I have a beautiful fur I purchased a long time ago from R&E. I've used their free storage every year, paid for conditioning every other year (they said it should be every year), and generally did whatever repairs they recommended, though I got tired of being told I needed new fasteners because the existing ones (which they installed) were the wrong kind. But I don't think I can do business with them now that they've left Bethesda. They picked up my coat for storage and took it to their Capitol Heights location where they did a treatment I didn't authorize. I spoke to the manager and he agreed that since I hadn't been informed and hadn't given permission, the cost would be taken off my bill. Trying to arrange for delivery of the coat, an assistant (who was part of the call where I was told I wouldn't be charged) kept trying to collect that fee from me. And she was very rude about my not having noticed wear and tear (I'm visually impaired) that they thought required costly repairs. She set up a delivery date with me, and the coat didn't come as scheduled, which I think was punishment from her. She just couldn't or wouldn't grasp the principle that you can't unilaterally decide to do something to somebody's property and send them the bill. When they had the storefront, I could try on my coat and review its condition with a salesperson, though I still always felt I was being upsold. Along the way I tried to find out from the manager whether it made sense to invest significant money repairing a coat that old, but got nowhere. Not sure what to do now. I do love the coat. But since I'm not likely to go anywhere this season, I guess I'll just let it hang. read more

i have really really disappointed in this business. I asked for my furs to be delivered for the winter season in November. they would not give me a time until the day of the delivery. i called on that day, and they didnt even open for delivery notices until 10am. Who starts delivering at 10am????? they wouldnt give me a window for delivery, just between 1-4p. unacceptable. even plumbers, electricians, comcast (even) give 2 hour delivery windows. I am a hurricane Sandy victim. Please NEVER purchase any fur at Rosendorf Furs. my story. I bought a vest and a coat from the store 4 days before hurricane sandy. my house was evaluated and we lost everything. I called the store and spoke with the manager told him I wanted to cancel the fur coat that he was going to deliver - but not to send because my house is gone and I needed to money to REPAIR my home. Oct 2013. They have the coat - after the LEFT it on the evaucated house door step in FEB 2013! it was sent 2 other times, both time it was not signed and returned to the store - BECAUSE THE HOUSE IS EVACUATED . The coat was never worn, but they REFUSE To credit my account. I am homeless, and they still refuse to refund - they negotiated with AMX and gave back $1,000 (last week) and still HAVE THE COAT! I have no home and the can give me back the $3000 I paid for a fur coat before my life changed. DO NOT EVER place you trust in Rosendorf furs. The man who sold me the coat is gone. Diane says I signed something - which they could not produce. they sent the coat 3 times to the evacuated home!! can you believe the nerve of these people?? Stay far away - tell everyone if you want a fur, buy from a reputable company with Ethics. Go to w/ Miller Furs in Tysons if your looking for a nice coat and ethical people. Many years ago my wife and I stopped in the Rosendorf -Evans Furs store at Tysons Corner. Furs were still popular then and the "killing of poor little animals" was not an issue. My 4 ft. 10in wife tried a few furs on by they all made her look 4 ft. 10 in. wide. It was fun but we never thought about furs again. Over those umpteen years, there has been call after call of recorded messages from Rosendorf- Evans about special sales and even ones in the summer that remind us that my wife's fur "that she does not own" must go to a special refrigerated place for safekeeping, We laugh about how we got on and remain on this list of fur owners and the relentless calls that have been generated. read more

Called them to get a quote on their storage pricing. The lady who answered (Nahet) would only quote the cost per season. She could not define the length of a season so that I could determine how much it would cost in a year to store the coat. If asked if a season was winter/spring/summer/fall she said it was April - May then said it was Jan 1 - Dec 31. Because she was unclear in defining what a season was, I asked her the price for storage for a full year and she kept replying that the cost was 59.99 for a season. When I asked her who the manager was she said she wasn't in. I had to keep asking the same question before she would give me a name, stressing that I needed a name. I am wary of any place that can not answer the questions asked of them and then gets an attitude with you with you do. Use caution if using them. read more

Sent four garments for cleaning and annual storage in April. One item had a memory repair request. When they delivered the garments tow were not cleaned and in terrible shape. One that was supposed to have the minor repair apparently had been damaged, but they claimed it was torn on arrival. They returned the farmer with terrible patches above the pockets. This should have never happened considering the reversible coat left my home in pristine condition. I was very upset and called. The manager had the driver one back and pick up my coats, that was more than two months ago. I have called for two months every week and left a message for the manager. My calls have never been returned and the sales associates could never give me any information. The associates would never even take my name or phone number, even at my request. They would tell me that I just had to call back. I complained weekly that there was no excuse for them to refuse to give the manager a message. After months of this, I asked my husband to call. My husband had to leave a message on there voice mail but the sales associate called him back the same evening. They told him my cape was out in long term storage. No explanation given. They said my other jacket was ready to pick up. No explanation given!!! My husband called them back and told them the manager had told us they would be returned via free delivery. They said it would be another week! That the truck was full! I called and once again and asked to speak to the manager. Why in the hell would they not call me after what they put me through, I'd my farmers are really ready? Another thing, all four of my garments were sent to them in original bags from the former furies. One of the bags was very nice cloth. They apparently lost my nice fur bags and brought them in cheap plastic clear bags like a dry cleaner. My soft fox - trims were no longer shinny and soft. They ruined the Fox trim on the capes. The only cost that appears to still be in good condition was the full length. But they ruined the custom made reservesable mink coat. At this point, they have not even offered to file an insurance claim or reimburse me. Tyson's corner should consider not renewing the lease. I waited several months to post this, because I believed any reputable furrier would make appropriate steps to amend their actions. These are very high end expensive capes and coats. read more

THEY LOST MY MOTHER'S 15K MINK! I am new to the region and I took my mother's fur for cold storage in June 2019. They talked me into having it altered for a total cost $875.99. On 10/24/19, Mario Jamison, the store manager, phoned me to share that the fur had been shipped from their warehouse to the store via UPS but this reputable shipping company had delivered not to the store but to someone's home address. I reached out to UPS and they have no record of such a shipment. Our insurance carrier has requested the timeline with tracking numbers, address of delivery and confirmation of name of person who signed for the coat. We have left multiple messages for Mario with no response. We also have requested refund of the monies paid to Rosendorf-Evans. It is not a wonder that they have a rating of C with the BBB. If you read the other yelp reviews and the reviews tied to the rating on BBB, you will see a pattern of "losing" furs. Perhaps we should each file a police report against this furrier. I hope to see all who have been wronged by this business in small claims court. We will not allow them to get away with this action and neither will our insurance carrier. Absolutely unacceptable. Customer service is the about the worst ever. I bought my long fur and it started to fall apart the first winter I had it. When I took it in to be fixed, they still hadn't taken care of it a month later. I went to pick it up because I was concerned that it would get misplaced during their renovations. Now a year later, I asked them to repair it, which they said they would do after I paid my cleaning balance. The coat wasn't even cleaned! Wouldn't they have made me pay for the cleaning when I picked it up? Of course. But they didn't, because it was not ever cleaned! True customer service at this point would be to throw in the cleaning anyway for my inconvenience. Their coats are not quality and clearly customer service is not their priority. Stay away! Oh and to add to my review... It was the "new" management that I was speaking to after the renovations. They clearly did not want to take on the previous managements problems. My advice is... The new management may be great to purchase from now, you are giving them a sale of course! But how will they treat you down the road should you run into issues with your fur? read more

I recently shopped Rosendorf-Evans and after reading the reviews was very skeptical but I found out that they are under new management and have made several improvements I was looking for a cape with a fox trim and something unique for my travels. I had the best experience with the new store manager and will be storing my several coats here this summer. If you have not been in the last month you should really try and go back. It is a woman manager now and shes amazing. We even talked about our extensive travels across the United States. read more

In March, 2015,I took my mother's full length mink coat to Rosendorf/Evans to have the lining repaired and also to have my monogram put in it in a dark brown thread. At that visit, I also asked for an appraisal. The saleswoman, Jin, said she would have the appraisal completed for me when I returned to pick the coat up. She is a very good sales person, as she convinced me that I needed to have the coat cleaned and conditioned. I returned to the store to pick up my refurbished coat and noticed the monogram lettering was incorrect. Additionally, there was no appraisal document for me. I drove 75 miles home, fuming about the general lack of attention to detail employees seem to have these days. I drove back to the shop again to pick up my coat. I looked at the monogram before I left, and they had sewn it in with a terrible shade of gray thread! There still was no appraisal. I asked about that, and they informed me it would cost $80 for this service. I was really quite irritated by this. All of the time and effort I had wasted due to their inability to follow instructions in the sewing room, then being charged $80 for a five minute process. I was able to convince the sales clerk that I should be comped the appraisal due to the inconveniences I had been subjected to. He finally concurred and gave me the appraisal gratis. Very poor service with sales persons you cannot understand. I will NOT go back. read more

I took my mother's 40+ year old beautiful full length mink coat, with male skins, to Rosendorf's to have it remodeled as a throw/blanket. After an unacceptable period of time, and my money, they presented me with a poorly made throw, without the original embroidery with my mother's name (a specific request made at the time of the order). They returned a few pieces of "scrap" fur left from the work, not nearly what should have been left over from the coat. And the scraps they returned were all female skins. There are more issues, but I will not take the time or space to detail them here. I have shared their handiwork with Gartenhus Furs at Tysons Galleria. Their experienced furrier was quite stunned to see the quality, or rather the lack of it. It was she who pointed out the switch of the skins. I urge anyone reading this who may be thinking of either buying a fur or fixing an existing one to go elsewhere. Never go near Rosendorf. One clue from them: they do not post names of corporate officers, and would not provide any information on a store manager. What is being hidden here? read more

I have never been disappointed in the services provided by Rosendorf Evans - Tysons Corner - Over the years I have purchased a superb full length mink coat, a lovely two tone mink jacket, a beaver vest with mink trim vest, a mink hat and mink earmuffs - I am enjoying them all - I had the full length mink hemmed (I am short) and was very pleased with the results. I have always had them properly cleaned and stored with Rosendort-Evans. So looking forward to a cold winter! read more

THEY LOST MY MINK COAT! First of all they stored the coat for several years. When my Mom passed away, I thought I would like to have the coat restyled so I could wear coat. But after 2.5 years of searching, they are unable to find it, and say that it was "picked up". They can not produce any paper work stating who or when it was picked up. They actually tried to offer me another old coat WITH SOMEONE ELSES NAME embroidered in it as compensation! In the mean time, the original manager has left, then Diane has left, and now there is another "new" manager. I went to the store last week and I was told the manager is getting adjusted and will call me next week. Well, it's the middle of next week and guess what? Yup! No phone call back. Im calling again today. Pretty sure it's time for small claims court. It's not that it was a $40,000 mink, but it was my moms. DO NOT STORE YOUR COAT WITH ROSENDORF! read more

The quality of the workmanship of garments from this furier is unacceptable! I recently received a mink vest that was a replacement garment for a mink that was stolen from their company van and the vest immediately began unraveling at the underarm. I contacted the store and they refused to repair their garment made for me.......saying I signed an agreement and they would not assume any responsibility for repairing the vest that they made. I will never do business again with this company. It took them 4 years to replace my mink coat and the replacement article I agreed to accept was a vest.......the least they should have done is give me a quality replacement garment. My coat was in storage with them and they did not contact me when my coat was stolen! The only reason I found our that it was stolen was because I called to have my coat available for pick up and it was then I found out my coat was stolen from their company van! read more
