The staff were attentive and friendly, walking around to each table to check on each person and guide them along the process. The work areas were large and it was nice sound with others to guide and help each other also. There really wasn't an overall explanation on how to do the monogram on the box so we struggled with this until a staff member came by and guided us on the process but by then all but 1 monogram was on a box. Wish there would have been just a bit more overall instructions on this is how we put on and take off the monogram. Overall the experience was lovely and I think everyone really enjoyed it. Great place to have a party or come take part in a workshop.

They had ewctangular tables lined up through the shop that accommodated like 8 people a piece. They setup supplies and everything the kids would need to build, personlaize, and paint their wooden boxes. They walked everyone through the process at the same time and took the time to check on everyone during the process. They allowed us to bring in food and drinks for the party so their was a mixture of home made and store bought stuff. As far as I could tell, the kids all enjoyed it and so did the parents who also participated. It was definitely a neat experience and something thatwould be fun for younger families and maybe even a corporate outing or something similar. The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our time there. For most of our group, it was our first time. You start by grabbing your piece, deciding on a design, choosing your colors, then you paint your design, and add the number of layers that they recommend. There were so many great pieces to choose from that were all reasonably priced. During the time we were there it was busy, but easy to move around the shop and quiet enough for our group to all chat while we worked. Johnny has been our instructor on more than one occasion and he's always so thoughtful with his instructions and so patient with everyone, It's always easy to reserve a wheel via text or phone call, which is recommended on busy weekends and evenings, but you can also drop in. There are several wheels in the studio and tables for adding the finishing touches like handles or other accents. You'll photograph your piece to locate it after it's been fired then return about a month later to glaze your piece. Make sure to paint three layers or the color will be super faint. A month after that you'll return to pick up your masterpiece and become hooked like me.

I emailed the studio and was instructed to come to an open studio session. It was free style. The staff was polite, but it is not a workshop. I thought I would learn the craft, including how to mix resin. If I had known that it is studio time with supplies added I would have found a picture, sketched it at home on my own 11x14 canvas (which is $15 extra) and brought in other media to complete my project. Example: twigs and leaves brought from home and make glass birds to sit on the branch. I know they don't make much off of Groupon, but I use Groupon to try new places, not for the cheap deal. A true workshop would have resulted in my repeat business.

It was clear our pieces touched when I mentioned to the person at the front when dropping them off that both were still wet and where (I made sure to carry them very carefully to the front). And mine has a color stain from another piece that I'm guessing was next to it. I'd love to come back, but not sure if that will be the case if this is how the pieces that we worked so hard on are treated.
