Kathleen told she would contact United Health Care and contact me by phone for my portion of the payment. Kathleen called on Aug. 25 and left a message with my financial responsibility and asking me to return her call. I called her right back and her receptionist transferred to me to her phone. She did not answer so I left a message with my name and phone number. She never returned my call. I had a previously scheduled appointment for Aug. 28 at 9am. When I got to her office there was a sign on the door giving a new office address. I went to the new address and was told that I didn't have an appointment and Kathleen wasn't in yet, even though another client was waiting to be seen by her. The receptionist told me that she had canceled my appointment because she didn't get ahold of me by phone. Kathleen strolled in shortly after 9am. She told me to have a seat while she settled in. I demanded that the situation be addressed immediately. She had never even ordered my hearing aids and told her receptionist to schedule me sometime in September. I have registered a formal complaint with UHC and am referred to another provider. Kathleen Burch is a very inept business person.

Completion of the tests determined I was borderline in need of hearing aids. He gave me his honest professional opinion which was appreciated. I called East Coast in Fayetteville and spoke to a manager...Whitney. Not only was she arrogant but not a problem solver or a manager who took ownership of her position. Instead of solving my issue she didn't understand what I was saying, nor would move ahead in solving an issue two years in the making. Few skills Whitney possessed and my conversation fell upon deaf ears. Nothing accomplished whatsoever...this is what happens when something arises and the manager is lazy or is unwilling or worst of all unknowing how to solve it. I felt like I was talking to the computer she was looking at and expecting a response which didn't come. I will be glad to shop elsewhere as I wouldn't feel comfortable trusting my hearing to a group of not caring individuals.

I called after 2 weeks and they we not in. I called a few days later, still not in. they kept telling me they didn't know why they we not in. All I kept getting was NO ANSWERS!! I asked why didn't they call their vendor. 4 weeks later glasses came in I opened the glass case put a soft cloth on them to clean and the frames broke in my hand. I will never go back to these Jokers again. There are many good eye care places in our area, this is not one of them!!

I went in today to have a regular eye exam. Do you want to order some contacts? I said sure. So I got to the desk to check out and the woman behind the desk said we will bill your insurance company but today you need to pay $59.99 for a contact exam. I told her I did not have a contact exam and she said well you did and you are being charged for it. I said the contact exam is a different exam. I asked her to get the doctor and she refused!!!!! I had only one exam for my regular eyesight. She proceeded to tell me if I order contacts I gotta pay for an exam. I told her I'm not paying for any exam nor do I want any contacts. The doctor is great, but I do not appreciate trying to be ripped off for a charge for a service that I did not receive. I will never go back there again.

This is a very different kind of practice review!…read more 1) First of all, it has stood the test of time -- my opinions have not changed, other than to reflect the positive movement over time as I have adjusted to bi-lateral cataract surgery. You might take some significant positivity from the simple fact that after slightly more than a year from my last visit to the office, I remember the people's names below. 2) I happen to be DEAF -- this means that my EYES are significantly more important to me than they are for hearing people. I NEVER TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED! Any impairment of my eyesight has a super major impact upon my life and my abilities to react with the world around me. My eyes ARE my ears also!! 3) In general, this practice distinguishes itself from others, including hospital based practices, for exceptionally strong, people oriented, very friendly and genuinely caring STAFF! Lets start with the font desk, LAURA -- she's a gem! The paperwork can be confusing, she takes care of ANY problems so that they never crop up again! She's vivacious and always had a personal comment to make the visit pleasant and actually enjoyable. Allen -- he's definitely a plus on the office and technical side of the practice! He manages very complex scheduling needs, and manages to rearrange appointments when sudden impact events require changes!! He's also very adept with some of the technical testing machines as well!! He's a very positive guy. Sam -- he's the chief technician in the office. Sam manages to be super efficient, while being genuinely friendly and open and encourages engagement with his patients. Never fear asking Sam questions! If he cannot answer, he certainly knows who can -- and I suspect he tips 'em off because these others lead their arrival in the exam room with the answers!! This is a major plus for the practice! Amanda -- she's a part of the technical staff, and closing in on Allen and Sam in terms of her abilities. The medical staff I interacted with were Drs. Stewart, Dexter and Heater: Dr. Stewart is a world renown eye surgeon famous for his work with Lions International, the group that referred me to Eye Surgeons of CNY when another practice seriously dropped the ball. This is one busy physician!! Still, he found the time to meet me during my first visit and got to know me a bit -- which honestly, was not expected! It DEFINITELY was appreciated! Dr. Dexter is the most active surgeon in the practice. He's friendly, engaging, and actually manages to remember personal details from conversations not part of the patient chart!! Outstanding!! This man is tops in his field -- and gave me corrections BETTER than 20/20 which have held. I'm in awe of what I can see, which is significantly better than I had been expecting. Dr. Heater is the practice's Doctor of Optometry. She participates in the pre and post surgical evaluations. Dr. Heater is vivacious, efficient, and very effective with what she does!

Dr Dexter…read moreand his staff were very professional and explained everything in advance and that i did have other options, but this was the best chance to free myself from the glasses that I had been wearing for the last 25 years. It has been 10 days since my surgery and I do not need my glasses except for very small print. I am very happy with the results and would definitely recommend Dr Dexter and his staff to help you with your eye problems.
