT ALL PAYMENTS WILL COME FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. That's legally binding. PERIOD. I will get to why that matters later. They completely dropped the ball and left the equipment at the home far longer than required. They then issued a bill in excess of $5,000 to leave some dehumidifiers at the home. They completely just ignored the actual rebuild of cut out sheet rock, removed carpet, and chewed up trim. This home sat with concrete nails all over the place from their poor cleanup and disappearance for the rebuild portion. The home looked like an absolute mess for MONTHS because they dropped the ball. During this time period, they started harassing the home owner for payment of that $5,000+ bill I mentioned earlier. They did not want to wait for insurance to pay. The homeowner told them to wait. They then started threatening to put a lien on her home if she didn't pay promptly. Once again, using scare tactics on a defenseless elderly woman. The same tactics scam artists use basically. She paid the amount out of sheer fear. The insurance company stated that they are WAYY over charging. They determined from comparable claims that the maximum amount they would pay was approximately $1,700. At this point they are committing insurance fraud, They have been asked multiple times to return the difference of about $3,200. They absolutely REFUSE to do it. They ignore communication after denying to pay the money back. They do not seem to realize they are engaging in INSURANCE FRAUD, breach of contract, and the fear tactics can be interpreted as assault. She is taking legal action and will absolutely recover the money. However, anyone considering doing business with this company should RUN. Get in touch with The Homestar Group. They will get you right. They won't try to steal from you, or commit other crimes as a general course of business.

They rushed my water mitigation job and inflated the bill assuming they would get…read morea blank check from my insurance company, tore my house apart without a claim being filed and charged me $2000 for drying Water from an active leak. Took the dryers away after 6 days only for water to continue to leak everywhere. Dalton assured me the work would be covered by insurance and offered to make the claim for me, but he failed to successfully file a claim before doing the demolition, after which the job sat stagnant for three weeks (with my house completely torn apart). Dalton finally realized the claim had never been filed, so I ended up filing it myself and it was denied. Hampton Restoration Group hit me with a $3300 bill, more than $2000 of which was for them to leave fans at my house for 6 days even though I asked them repeatedly if they shouldn't wait for the leak to be fixed before they begin mitigation. I spent 2 days on the phone negotiating with Chandler who eventually lowered the bill to $2200, but when I tried to work out a payment plan he told me I had 60 days to pay it in full or they would place a lean on my house and charge me another $350. He literally said to me "what's the big deal, you have like 6 investment properties." (why he thinks that, I have no idea). In the end I had to get a loan from my mom to pay them $2200 and Am now paying thousands more out of pocket to replace the flooring, drywall and bathroom vanity that they ripped out. I definitely learned an expensive lesson here. Never let a contractor try to file a claim on your behalf, never sign a work order without an itemized bill attached to it, and always trust your gut. All this to say, I do not recommend Hampton Restoration.
