I am in awe at the previous review. I bought a coat from J S Furs following an organization conference in CT. I got a good deal. Unfortunately, when I got home (NY), I realized the size was too big. I let him know. He offered to have me mail it back to him and he would switch it out for another size. I told him that I was heading through Maryland and maybe I could do a swap. He met me off of the highway and offered me two coat options that were smaller than the one I purchased. I was more than pleased. He was so accommodating and helpful. TERRIBLE Customer Service, dishonesty and blatant rudeness! Special ordered a cape 4 months ago. The Owner JAMES H. SIMPSON "Jim" is the very worst! He's a very temperamental, unprofessional, unscrupulously dishonest person. Instead of picking up the phone, he texts customers and is never timely in doing so. I have texts where he berates me for asking simple questions. I could never get a straightforward answer from him and would often have to ask the question several times. This is true dishonesty and deception folks. I have found him to be a liar and caught him lying several times! He lied to me constantly about the status of my order and what was going on with it. When I asked simple questions through inordinate delays, Jim me mad me feel as though I had no right to know what's going on with my cape or bothering him in some way. You would think I asked him for his social security number or credit card information the manner in which he responds to customers. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Well, no customer service at ALL. Sloppy recordkeeping too. When I went to add something to my order Jim, attempted to invoice me for $800 more which I had paid in FULL 1 month prior. His recordkeeping is so sloppy and dilapidated that he can't keep up with payments and I had to wait 10 minutes until he went through a grey rusty file cabinet. He ended up blaming it on his assistant misplacing or misfiling my final payment. SMH! Mind you, he has over $2,000 of my MONEY FULLY PAID for a special order; so, I think trying to find out when something that is MINE will arrive is standard...right. NOT with this unsavory business. I have been a fur lover for the past 30 years and have 4 full length minks that I have stored at an exclusive furrier. At an international sorority event, I stumbled upon this furrier and ordered a special ordered garment in July. It is the middle of November and I still do not have this cape that is FULLY PAID for. Jim, the owner is unresponsive to simple requests for information and downright belligerent and rude! After paying for my cape in full and waiting 4 months (just yesterday) he said he was cancelling my transaction. He did so when the cape had finally arrived and I was trying to make arrangements for delivery. He lied to me so many times about personally bringing the cape to my workplace or home (an hour away) because it was "no problem" "He wants his customers to be happy." Only after texting him the address to my workplace (less than 10) minutes from his business, he sends me a text that he cannot please me and says he is cancelling my transition. In fact, this is HIGHLY ILLEGAL to do because the cape belongs to ME... I have not seen it...there is no balance due on it I FULLY PAID FOR IT! Who in the heck does this and expects to remain in business and touts himself as an exclusive furrier? The reality is, when I first went to pay on the cape in September, I was shocked that this business is in a facility that is about 13X10 room with lots of furs and accessories clogged into the very small space. It smells musty throughout and is claustrophobic if you remain more than 5 minutes. There is no seating in this broom closet, nasty space. There is nooooooooooooooo way I would ever trust this establishment to clean or store my exclusive furs...they couldn't store a rabbit cost if I owned one. I will file a small claim lawsuit against him and report to the BBB as well as all social media and GREEK organizations vendor sites! DO NOT PATRONIZE this unscrupulous business!!!!!! This Black business puts other reputable Black businesses to shame! Very unprofessional and dishonest liars!!! BUYERS BEWARE! PS...
