SK came out and did a seasonal checkup on our AC. We're new to the home and area and found SK through Yelp. They were on time, checked out the AC, added coolant and then took a quick peek at the furnace. They said both look good for the age (17 years) and should be good for a while. I had questions about rebates for heat pumps and he had answers about rebates, rough costs and advantages of the new heat pumps. He reiterated that we didn't need to change out our current equipment but if we feel it's important for environmental reasons there are good options. We'll definitely be using them going forward, and have a fall furnace checkup scheduled. read more

since 2018 Saki has done the yearly maintenance our rental property for $54. Last cooling season he said the outside unit was near the end of its life, the unit was in the house when purchased. It''s a rental when it dies, we'll replace it. On the first cold day this winter he claims the heater is all rusted out in the exchanger and has to be replaced, along with the entire system because a new heater can't work with an old air conditioner. Our neighbor suggested we call their guy. He's been in business for 30 years. Needless to say, the heater was not rusted he showed me the unit was very dirty, the fan motor and wheel were clogged with dirt and there were two dead birds in the chimney. The outside air conditioner was only 10 years old. I'm convinced SK had never done anything other than collect their fee and try to sell stuff we didn't want or need. read more

I can't speak to his level of knowledge or experience, but I can tell you that Saki is a liar and a crook. When I first bought my house and didn't know diddly about hvac, he told me that my system needed 6 lbs of refrigerant, and quoted me $95/lb. He said "That's the market rate, I don't make any money of that." Like a doofus I went and got my luggage scale to be ready to weigh the tank when he brought it out, and he said he had already put the gas in and had taken the tank back to the van. I said, "how did you know it was 6 lbs?" and he said he had a scale in the van and he weighed the tank when he left the van and when he got back. He also said that a valve near the condenser was faulty and leaking and he charged me to replace it. And he encouraged me to pay cash to avoid the credit card fees because 'that was better for me'. The next day I noticed that he had left the unit running without an air filter. When I reached out to him to ask why, he said "it can work without a filter". Luckily I didn't believe that and put a filter in myself. Couple weeks later the system was still not working and I called someone else who was recommended by a friend. After finding a pinhole leak in one of the pipes and fixing it, the new person showed me how to read the label on the condenser, which clearly stated that the max capacity of the entire system was less than 4 lbs. Saki lie #1 revealed. The new tech also told me that the market rate was (at the time) $55/lb and that techs usually charged $65 to make a little profit. Sake lie #2 exposed. Then when I told him about the new valve, the new tech said that the valve was the original and had maybe been cleaned a little, but had not been replaced. Lie #3. Then I asked him about running the system without an air filter, and... you already know the rest... it can be very destructive to the internal parts. Saki lie #4. I can only hope that he did something good with the money he stole from me. The guy cannot be trusted. Stay away. And educate yourself on how your appliances work. I'm sure he is not the only con artist out there. read more

Be extremely careful about Saki and what he's offering. I fell for the same trap of apparent online good reviews and low price that Saki and his company is offering. For sure, he has one of the best prices around for annual heating and cooling tune up. But I suggest you look carefully at what he's been charging you. For the few years we worked with him, every summer for four consecutive years, he would come to our place and tell me I needed coolant in my system. It appeared that he wanted to work with us towards a solution, sometimes suggesting including certain chemicals with the coolant to deal with the micro-leakage. Every year for those four years, I paid him $200 to $400 every year to "top off" coolant in my system. Eventually, it was too much for me, and I had to pay $700 and get an expert to test leakage in my system using nitrogen. The result? I have no leakage at all in my system. This year, I found another HVACR specialist who charged me the same low price as Saki, yet performed a much thorough test including the pressure test for my coolant. His result? Again, I have no leakage! So my suggestion for those reading this review? Look at what your out-of-pocket payment to Saki and his company and do not fall for his low annual tune up fees. And once he starts charging you for additional services, do your homework and verify. I wish I had verified the (no)leakage situation earlier and did not have to waste hundreds of dollars on those false alarms. read more

SK just saved me a few thousand bucks. They've got a customer for life. I'd been told that there was a leak in my system and that because my system uses the old type of coolant it would be cheaper to just replace it than keep on refilling it. I got two quotes to just replace the AC parts (leaving the furnace in place) ranging from $4k to double that. I called SK for a quote just bc their sticker was on my system--I guess they had worked on my place before I moved here. They told me that if the leak was as big as I thought it could be fixed pretty easily. Plus they charged significantly lower rates for the old coolant. But unlike either of the big companies that had come over, SK actually checked my coolant and told me it wasn't low at all. Within five minutes they found the faulty part--all said and done the repair was under $300. Suffice to say I won't be going back to the other companies. read more

The 5 star ratings are what brought me to contact SK Heating and Air Conditioning but I never got the chance to find out if they are accurate. My A/C stopped working late last August and we decided to put it off till the spring. After going back and forth playing text and message tag for 2 weeks and 3 days after I was told he would call me, I finally heard from him. Mind you - the A/C isn't working - and before he even looked to see what the problem was he told me that they don't work on oil systems. I understand the heating system is oil but if it's the A/C compressor or simply out of freon that shouldn't matter. He rushed me off the phone and now I must start the search over for someone who can help me. My wife has asthma, sleep apnea and we both have severe allergies so this is a situation that must be remedied. VERY DISAPPOINTED. read more

We have relied on SK HVAC for years! So, just to update our prior review, SK HVAC is reasonable, dependable and trustworthy. ANOTHER company told us we had to replace our system because it was illegal to refill it with R-22 Freon, and that they would lose their license if they refilled it. NOT TRUE! They were trying to scare us into spending a lot of money to buy a new system. SK TOLD US THE TRUTH: companies are no longer allowed to manufacture R-22, but that does not mean it is illegal to refill it in an existing system, even though R-22 is much more expensive now because the available supply is shrinking. Someone who is willing to help you 23 out of 24 hours in a day. I called Saki the next day and he was very willing to come over during our after work schedule. Extremely helpful and very knowledgeable guy. He spent a good amount of time investigating the problem and making sure we understand how these heaters work. Once he found what was broken, he gave us a ball park range of what it would cost to fix the problem and ended up ordering the part and fixing our heater in an extremely short time. He also serviced the heater as an added free benefit and made sure our house is warm again before the 40s strike back. Definitely recommend this guy. Wow, an honest, competent repair service. My HVAC had not been working for days. He could have raked me over the coals, but explained the problem and easily fixed it. Once fixed he checked the pressure and just charged to top off the coolant. After coolant added, the HVAC worked better than ever! I am never called the big companies ever again. read more

I spent many days researching the various HVAC companies out there - asking friends and family for advice and reading many reviews just to find the 'right' one. After hearing so many positive things about Saki and his company, I decided to contact him. Unfortunately, I found out that I did not reside in his immediate service area (He's in PA and I'm in NJ) and it wouldn't have been cost efficient for either of us. Knowing that, Saki very graciously spent more than half an hour with me on the phone giving me advice on my best course of action with our defective AC unit. He answered dozens of my questions and doled out his valuable professional advice. He came across as being very honest, trustworthy and quite knowledgeable in his trade. Saki helped me make an informed decision on the best solution to our faulty AC unit. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a highly trained and honest professional. I would have given this guy a 0 star if I could. On may 11 2018, this guy come to fix my central air. According to him the relay was the problem and charged me $250 (it was an overcharged. I later found out most places charge between $150-$200. I know it's my fault for not shopping around) As most of you know this year the weather was very friendly in May so we don't even use the central air after it was supposedly "FIXED" However only about 2 weeks later I found out the the central air was acting up again EXACTLY the same like before it was "FIXED ". So I called him again to state the problem and a week later he came to look at it. Now suddenly he stated that it was the motor needed replacing for another $500 for the SAME EXACT PROBLEM!!! So if was the motor why the hell did you charged me $250 the relay for???!!?? Beware !!!! Definitely would NOT RECOMMEND!! read more

Saki is incredible. We came home to our air conditioner not working after a weekend away in late July (with the upcoming week forecasted to be in the mid 90's...). I called at 7am Monday and left him a voicemail requesting service. I received a call back in less than 20 minutes and he was able to squeeze us in at 6pm THAT DAY! He showed up 5 minutes early and offered to put on boot covers before walking though our home. He explained what was wrong with our unit in terms we could understand and assured us this was not a larger indication of the whole unit failing, just normal age and repair. He was able to fix our unit easily and we had cold air within a few moments. Within 12 hours of my initial phone call our system was back up and running. I purchased a 22-Point Winter Furnace Inspection and Cleaning deal through Angie's List. I have a boiler that dates back past the Reagan administration so I make sure every fall that I get an inspection and cleaning. Scheduling with them on the phone was a breeze. I mentioned how my boiler was older so we check it every year and he replied "As long as you maintain it, it can last forever." These were not the words of someone who was going to try and get me to replace it (like the guy who checked it out last year for another company which will remain nameless). On the day of the appointment he got to the house a lot earlier than scheduled but called to ensure that was okay. He inspected it and cleaned it up. Boiler went quiet over a cold weekend recently and I tried to replace the thermocouple myself. I'm intimidated by anything related to gas or electricity, so I didn't make it very far (the Youtube instructional videos are deceiving). Sent an email to Saki at 7:45 AM on Monday morning, was on the phone by 9:00 AM, and he was at our house by 11:00. Everything was fixed and running again within an hour. Believe the glowing reviews: Saki is the best. Our AC stopped working in the middle of a Friday night this summer. I was flying out of town the next day, and we had an open house scheduled for Sunday. Nobody wants to buy a house with a HVAC, and my wife definitely didn't want to sweat out the weekend with our two small children. Not good. So I'm scrambling to get someone to help, and with one foot out the door to the airport, I send out a request for quotes to a couple places on Yelp. The first company to respond can't help us til Tuesday, and now I'm worried: Is it crazy to expect someone to come out on the same day? But then Saki writes in 5 minutes later. We talk on the phone, and bam! We're booked for 2:30 that afternoon. Incredible. He called to let us know he was running a little late -- very considerate! -- and showed up just when he said he would. He diagnosed the problem, had the parts on hand, tuned up the unit, and voila -- everything fixed, just 5 hours after we contacted him. Cold air. Saki is over the top professional, he was running a little late due to traffic on 76 (what's new) and he texted me letting me know he was running a little late. Once he was here you could tell he had our best interest in mind. All we had was a yearly check up on our AC but he took the time to explain how things work and what we need to do to maintain our unit. To my surprise, he did not try to upsell us or push us into a contract. he just asked for our business, paid our bill and shook hands. Saki was fantastic! Our gas boiler died during the night of the late-March snowstorm. We had another company come out first and were told that our boiler was "condemned" and would need to be fully replaced. We called SK Heating and Air Conditioning for a second opinion, and Saki was able to come out the following day. After an initial assessment, he told us that he believed the problem to be with two sensors and that he thought the boiler probably didn't need to be replaced. The heat was working within minutes of him replacing the sensors. He was very professional, punctual, and honest about what he thought the issue was.
