The first time, they replaced a spark plug, costing me about $200. Two weeks later, the light returned. This time a $687 repair for a completely different issue. Less than two weeks after that, the light came on again. On my third visit, even though their posted opening time is 9 a.m., the technician, Randy, didn't actually show up until after 9:08. He was rude, didn't greet me, and dismissed my concerns instead of offering any apology or empathy. He handed me a paper with another new code and quoted labor costs of $160, with no parts even required. Despite their supposed warranty, I've had to return repeatedly. Each time, a new code, a new cost, and dismissive treatment. Randy even remarked that my car is old and implied I should expect ongoing issues. Yet this doesn't excuse poor service. If I could give zero stars, I would. I can't recommend this shop to anyone looking for accountability or respect.

After a couple weeks, they started to squeak pretty bad so I took it back in. Even though they were not the pads that he supplied, he replaced the pads, resurfaced the rotors, and did not charge me a penny for labor or material. Read before you bring your car here, NO general liability insurance, NO accountability…read moreAfter years of been a customer of Andy at Upland Mercedes Repair, sadly I feel like people should be aware of the risks involved in having your vehicle serviced at Upland Mercedes, first of all I have 5 vehicles and I would alternate between the dealership and Andy and let me start by saying that the prices Andy charges are about the same as the dealership however a big difference is that the dealership will use original parts and certified technicians while Andy uses aftermarket parts and a generic oil that is not approved by Mercedes and non certified technicians that can potentially damage your vehicle, meaning that if you're vehicle has an existing warranty and the engine or transmission fails your warranty will be voided, and you will be left with a huge bill for thousands of dollars, and believe me there's not a big difference in price for an oil change is practically the same as whatever Upland Mercedes charges, however the convenience of having it just down the street was good enough for me to bring my vehicles to Andy for minor repairs, until my past experience and I hope that my experience helps others not to pay the price I paid for "convenience"... so I brought my sprinter to Andy for an oil change and hoping to safe some time I asked him if it was at all possible to replace my drive shaft bearings and he said yes, not a problem, then again the quoted price was ultimately just a 100 dollars shy of what the dealership price was but thinking about saving me a trip I decided to go ahead and get it done, BIG mistake and I regret not investing the time in going to the dealership instead, considering it was about 4 hours of labor dropped off my van on Tuesday to make sure that would be ready by Thursday as I had to start a 10 day job on the weekend using this van, however things became complicated at the shop, parts and probably an inexperienced mechanic, after several phone calls and reassurance that the vehicle would be ready for the job I had coming up, he finally told me on Friday afternoon that the van wouldn't be ready so he was only able to replace two bearings and put the old ones back and would try again on Tuesday to replace the entire drive shaft, however having the need for the vehicle to be fully repaired and functional I picked it up and took it to the dealership to be diagnosed while it was inspected they realized that the new bearings were installed backwards causing pressure on the transmission and ultimately damaging the vehicle's transmission, I informed Andy about this and was on the phone trying to figure out some way to solve this situation without having a major blow to any of us however he decided he didn't want to pay for the damage caused by his shop and I ended up paying over $15k in repairs after the disaster that Andy's mechanics caused on my van, not to mention the $15k loss for the job I couldn't do, so ultimately a $30k dollar loss due to a negligent job performed by Upland Mercedes Repair mechanics, and no accountability from them even when I try to work things out to make it easier on both sides but no answers from Andy, anyway in addition to this also started to notice at some other visits recommendations for repairs not really needed but I am a true believer on preventative maintenance so had them done anyway but in the end years of customer loyalty didn't matter, Andy refused to make him self accountable for his mistake and the negligence of his mechanics, be aware that any reputable shop will carry an insurance policy to cover for these mistakes, and I requested Andy to put the claim through the insurance but instead he stopped answering the phone and ignoring my messages, so that just shows that he doesn't really care for his customers and that's the kind of support you will get from him should anything like this happens to you, so before you put your vehicle at risk think twice, specially if you have an existing warranty on your vehicle you will end up paying tens of thousands of dollars for saving a few bucks, oil changes at the dealership run for $269 Andy charges $249 using a generic oil not even Mobil 1, that's why they want you to change your oil every 5k miles or before as he knows the oil is subpar to what your Mercedes needs. I have all the documentation regarding this incident, the diagnosis of the dealership and all receipts of services performed by Upland Mercedes Repair over the years. Hope this helps others to make a better choice and choose wisely as where to have your vehicle service.

Trust that the mechanic knows more than you and will diagnose and fix what actually need, not what they want to do. Martin is that guy. He will give you the truth, not push you to act and charge you fairly. We used to travel almost an hour to our mechanic and now this is much closer. You may not know me personally and that's okay. But I care about value and quality and I'm switching over to Martin taking my cars there now. Let me also add that his communication with me BEFORE I became a customer was excellent. It says a lot about him as a person. Even if you're not in the area, it'd worth the drive. Just set an appointment ahead of time and you'll be more than satisfied with the service!
