This was our group's favorite place to eat in Ludenburg! The owner was very friendly and accommodating. He pushed three tables together so all ten of us could eat together. Most ordered pizzas and salads. Everything was delicious! They have a huge variety of drinks. He even gave us peanut m&ms for dessert. The pizza is OK. The service is very good. But the advertising (mainly their website) presents the business as though it is something else. The imagery suggests they make wood-fired pizza (spoiler: they don't) and they call themselves "gourmet" but they are, instead, a standard rural Nova Scotian pizzeria. Also J3 is a bit expensive for what it is. Pizza of comparable quality in Bridgewater and Halifax is significantly cheaper. read more

I'm missing the shawarmas from my old neighbourhood in Toronto so wanted to give this place a shot. Owners are Lebanese and they have some middle Eastern dishes as well as pizza etc. Shawarma was a bit of a disappointment tbh. Meat not like shawarma meat, pretty flavourless. Pita seems stale. Wildly fluctuating/inconsistent prices. Got charged nearly $40 for a simple 18" pepperoni pizza. The crust has become dry and the topping increasingly sparse over the years. They call themselves a Mediterranean Grill but the food is mostly just deep-fried prefab food and generic pizza. I also dislike that they use their pizza boxes to advertise their son's side hustle business by stapling his business cards to the box. I cannot recommend this place because 1) the quality is very basic 2) the price point doesn't match the quality 3) they are consistently inconsistent. Excellent pizza and Donairs!! We also snagged the Donair poutine and the potato skins. Everything was so good! This is a great spot that's still open after everything else closes on the main street in Lunenberg at 8 or 8:30. Owner is lovely and friendly. We ordered Deluxe vegetarian pizza, it was soaking wet, the water/liquid was dripping from the pizza, when served into the plate, the plate got wet. Very disappointed with the pizza. We visited because the ratings for this place on yelp were good, but found it otherwise. read more

I don't usually go here that much, because my mom supports The Pizza Cut another great pizzeria in Lunenburg. But, they still make great pizzas tho. Their pizzas are way better than Recardo's and they do make good pepperoni pizzas. They even have other food items besides pizzas. One time, I tried a foreign cuisine there (I forget what it was) and it was decent. The whole reason to go there is if you are looking for a good pizza in Lunenburg that is not from The Pizza Cut. I'd highly recommend this pizzeria to anyone who wants to have their first pizza in Lunenburg. Not much I can say other than J3s pizzas are must have. read more

In town for two days, I needed to find a place to grab a bite to eat. It's windy, rainy, and a bit cold. My vote goes to the joint up the street from my hotel because I really don't want to eat at the restaurant downstairs. When I walk into J3 Pizza the ambiance is exactly what I like: small and casual. The man behind the counter greets me and after a quick glance into the kitchen it's clear I'm going to get the doner (spelled here as donair). I can see the majesty of the vertical spit and know this restaurant does NOT use pre-cut meat. He asks how I know about donair, and taken by surprise I reply it's something I eat fairly regularly at home in Washington DC. Maybe I should have told him I'm half Iranian and grew up in a very international town so I've eaten Turkish, Lebanese, Greek, and Arab variations of this dish everywhere from DC to the UAE. But he KNEW. He knew. He could tell. As my meal is prepared (I got the medium and it's a ton of food) he asks me if I've ever had the sweet sauce. I haven't. He tells me it's a Nova Scotia thing and I may or may not like it. It's unclear if he put the sauce on the side because I could add or subtract it as I please or if that's standard, but once again HE KNEW. And that sauce? Something is wrong with Nova Scotia. It was gross but I'm not one for sweet foods. But the rest? I did not expect such a plain wrap to be so satisfying. The meat was good and not overly spiced. The onions and tomatoes were fresh and perfect. Yogurt may have been a nice addition but it didn't need it to be a good meal. I've had a lot of donair dressed up with toppings and sauces. I never expected a small town in Nova Scotia could serve up such a decent, dressed down donair. If they are open before I leave town tomorrow I'll grab lunch here to take on the road. read more

Great little pizza joint. Many locals eat here pretty good prices for being in a tourist area. Had a bluenose pizza. Basically a meat lovers. Half with no cheese as intolerant to it and came loses with extra toppings. 16" and two pops and tip was $40.00. I think pizza was $24.99. read more

Based on reviews alone and the fact this is a family owned restaurant, I was so looking forward to loving this place. My husband and I, after spending much on seafood during our visit, just wanted a quiet, reasonably priced meal that included some salad for me and the fried scallops for him - the ones people posted about enjoying in other reviews. We were seated quickly as we were the only people there on a rainy Friday night, even though the town appeared full of parked cars and busy. Food came out...my Greek salad was bland, and so were my husband's scallops- he said they were just tasteless. His fries were limp and unpleasantly greasy. We had also ordered a 12" spinach pizza so I could have a slice with my salad and we could have the rest for lunch while traveling the next day. The pizza too was totally bland with not nearly enough toppings to justify a $18.99 price, which I only noticed when we were paying. Even adding salt and repelled flakes didn't help. Also, once we were served, they just forgot about us. Don't forget we were the only customers there aside from one walk-in local. We sat there for quite some time and finally had to get up and ask for the box and check. We were surprised (as I mentioned above- I just didn't see the price of the "specialty" pizza) that our bill was around $45. I dislike leaving negative reviews, however I want people to have our honest experience to better make decisions about where to spend their money. This was the only place in town that truly disappointed and left us feeling grumpy. read more

great portions, decent prices, GREAT friendly service. scallops and fries? yup! all the time for me. I love the batter, it's thin and very flavorful. the fries are hand cut and skin on baby, not too greasy at all. if you are in town it's a def stop in. ps: pretty view from the deck too :) read more

Definitely a cheaper place to eat at than the other restaurants near the harborfront in Lunenberg! Owners are Lebanese, and serve a variety of food - from shawarmas, donairs, to pizzas, to ice cream, to fish and chips! Husband got the pizza and beer combo for $8, the pizza slice was equivalent to 2 regular slices, they were huge! Pizza was fresh and delicious. They had a fried scallop and chips combo for $9, again, ybery good, and their fish and chips were quite reasonable as well. They had 12 wings for $10, and they weren't small like the other reviewer commented. They also sold the homemade ice cream brand as well. They have a seating area at the back of their store and patio seeing outside overlooking the water. It's more of an order and sit down place than full table service, but food was still good! read more

This place was great. I ate the donair zerotti for lunch, my wife and mother in law ate the shawarma and on our way out we were so pleased we planned our supper and got the bluenose pizza for supper. The same guy who worked earlier delivered the pizza that night. He was very friendly saying he remembered me from earlier that I was going to get the bluenose and he thought it was me while he was coming to deliver it.
