I lost power to 2 Rooms ...I had no idea wtf was going on. I know some basic electrical work but this was beyond my skill level. It was time for a professional. Tech Patrick arrived 1/2 hour early and jumped right in, pulled out additional outlets,switches,cieling fan,light fixtures ... The guy worked his ass off. An open neutral was the cause it was just a matter of finding it. After checking nearly every possible location he decided to run a new neutral line. Had an electrician from Jack Flash stop in today since our lights have been flickering on and off. What I love about them is that I contacted them late the night before and they came immediately the following morning. They were thorough and did a really great job at explaining what the issue is because when it comes to electrical it's always so confusing. Luckily it was nothing wrong with the wiring done in our home and a PECO issue but Jack's team was able to tell me exactly what I need to say to PECO when I call in and even sent me a video so I could further explain. I really wanted things to go well. I'm all about supporting local and family-owned businesses. Most importantly, real and down to earth people. Some of the work done by the team Jack brought in was fine. Other work, not so much. Poor patch work from where wires were pulled in the ceilings for the new recessed lighting. Master bath used without asking. POOR communication from Jack to his team. Work not completed. Floors and carpets filthy. No follow through from Jack. He left job site without a word, leaving his team to "finish." I had to stop them mid-work because Jack obviously instructed them incorrectly after our discussion that morning about what to do. I asked for him to call me to straighten it out and discuss the quote creep, but never heard back. I now have unfinished work and a ceiling fan that won't turn off or change settings. Nice people, some skills, major room for improvements. I support changing careers to pursue a new career but, sorry, I can't recommend. read more

Wow, I don't know where to start. First, I did not here these clowns. They were hired by the previous owner of my house during negotiation. They were hired to do one thing: remove knob and tube wiring. DId they remove it all? Nope! I even have a cute little certificate that says it's all gone. My current electrician found numerous instances of the stuff. On top of that, they had to install some new receptacles. They didn't do that right either. They didn't even electrical tape around the contacts. Who does this at all, let alone with metal junction boxes? This is seriously amateur work. So the knob and tube wiring the did replace, the didn't redistribute back into the circuits correctly. Like a bunch of lazy asses they ran one instance of UF grade outdoor wire up the back of the house (code or not, it's just stupid) and wired back in from there. Now, I have breakers that control a light in one room, half the outlets in another, some lights on another floor, etc. Lazy lazy lazy. Above all else, it's an unsafe load to have on two individual 15 amp circuits. Finally, the build back. They ripped holes all throughout the house. Not silver dollar sized holes. Not fist sized holes. I'm talking holes the size of your head. And tons of them. This is what you do when you can't fish wire. Then, they used simple household spackle build back their work. My wife does better build back than them. I swear, this must have been the day where they brought their slow nephew and humored him, letting him fill giant holes with endless amounts of spackle. I would not hire these amateurs for any reason. Whatsoever! At all! And to top it all off, they charged the seller $5 grand to do this work. So basically, they charged her a fortune to do a sloppy, lazy job. Why does this piss me off? Because this was the main point of contention during negotiation. If there was an option to do negative stars, like take away stars from one of the bullshit positive reviews, I'd do it. read more

BEWARE!!! This guy lends his trucks to family members who AREN'T electricians, nor insured employees! Patrick charged me over $500 to test a breaker, put in an outside outlet, and change bulbs! Demanded payment by check and became aggressive when I started questioning him. The work he did outside has since been redone and was not up to code! I filed suit against him in Abington township but nothing ever happened because I don't know his last name. He told me he was Jack's brother in law but of course the owner is "never available".... A minor adjustment to my "well-priced" assertion: I had a wire that was hanging off my house and asked if they could come by to attach it and avoid any bigger problems. I wasn't home when they came by, but zip-tying the wire to the house didn't require me to be. I came home to a $95 bill, which seems a little outrageous for 15 minutes worth of work. In the future I might stick to them for bigger jobs. read more

Can't really recommend Jack Flash Electric. I called them a month ago to make an appointment to get a live wire terminated in my house. It took them almost a week to return my call. The receptionist said she'd need to call me back to make an appointment and they just never contacted me again. I can't do weekend appointments, so I understand that there needed to be some wiggle room with their schedule. But they should have at least contacted me to tell me they couldn't do the work. read more

When all of the sudden more than half my lights went out in my house I knew I needed to get an electrician out and as fast as possible. I didn't have the opportunity to shop around and that made me nervous. I remember seeing an advertisement for Jack Flash in my Parish Bulletin so I Googled, and what do you know, they had great reviews so I decided to give them a try. They seemed very busy (which is a good thing, in a way - people obviously trust them) - but Patrick came out asap for me. He came at around 4:30pm and we realized pretty quickly that my problem was going to be a puzzling one. He stayed on until about 7:30pm and said he would come back as soon as he could to resume troubleshooting. Knowing I had a big issue, he again freed up some time in his busy schedule to come see me, again after hours, the next night. He arrived at 5pm and he was finally able to solve my issue. He was at my house until 9:30pm working and working to restore my electricity. I was so happy with the service and the fact that he was willing to stay on until the job was done. Honestly, I was a little hesitant having him stay so late because I didn't want to be hit with some kind of an after hours or overtime charge, but at the same time, I really wanted my lights back. When I received my bill, however, I was extremely surprised at how reasonable it was for 7+ hours of labor, and it wasn't easy labor, either - I definitely wasn't charged for after hours. I will be calling them again in the spring to have some more big work done (this time preventative, so that I don't lose my lights again!).. They have my business! UPDATE:: It took two years but I finally was able to get Jack Flash out a couple months back to replace my 100 AMP Panel and entrance cable. Again 5 stars. They were in and out within a half a day and did a great job and were very reasonably priced. I will be having them back out over time to update the wiring of my outlets. Awesome! read more

She even called the night before (on Christmas) to confirm the crew's arrival the next day at 8am. Communication skills for this contractor are A+! They were very honest about my problem I thought I needed to upgrade my electric service to a 200amp jack told me I didn't need it that it was just water getting in service wire. So they replaced service wire meter box, breaker panel and a new ground rod and that solved the problem. They were on time and were done in a half of day. Jack and his team were excellent throughout our entire experience with them. Jack arrived on time to give us an estimate, diligently searched the extent of the issues, and fixed a minor problem with a downstairs outlet free of charge while he was here. Our first floor had been rewired before we purchased the house, but the flippers - AMZ Properties LLC - did not remove the knob and tube wiring on the second and third floors and cut a lot of corners creating some potentially dangerous issues which we didn't know about until Jack discovered the full extent of the problems. Outlets were wired in such a way as to appear grounded, there were no boxes around the wiring of some of our light switches (a fire hazard), there were live bare wires visible in places (another fire hazard), the ceiling fans on the second and third floors were not secured to rafters or joists and a number of other problems. We also decided to upgrade our electric service to 200 amps. Jack gave us a very fair estimate - well below other estimates we received for the same work. He and his team arrived promptly on the first scheduled work day and Jack himself generally arrived earlier than the rest of the guys and stayed late to get the job done on time. They actually finished ahead of schedule. My wife and I both work from home and Jack and his team did their best to keep interruptions to our schedule at a minimum. I really can't recommend Jack Flash Electric and Lighting enough. Not only did he give multiple options based but he put us at ease by letting us know there were not any major safety concerns at the time. Over a years time, after lots of research and bids from other companies, we decided on Jack. His expertise and great personality are hard to come by in finding the right contractor, so it was not a hard choice to make. Jack was extremely fair and thorough. He made it easy to choose the important things to address while working within our budget. Jack rewired 90% of our home replacing the knob and tube, added recess lighting in many rooms and replaced and properly sealed the service panel. He was also determined to get my doorbell working again, which he ended up having to rewire a new chime and at no charge.
