we utilized this company for years when Tom Sr was running the company. We had this company install a heating and an air conditioning unit in our home. Collectively, these units cost us approximately 50,000 dollars. Tom Sr. made over a dozen visits to our home and we were very satisfied with their service until today. He convinced us to purchase a "maintenance contract " to ensure if we have any issues they would honor their contract. Jessica is their customer service representative is condescending and rude. She also claims to be his wife? What happened to Mrs Gallagher who was married to him for over 30 years? Also, Tom Gallagher Sr made dozens of calls to our home, but, now he is "unavailable ". BUYER BEWARE! I am reviewing them again. After the first negative review, they fixed the issues and asked me to change my review. I did, in good faith. And I've regretted it wver since. However, since then they have continued their incompetent antics. Jack Frost has failed to uphold their contract. Throughout 2024, our system was losing pressure. After speaking with and sending pictures to the manufacturer, it was identified that Jack Frost had improperly installed the unit, as Tom Jr removed the auto feed and located it elsewhere in the piping, against the manufacturers requirement. In February of 2025, Tom Jr. installed the auto feeder where Navien required, and this fixed our issue of losing pressure. However, it was identified the installers never included an auto release on the pressure valve and Tom Jr did not properly install piping, causing pressure build up and a significant burn risk on the pressure release valve. We had a company check for leaks and none were found. Jack Frost isolated the HEATING side of the unit only, and it maintained pressure. The assumption is there is a leak. However, no other testing was done by the company. We had reiterated that there was no leak found. Tom Jr. suggested Jack Frost would recipe the heating loop and explained the heat and domestic hot water are seperate, and a leak would NOT affect the hot water. However, when I called in April 2025, Jack Frost refused to estimate the job as they suggested. In March and April, I called multiple times to have someone come because our domestic hot water would turn cold for approximately 60 seconds during every shower. They refused to come out, as out contract requires. We are now in May, and they have refused to follow their contract. Read fine print because they force you into a contract for 12 months and that they give you a discount on the unit and install for this contract. There is no discount. They advertise a 24/7 service contract but they only come btwn 9-5, M-F. Weekends are extra charges and thwy do not come out at night or for emergencies. read more

We have had a Maintenance Membership with Jack Frost Heating & Air Conditioning, LLC for about 4 years now and couldn't be more pleased with their service. There have been several times we needed to call in a technician for our furnace, A/C, and/or water heater. The entire team has always been professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. When dealing with Jack Frost you never feel pressured or rushed to make a decision and they always ensure you understand your options. Recently we called to ask for an evaluation of our HVAC system. The owner Tom came out and discussed the age of our unit and the different options available; including a program from our gas company that could help us with financing and rebates. Since our unit was at the end of its life, we decided to go with a new system now before running into trouble a year or two down the road. The entire process from start to finish was seamless. Their team was very efficient and completed the job in a timely manner. Everyone went above and beyond our expectations! We highly recommend Jack Frost for all your HVAC needs. read more

We used Jack Frost for several years until recently. We had good experience with Tyler in the past. They installed a thermoflow indirect water tank for us that rusted out (top and bottom) and flooded our basement after only 4 years. My receipt says lifetime warranty on the tank and 5 years parts and labor. They refused to honor the labor warranty and said the tank could only be replaced under warranty with the exact same model from Thermaflow which had no ETA for arrival. Meanwhile, while we were without hot water, they blamed our water despite having a water softener and our previous tank lasted 17 years. I offered to pay for service and labor if they discounted an alternate tank option for us and they declined and refused to stand behind their or manufacturers warranty. This just isn't a good way to treat customers and we cannot recommend them. read more

Run, don't walk from this company. Hired them in 2022 to install a new unit. They charged me for a permit, but found out there was never a permit pulled. I've had issues with this unit, and any time I call their partner who is in Sarasota, and who installed the unit, he's never available. The owner of the company in Jax tells me, " we can't get ahold of him either, and there's nothing we can do". Shouldn't be my problem, but it is now. read more

Had a new complete furnace and a/c unit installed by this so-called company. Even the metal chimney not a year later was leaking water when rained I called, they gave me all excuses not to come repair leak said not their problem we don't do roof work, but they were on roof to take out old chimney and put in new one in very rude and not customer friendly. Now they want to charge me a service fee and diagnostic fee it's to be warranty if warranty for a year WHY charge these fee? Service is fantastic. Mario, Brian put new ductless system in today, and I only just requested to have installed late last week. Team knew was important and they made it happen thanks Tyler. Two years ago I had an air conditioning unit installed (9500) and paid $300 for the year long service contract. Last week water began leaking through my ceiling, and when I called them to come out because it was the air conditioning unit that was the problem they refused to come out. They were very rude to me, and when I asked why they would not stand behind their work, and the unit is only two years old, they accused me of having had somebody else to my house to service it which never happened. when I said that nobody else had come to my house to service it, they accused me of not having it serviced and that there was no warranty and they would not come out. I had to pay for another HVAC company to come out, and they determined that one of the pipes was installed incorrectly, causing a blockage which then led to a water leak through the system causing major damage to my second floor ceiling Jack Frost refused to come nor were they willing to discuss any of what happened with me. I would not recommend this company. There should be a zero star option for companies like this who treat their customers so unconscionably. read more

Please pay attention to the 1-star reviews. They are there for a reason. This company is completely awful. In July I had a leak from my a/c unit condenser drain line that was flooding the ceiling of my downstairs neighbor. They came out charged a diagnostic fee and allegedly cleared the drain line. Neighbor calls 4 hours later with it leaking again. Called and spoke to the owner and he said they could come the following day for a Saturday fee now and another diagnostic fee because "something else must be wrong" Refused to work on the fees and wouldn't admit they did anything wrong. Called All Day and Night Services they came out at 11pm the same night and blew the drain line in both directions and it fixed the problem and it was $200 cheaper to get the same service at 11pm on a Friday night. Apparently, Jack frost only cleared from 1 side and the clog was to the other side of where they went in. The owner was involved and just didn't care about working to find a solution. read more

I called Monday morning, Alex was here in an hour! Ended up having to replace the 30 yr old system (no shocker there). The team showed up the next day 9 AM, removed the old system and had the new Lennox system installed and fully functional by 4:30! I found them to be very professional and efficient. TOTAL BAIT AND SWITCH!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Had Tom out to check my AC that had stopped working, he stated he would run coolant for a set price and that would fix the issue. After doing so he stated the compressor was not working and would need to be replaced, quoted me around 4k and i have to pay around $450 for running the coolant but if I replaced the compressor, he would waive the $450. This compressor was only a year old mind you. Not know any better, and having a family in extreme heat, I agreed to replacing the compressor. After paying the 4k the compressor was never the problem, now it was a piece in the the evaporator coil, and of course that piece couldnt be changed, the entire coil would need to be replaced, another $1500... So $5,500 for a job that should have been $1,500... would avoid at all costs!! Will never use again... read more

Update 2/4/22: On 2/2/22 I was contacted by the senior owner of Jack Frost. He was very apologetic after hearing the full account of what transpired. He offered to find a way to make things right. Although I had already found another company to do the work, he agreed to refund my charge for the Sunday service call. In turn, I offered to add an update to my review. He promised to speak with his sons and techs to try and prevent this from happening again. I still stick by my review, but do appreciate the gesture that was made. -------------------------------------------------- Furnace motor blew on Sunday (1/30/22). Monday (1/31/22), I was quoted $1500 for parts and service. The technician shows up Tuesday (2/1/22) with the parts and says it will now be $2800 due to the price of equipment purchased that morning. I immediately called the office to find out what was going on. I was told that part prices can differ from day to day due to supply chain issues, daily price changing from their supplier, etc. I then spoke with the service manager who offered to lower the price to $2,000. I asked that he call the owner and let him know the situation, since parts do not change $1,300 in value overnight. After some internal calls, the technician informed me that he was called by the owner and told not to release the equipment and install it for less than $2,500. This left me with the option to either pay $1000 over the quoted amount so that my family had heat or decline the equipment sitting in my driveway and start the service process all over with another company. I declined and contacted our local/usual service provider that we would have used had it been a non-weekend emergency and found out that the parts in total were less than $800 with tax from their sales representative! My experience with Jack Frost is that their business practices and customer service are below subpar. I am honestly concerned that this company is potentially holding clients to higher prices at the last minute due to the weather and/or circumstance, as I have no idea how a company of this size is unable to obtain correct pricing with their equipment sales reps and convey that pricing to their clients. That's my review... As horrible as the situation is at the moment, I know it will work out in the end. My advice would be to think twice when opting to hire this business and to certainly get everything in writing before commiting to having work done. I've also contacted the BBB and NJ Department of Consumer Affairs to learn more about my rights based on the simple facts of the situation, only to prevent or prepare myself if this situation were to ever happen again with any other company. Thanks to the technician who had to deal with the incompetence of his management while standing next to me trying to wrap my brain around what was going on. It's not your fault man. jack Frost installed two new HVAC units in 2019. Last month I called to have them service the two new units plus two older units. They charged a flat fee of $135 for each unit with no discount for multiples. When I questioned the price I was that $135 is the going rate. I just received a solicitation from an A/C tech that we have used in the past and he is charging $98--almost 40% less than Jack Frost. Not sure I will use them again. If you enjoy going to court and winning be my guest. These are the nastiest most dishonest contractors I have ever used in my entire life. Where should I begin? Maybe with the fact they hit our home with their truck and caused significant damage and never called to say so and probably wouldn't have had I not drove up to catch them because my daughter called to say the entire house shook? Or from the very rude and dismissive way they arrive that morning at my home and left because I dared to ask about the required permits that were requested before coming to start work? Maybe I should begin with how they requested to be paid in full prior to starting the job and WERE but took an additional 50% deposit almost 3 weeks later after they had been paid? Or how about the part where I had to hire an attorney to get a copy of their insurance to file a claim? Maybe I should start with the fact that our contract says a completely different furnace then that which was installed? Well I guess I will start with the night where I had to stay in a hotel because our "brand new" furnace they installed wasn't working and when I called them, they said they voided our warranty at their sole discretion. When trying to ask why I was hung up on several times then my number was blocked. We have no heat from a furnace that was installed in November and were forced to sue which honestly I didn't want to do because I love supporting small struggling businesses and have never had to before but Jack Frost has left us zero options. Though they have had many times & several opportunities to make it right which I felt was fair & usually works with rational contractors who are eager to rectify a mistake. I wasn't going to post anything at all but felt people should be warned about this family of crooks. I realized they can respond, but honestly what can you say? Voice recordings, pictures and receipts say more than anything they could in defense of their actions. 'Trust me' they said *eye roll* Yeah that is recorded as well, along with a picture of Tyler's big smile after hitting my house with his very low insured van. Our 5 yr old furnance died on Sunday. Jason came out for $120 service charge, and said it was our motor. Motor was $289, less than an hour to put in and was $908 total! I called Jason (his number on his bill is disconnected) and wanted a breakdown. He claims that drivetime, which he went to Depew for the part. He insisted on cash (we paid with a credit card) too and said he gave us a break on tax. TOTAL PRICE GAUGING AND SCAMMER. He could of had the part covered by a warranty too! DO NOT USE HIM. If I could give them no stars I would. They came and did a full diagnostic and determined it was my thermostat. Now heat still Not working right. Call them back In. They do another full diagnostic and tell me it's the board. Mind you a board cost 1000.00. So I said I guess we have to replace. After board was in now they say still not fixed we need new dampers. Well I am now 1400.00 in and with the dampers probably close to 2000.00. This is a rip off as if they were doing the diagnostic properly they would find issue first time. It's a scam and rip off. They did not even subtract any money for the thermostat since it really wasn't that at all. Don't hire these guys. I bought a new house and could not turn the heat on so I called Jack Frost Plumbing located in NNJ. The owner, Tyler, came and gave me a $600 repair order. It sounded expensive so we sought a second opinion. Turns out there was a separate thermostat for the heat which was apparent to the second plumbing professional. Seems like Tyler of Jack Frost Plumbing misdiagnosis and exaggerates repair orders in order to bill high. I don't recommend them. read more

They are the worst and were very disrespectful to my wife. Would not recommend. Had to call another HVAC company to fix what Tyler very clearly is incapable of. The company ended up being able to figure out that the motherboard was fried and I'm pretty sure Tyler did it to try and sell me a new furnace. I looked at the reviews and am now convinced after the attitude from him and the woman who answers the phones that they are FAKE! I should sue but the $700 isn't worth the headache & definitely worth getting rid of them and letting everyone know how awful this company is. I had two technicians come out Saturday because my furnace would not start and there was water on the floor. After 10 min of diagnostics and $95 they assured me that it was grim and it would be two thousand dollars to install the part I needed but due to the firebox being cracked I should just pay 7000 for a new system installed. That's with a discount. After talking it over with my husband we agreed we would have to cancel our family vacation with our three small kids to counter this expense. A friend of ours suggested getting a second opinion. We called another person who was not available until monday so after three days of no hot water the other man came. After about an hour my furnace was running perfect. He replaced two washers for a couple cents and fixed the water problem and installed a faulty switch. All in all it cost me less than my diagnostic fee. He also let me know my fire box was fine and the other company was just trying to take advantage of a young lady who didn't know anything and make 7000$. This is very sad. I am writing to inform you that I am very disappointed. You didn't only lie to me but almost cost three young kids a vacation and a lot of stress for my family and I. I will be posting this as a review. I should get my diagnostic fee back as you didn't diagnose anything just tried to rip me off and I don't want anyone else to have to be treated like this. read more
