Needed material to fire up my sewing machine. Found some beautiful fabrics i guess i gave into them a tad lol. Building some covers for my appliances but doesn't mean i cant make em look cute too. I also picked up an Embroidery kit and extra pieces. I couldn't find the fabric i needed for that. I wanted something in the super fine. Talked myself out of buying the canvas they sell for it because you can up cycle old jeans for it. Fits my purpose perfectly. I want to make cute custom patches. Starting small and latter ill do like a big one like for jacket or to hang on a wall. I will be back for a circuit in the future. Im interested on a the cutter or the iron and sublimation ones. They made a compact of the cutter one also. I dont have alot of room, this would serve my purpose perfectly. The cup one and iron ones be great for like going to fairs n opening a table to do "on the spot" jobs. Did the mistake of going to the bargain corner. Picked up a car model lit for 7.50. I thought it was like the old school ones i used to buy when i was a kid. They are not. They used to be made of metal. This one was like pvc. Very delicate. I will share the finished one when done. I went with my walker this time but i was being hurried by my company otherwise i would had walked out with more lol read more

Customer service -10. Asked for help at cash register (self check out was only available), you would have thought I had ask for a million bucks ! The attitude was horrible. You would think that with Hobby Lobby just opening up that they would be doing their best. read more

Normally I love this store, but DOUBLE CHECK your pick up orders. Apparently they are being told by higher ups to sub out products instead of cancel them...even if they are cheaper products. There's no email or price adjusting either. If I hadn't caught it, they would have let me pay more for a smaller planter. I wonder how many people they have overcharged who didn't catch it! read more

I like to give a honest updated review off my last visit which was a online pick up order that a young lady who did not give on me when she couldn't find my order! (I can't stand when I can't give a name because I forget to ask or look but I hope you see this) She was awesome looking everywhere for my order that somehow ended up back in framing which I guess they probably just had extra orders but she was running all over the place for these pencils, I told her if they couldn't find it no worries I could come in later but no way she found them and a plus I ended doing some more shopping to add to my goodie bags so it was a great day read more

The store isn't very well-kept and the stock is usually picked over and limited. It always appears somewhat ransacked. I wish I knew the lady who helped me at the registers name. I will make sure I ask her the next time I see her. She is always very helpful, her husband used to be a military service member and we chat every time I am checking out. I ordered my items online for a 'quick' pickup and I was left disappointed. I got there and learned they no longer offer curbside so I take my toddler out and go inside. Inside there's a button to press to advise them you're there for pickup. I pressed the button and waited... Five minutes later no one acknowledged me and I was unable to help myself because my order was too big for the cart they had out in the open. I finally went to the cash register and asked if there was anyone that could assist me. She then went back and grabbed my items... I was in plain sight but she didn't help until I went to the register... Highly disappointed read more

So I do like to shop at this particular Michaels. I come here often and am usually in and out. I don't usually stay too long because it's not hard for me to find what I'm looking for. PROs are it's in a really good location in Brandon. There are many other popular stores in the same shopping plaza along with the Brandon Mall being just across the street as an added bonus and like I said it's pretty easy to find what you're looking for inside. The EMPLOYEES are always nice- ALWAYS SMILING when I make my purchase at the register which makes the experience even nicer because they're the last person you're going to see on your way out of the store so they can really make or break your experience. Now the biggest CON is PARKING; it SUCKS here- big time! Again it is located in a shopping center with so many other stores, the mall across the street AND an AMC movies theater that sits seconds away from its location. In addition I really wish during my shop there for holiday items that there would've been a couple more registers open. Overall, prices are good and there are always reasonable sales, clearances, coupons and discounts (very typical for all Michaels). So I will continue to shop here. read more

Michael's generally does a decent job on custom frames; even when they mess it up (which has happened to me once) they are pretty good about correcting their mistakes. Otherwise, this place is just a soulless amalgamation of scrapbooking supplies and cheap Chinese-made holiday kitsch. Need a light up wreath that sings Christmas carols? How about a skeleton that does a spooky laugh? Couple this with the endless coupons they run, and you have a recipe for old white lady central. 65 aisles, millions of items, 2 cashiers. Leave plenty of time for standing in line here. Terrible parking - Regency Square qualifies as a layer of Dante's Purgatory - but there's a charging station for your Tesla should you need it. Stop by the Starbucks and say hi to me! I'm there all the time. read more

Had a unique canvas stretched & framed. Poor quality on framing..pattern on corners do not match..frame was cut as if they were running out of stock..Canvas was damaged & poorly stretched..Staff said they would file an insurance claim IF we could prove. A professional job was promised but not delivered..The end results upset my wife. Paid over $200 for this. will not use again!! read more

A typical craft store. A bit messy. They have a good paper crafting department, which is where I shop most of them time,,, when I'm not shopping at my favorite craft store, Joann's ! Their coupon policy sucks. One coupon per customer per day. HUH? Haven't they learned from Joann's yet? Big reason why I only come here if Joann's doesn't have what I'm looking for. The prices are comparable to other craft stores, but their coupon policy is ridiculous. The store definitely looks like a step back to the early 90s. Not renovated, and a little run down. They have lots of craft supplies which makes this a great place to shop. The coupon policy is a bit ridiculous in that they only allow one coupon per person per day. Other stores, Joann Fabrics, allows you to use more than one coupon (as long as they are different) per item including a competitor coupon. I think this why Michaels looks so empty compared to Joann's. This is my last resort store... read more

The customer service at this store is terrible! I had a return and there was no one at the customer service. Only one register open with 6 people in line! A manager finally came over and opened a register, by then there were 4 people in each line and it just kept getting worse in that they opened 2 more registers while I was in line. The lines here are always a mess and rarely do the cashiers ever call for backup. Joann has a much better system to get people out quickly & efficiently. read more

This is Michaels. Typical and caters your every need. I cannot be biased and give them 5 stars because I DO shop here often as I am a painter. The reason why they get 3 stars is they're a chain and I so very much want to be able to find a small locally owned art supply shop that doesn't break my wallet as a struggling artist. I do give the employees of this location 5 stars as I have found every single one of them that I have met very helpful and understanding of what I am in search of. Because of these colorful employees I am always happy to come back to stock up on my paints, pencils, and canvases. Oh yeah, the other reason why this location does not deserve 5 stars.... LOCATION!!!! I despise the fact that it's amidst the clusterf*k next to a bunch of chain stores in a crowded plaza. It really drains me just driving there and out of that particular plaza. Eh... What kinda system do they have where they cannot reprint a receipt when they ran out of paper. Literally made me wait 15 minutes for a receipt because the manager had to print it out. Once I got it I didn't even get an sorry for the wait.. just a "here you go." Some of us have corporate cards and we have to submit our receipts in when we do our expenses. Oh and the sheet of paper receipt I got didn't even have the name of the store or any information a normal receipt has. read more

The more I go in this store the more I like it and figure out how to navigate through. For arts and crafts they have a plethora of items but some are definitely higher quality than others so don't just base purchase on price. I am not a huge artsy person but usually find something intriguing to try out. They were pretty cleaned out of items from Christmas but were trying to refill shelves as fast as they could. Also still had done decent Christmas items left at 70% off many items. read more

Place has not changed much over the years, still the best stop for art and crafts supplies. I needed some stuff for a poster last semester and this place came through with flying colors. Sometimes finding help can be a little bit difficult, but if you just find an employee then you can find what you need. The place is usually not that packed as well. read more

I don't go all that much but the prices are good. Typically better than the other arts & crafts establishment here, Joann's Fabrics. Used this store a lot for various items I needed for my wedding. They had premade silk bouquets that were very pretty which I ended up using. I had red roses and my bridal party had white hydrangeas. From what people have told me no one even knew they were fake! A good tip: they compete with Joann's so they will accept their coupons with no problem. read more

They had 4 empty boxes of Airbrush Sets hanging on display that they keep locked up in front cage. When I brought on up to purchase they told me they were out of stock. I asked why they kept the boxes on display if out of stock, manager said it was corperate policy. Waisted my time with this rediculous policy. Manager needs to make the call to change this policy to show she cares about her customers. read more

i visited michaels on Saturday 9/30/17, i got in line to purchase my items apparently they were prescaning to move the lines faster ok; I'm standing there patiently waiting Roz ( the associate) take two people before me, told me she would be right back. went to the other line waited on six caucasion people while i'm still standing there. I'm like excuse me mam what's going on? She took some more people and said ok "ill take you now" . it didn't look VERY GOOD from my perspective. Roz needs to be mindful of how she interacts with ALL customers, no matter their origin. read more

Fantastic framing and great value! Had a hard to find 3D object to frame - a brass door knocker of a girl on a swing. So it is heavy and odd. My Mom is in love with it and had a framing vision for it based on a catalog picture. Nick helped us match her vision with his patient exploration of frames and backing types and colors. It took at least 20 min to get it all right and he listened well and was knowledgeable, responding with options and not strong opinions which is what you want when picking something so personal. A really nice feature was he could show us what the finished product would look like on the computer and printed it out on the receipt. I had taken this object to a frame specialty store first and was told how difficult it would be and thus expensive - I was quoted 3x the price of Michael's and walked away with no confidence they could do it so I went to Michael's. Michael's attitude was very refreshing and you wouldn't expect a chain store to take on challenges but they did and I think they enjoyed it! Brandy did the actual frame job and the attention to detail was obvious. The product was EXACTLY what Mom wanted and she absolutely adores it! I saw Brandy in the back when I picked it up today and thanked her. She was working away, but took the time to say hello. Mom has the art across from her lazy boy and she will get hours of enjoyment looking at it - so much better than TV for her. So I feel we got Nordstrom's service at KMart prices. We caught a 60% framing sale and the price was more than reasonable and the quality was superb. Nothing was out of place - no nicks or marks and they packaged it with foam wrap, bubble wrap and butcher paper. I want that kind of service in framing - it is a pretty personal thing and there are many decisions and options to choose from. Nick carefully unwrapped it so I could look at it. Nick did one final close inspection and picked off a speck of dust before wrapping it up - he wanted to make sure I was happy and it was perfect was what I felt. Then he wrapped it carefully back up and he helped me pick the perfect easel. The amount of time I saved by Nick knowing his job to help us pick the right details was also invaluable. It was a very efficient operation, service/customer oriented and I was happily surprised by the attention to detail I got from a big chain store. So hats off to this team of Brandy and Nick and Michael's for hiring them. They provide a great service I wanted to yelp about! read more

I go here quite often. But I have learned that you have to watch their pricing. I have learned to take a photo of an item's price at the shelf, to show them, if needed, at the check out line. I sometimes have to dispute a price, and this saves me time. Once they realize there is a price discrepancy, they do honor it. So, I do give them props for that. They will apologize for it, but it never gets fixed afterwards. I have been buying storage units there over a period of time, and the pricing is always higher at the check out counter than at the shelf, every time, for the same item, for weeks on end. So buyer beware. Watch the pricing. I also don't like their coupon policy of one coupon per person per day. JoAnnes got them beat where you can use more than one coupon during your visit, as long as it doesn't have the same bar code. But I still enjoy going to this store, just the same. The employees are nice, and there is a nice selection of items to look at, and possibly buy. If it wasn't for the pricing issue, I would give them a better rating. And, I will continue shopping there. They are slightly better than JoAnnes (as long as you don't want to use more than one coupon). read more
