This morning I drove to this dealership in response to an emailed invitation it sent me following a Kelly Blue Book valuation quotation I had received on my car. After being tossed from one salesman to another, my car was given a cursory look-over and assigned a low ball value --- lower than the Kelly Blue Book value. No explanation. They simply weren't interested, and it showed in the graceless disposition I encountered. The rub here is the manner in which I was treated reflected a schlock dealership. After 28 years serving in the U.S military I wanted to treat myself with a new vehicle in 2023, the choice was between Hyundai Tucson and Mazda CX-50 both dealership same owner in York, PA. After visiting the the York Hyundai dealership vehicles for more than 20 minutes with no assistance, the Mazda dealership assisted right away and I purchase a new CX-50 out of the show room floor the same day. Fast forward to 2025, wanting to upgrade to a bigger vehicle again the choice between Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy and Mazda CX-90, it happen again at the Hyundai dealership as I said hello to a sales person outside, again no assistance. It's still a toss up between both bigger vehicle but it will most likely be at a different dealership in Hunt Valley, MD. or Lancaster, PA. I have bought my last 2 cars here, reason being the sales team are not pushy and very fair. This was my first used car and as the sales part went very smooth, the cleanliness of the car was disappointing. I'm 100 percent positive that they did not perform their 173 point inspection on my car. It was dirty with food inside, The glove compartment was never opened as the previous owners paperwork from their last two cars were still there, including their address and bank information. Coolant level was already at the bottom so we need to refill that. Stain on the back seat that we were told would be cleaned. No follow up after purchase. I will probably always be a Hyundai owner but unfortunately I will not buy a used car here. read more

love my Hyundai Ioniq and I'd buy another but not here. I had a headlight bulb that needed replacing and for the time being I have no tools. I stopped in to ask if they could do this. I already bought the bulbs. This was at 11:20am and I was told "they're all at lunch and won't be back til after one.". Now, I had no expectation that anyone would drop everything and attend to my little problem, nor did I expect them to do this for free. I am however, left with one of two conclusions. Either the service techs get an hour and a half plus for lunch or the service writer decided that they couldn't be bothered with my little problem. In the few minutes I was waiting to talk to someone the garage bays were opened and closed several times for the techs that were " on lunch" to bring cars in and out. So, which conclusion do you think I reach here? read more

We traded in our 2019 Subaru Crosstrek and bought a new 2025 Kona SE. Brain, the sales rep, was very helpful and easy to deal with in getting us the car we wanted for the price we wanted. No pressure. After some negotiation we got the Kelly Blue Book trade in price which sealed the deal, as I was ready to walk away for a deal in Lancaster for a Honda HR-V for basically the same price I wanted. That Honda was nice, but it was cramped inside vs the Kona which had recently gone through design changes which made it a lot bigger and more modern looking than the previous Kona. Those design changes were a huge upgrade which I can see by comparing it to a friends 2022 Kona. The finance department was also very easy to work with and it was painless and fast to get the loan. Overall it was a super positive experience! I highly recommend asking for Brain if you stop in like we did to see their cars. We probably should have made an appointment, but they were available and we got lucky. This was our second time coming back to Jack Giambalvo Hyundai, and we couldn't be more pleased. Ed was an absolute gentleman and exemplified every quality a good salesmen should have. Knowledgeable about his product, great customer relations, listening and meeting your needs, all without being pushy or over the top. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. (The first one 3 years ago was also great!) I've bought over 20 cars over the last few years (New and used dealers, carmax, and private sellers) and I've never been in and out as fast as Ed and Dillon worked with us. With the initial appointment of securing a car a few weeks ago, going over trade, finance approval and questions taking only another hour or so at most. Got a new car here not even two months ago and got all three warranty packages. Well as luck would have it I got a nail in my tire. Called there to make an appointment to get it patched up since it was covered there. Jokes on me because they don't have any appointments available till the middle of August. Im like okay how long would it take if I just went in... all day. The guy on the phone said we wouldn't know when we could "fit it in." Who in the hell has time to wait at the dealership all day for a patched tire? Or the option he gave me.. you can put the spare on and just leave the tire here. That's great.. if you don't have to drive with the spare. Do yourself a favor don't get the warranty because you are going to have to go somewhere else to get it fixed anyway. read more

My car worked very well and I had no complaints at all. They called me in because of a recall. I brought it in and they did what they had to do. On the way home my car broke down. They towed the car back and said it "couldn't have been (their) fault. all they did was update the computer." They refused to give me a loaner car or pay for a rental. I sat for nearly 4 hours without any word or so much as an apology. They hadn't even started working on it until the 4 hour mark, which they told me when I asked for an update. So, I told them I needed to go and get to work. they just responded, "it's going to be a while. we will get you when it's done." At 5 hours of waiting, I finally demanded to either be given a car or for some kind of resolution, they said nothing was wrong with my car and sent me on my way. There is definitely something still wrong with my car. The people in service were rude and refused to take any responsibility for the fact they somehow damaged my car. I am extremely dissatisfied. this experience cost me over $100 in my hourly rate at work, and again, not so much as an apology from these people. Thanks, Jack. Buying experience was ok was goin if to buy new but was offerer a deal on preowned (not much of a deal once all was done)was told car would be detailed prior to pick up car was never detailed given as is mentioned issues with damage to seats and scratches on front bumper was told would be taken care of no problem,after 3months of phone tag was told to come in and couldn't guarantee a fix for the seat it was a half ass job and the seats look worse bumper was ignored ,just called in for my 1st service cant get service for a month and half from now was told you can drop off for quicker service but we can't give u a loaner car,bs dealer specifically said any time a car needs service you will be given a loaner my car also has a recall that can potentially cause it to go on fire, and not to park it close to my house was told and we can't do anything,proceed with caution at this dealership read more

I had a very unfortunate experience with a recent tire repair/ replacement appointment. However, what has made the matter so much worse is the handling, or lack there of, by management. At this time, I last emailed the GM on 11/12/24 with no response and the Service Manager on 11/15/24 with no response. At one point, the Service Manager was communicating but has since stopped after I advised I was contacting corporate. I am not sure if the reason is my contact to corporate but the timing is interesting. The main issue is that I booked an appointment via their online system, arranged my work schedule to make the appointment, and they didn't honor it until 4.5 hours later. They had me leave and return to the dealership and made zero effort to work around my schedule even though it was their (acknowledged) error. I also never received any sort of apology from the many staff members I dealt with that day and was actually treated in a dismissive manner. When these concerns were brought to management, they were either ignored (see my comment about email to GM) or misdirected (emails with Service Manager). I am now waiting on Hyundai corporate to see if they can more appropriately address the issue. read more

After spending 30 minutes trying to get the attention of over 10 sales people that were more interested in talking to each other than sell a car, I drove 40 miles to another Hyundai dealer to purchase my 2021 Veloster N. I was recently at the Galleria Mall, in York, PA. While driving home, I decided to cut across Industrial Highway to get to I-83 South. As I passed the Jack Giambalvo Mazda Hyundai car dealership, I glimpsed at the front end of a small silver car, sitting on their lot, facing Industrial Highway. I did not pay too much attention to it, although in the last few months, I test drove a couple of new vehicles and casually browsed at a few online. I certainly did not need a new car because I own a 2009 Lincoln MKZ AWD, loaded with every feature you can imagine, it has less than 44,000 miles on it, it's tuxedo black with black leather interior with sand piping and wood, and looks like it came right off the showroom floor. It's been paid-off for years so why would I even consider taking on another car payment. And, no one would give me a reasonable trade-in for my $50,000 car, that's in mint condition. The Lincoln dealer in York is always trying to buy it from me whenever I take it there for service. They insult me by offering me $5,000 to $6,000 for it. I just laugh at them and tell them to, "Shove it!" I went to sleep that night still thinking about the car on Jack Giambalvo's lot. The next morning, at 3:00 a.m., when my 18-year-old cat, Chance, woke me up to eat; yes, I get up to feed him every morning at 3:00 a.m. At 18, he's earned the right to eat whenever he wants to eat, I jumped onto my MacBook Air and went to Jack Giambalvo's website. I found the car, a 2005 BMW Z4 3.0i, 67,000 miles, silver exterior with a black leather interior, 6-speed standard, and a black convertible. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what they were asking for the price. I immediately opened another browser window to Edmunds.com to investigate an appraisal value for the car. Jack Giambalvo was only off by $600 on the MSRP Dealer Pricing. I sent an email to Jack Giambalvo's website requesting that someone contact me about the car. I walked outside and introduced myself to Rich. Rich smiled and gave me a firm, warm handshake. The engine started with that distinct German engineering sound. When Rich got in the car, I told him to buckle up, that all my driving occurs at 90+ mph. I found the entrance to the nearest highway and zipped onto the on-ramp, taking my time to get the most out of the lower gears, quickly zooming to over 90-mph as I shifted into 6th gear. The BMW hugged the road firmly and reacted to the slightest movement of the wheel. I've owned sports cars before and sitting low to the ground with legs outstretched speeding down the roadway is exhilarating. To shorten the story, I will tell you that there wasn't any haggling like you may have experienced, seen on TV, or heard of before. I told Rich what I was willing to pay for the car and he wrote up the paperwork. He said that he needed the manager's approval, but indicated that he wasn't going to talk to him, that he was just going to send him a text message for approval, but was still going to write-up the paperwork as I instructed. Rich is a no-nonsense, practical, down-to-earth guy who happens to sell cars. He is not your typical car salesman. He makes buying a car a fun and enjoyable experience, not a pressured, unpleasant experience. As most of you know, when you meet with the Finance Manager, that's where you really get screwed. Everything was so different with Jayme Cabot, the Business Manager. He had all the paperwork printed and laid out on his desk in an organized format. He told me that we would systematically go through each form, he would explain each document in detail to me, including the fine print, and I would initial and sign where appropriate. He didn't try to upsell me on any extras. He didn't surprise me with an outrageous interest rate or hidden dealer fees. The entire process was transparent, well-defined, and clean-cut. I was in and out of his office within 20-minutes; hands-down the fastest time, I've ever met with a Finance Manager. Jayme is genuinely a professional Business Manager and gives a whole new meaning to meeting with the man behind the curtain. I've bought 25+ cars in my life. I've had a few good experiences, but I've had to be a fierce negotiator fighting, demanding, and threatening during the entire sales and financing time. Not this time. This was the most relaxed, professional team of individuals, and friendliest group of people I've ever worked with during the car buying process. Very frustrated with this dealership. I completed a financial application in December of 2021 and was promised 0% for 48 months. I only had to wait for the car to be shipped by 1/22. After a week of shipping delays, I was told they could no longer offer 0% so I asked for a discount on the car to compensate for my time. They turned that down and were rude about it. I would recommend going with any other Hyundai dealership besides this one!!!!!! They wasted over a month of my time and caused me a lot of stress. read more

I bought the car from this dealership back in 2015.. fast forward to 2023 and with 132,000 miles.. my transmission starts acting up.. first gear went out? So like any one else.. take the car to where you get the service done and where you bought the car.. well.. that was a nightmare.. they couldn't explain to me how this happened.. but they could tell me that it will cost 3,500$ to replace the transmission.. which that's way too high for that.. I understand the labor behind it.. so I decided not to do it there and try to find a different option. Before I could even leave the service center they inform me that I need to pay 150.00$ for them to just look at it.. I asked why... and her reply was " my technicians don't work for free ".. which my reply was " wow, great customer service "... so my warning is.. go to apple.. pay for a better car with a better transmission.. they last longer then the Hyundai does.. I will find a transmission somewhere and get some help to put it in.. thanks for the life lesson.. I will not get another car from them.. I will just do the free emissions that they provide to the customers.. don't worry they will start charging for that soon.. lol. My mother and father recently had their vehicle at this Collision Center because it is a dealer and the Collision Center in the rear of the building had a rental vehicle through Enterprise for 3 days was called to pick up the there vehicle late in the afternoon and they accidentally left their iPad in the vehicle when they had left it it was too late the Collision Center was closed so they called early in the morning to Enterprise about the iPad since the keys were handed to Jack giambalvo Enterprise wash their hands and said that there was no iPad and Jack giambalvo did the same saying no one here would take an iPad but the iPad was left in the van something really shady going on between Enterprise and Jack giambalvo read more

Im currently facing problems with the salesman Travis Small. He sold me a 2013 hyundai sonota with a class action lawsuit on the engine seizing up. They still have my car sitting in their garage stating it is due to the class action lawsuit but yet are awaiting hyundai corporate to ACCEPT it then give us a rental car. Such BS! They dont give a rats you know what about your life, what kind of car they sell you, and ect. Travis small the salesman wont even return my calls. That is terrible business. It is not my fault that they sold me a garbage car which was paid in full on the spot and now that it has a class action lawsuit I have to wait for a RENTAL due to them? That isn't how this works! That's how you lose business and get a bad reputation. Stay far away from this business and especially Travis Small. Also everytime my husband or I call the service department they're RUDE to us and act like we are a inconvenience to them! They have the oudacity to make us wait for a rental car when it's their manufacturer who has this open class action lawsuit on my Hyundai sonota in which i have NO control over! I plan to get the BBB involved and take this to the highest level that I possibly can! I have no car now to drive and do my work or pay my bills due to there bad business practices. I also had my car taken here to have the update done that they were requiring everyone to do and this still happened. They are a joke and a waste of your time and money! I purchased a 2015 Toyota Highlander from them on 04/24/2020. The vehicle had roughly 30,000 miles and was marketed as accident free. Additionally, I was told by the salesman that the vehicle was accident free. After roughly 1800 miles, the passenger side front bumper started to fall off. I called the dealership to have it fixed and I was scheduled for a June 3rd appointment. On June 4th, they called me and stated that they were not going to pay for the bumper due to it "probably" being my fault. They stated that there was a damaged grille which would not hold the bumper on and that I would need a new bumper and grille. I then asked to speak to Garrett, the salesman, who told me the body shop would give me a quote. The quote was from $1200 to $1400 dollars. On June 5th, I took the vehicle to Dutch Valley Auto in Mountville,PA. Dutch Valley stated that the vehicle appeared to have been in a prior accident due to rust on the frame rail and the broken grille. The advised me to confront the dealer. Before I did that, I purchased a Carfax and found that the vehicle had structural damage reported in July of 2018. I called the dealership and spoke to Garrett, the salesman, informing him that the vehicle had in fact been in an accident and that I wish to have the grill and bumper replaced. He told me that I was wrong and that the vehicle was never in an accident. I confronted him with the Carfax and was told that they use AutoCheck instead so they didn't know. I told him that this was unsatisfactory and that, again, the vehicle was never in an accident. He stated that they looked at pictures and there was no damage. He offered to pay half of the bill. I requested to speak to the GM. On June 8th, I spoke the Jim the General Manager. He again told me that the vehicle was not in an accident. I told him him about the Carfax and he stated that because they use AutoCheck, it's not their fault that they didn't know. He stated that they would not be paying for the new bumper and grill. I pursued him further. He stated that he wanted to look at pictures and get back to me. Still on June 8th, I called the GM again because I had not heard anything at closing. He again stated that the vehicle was not in an accident and that there was nothing they could do. I pursued. He then stated that he wanted to see the car. Today, June 10th, I brought the car in and showed him the damage, the broken grille, the bumper falling off, and the rust. He told me that the bumper is fine, the rust was surface rust, and that the grille must have been my fault. He again told me that the vehicle was not in an accident. I then showed him a picture from the sale showing the broken grill. I told him that the vehicle will be fixed by them and that I am not paying for it. He told me they would fix the grill, but not the bumper. He also said that he doesn't know when they will get to it and that the parts come from Japan. The parts do not come from Japan. He told me that he would fix the bumper to where it would not fall off until then. His method was duct tape. Following an appointment to have the brakes service, I heard a horrible grinding sound coming from the front passenger tire. It turned out to be a hanger that was left hanging on my suspension by the service department. Fortunately, no more damage was done. Hopefully the bumper and grille are fixed soon so that I may never do business with Jack giambalvo Hyundai again. read more

I can't say what the engine service at this place is like ... but I can say, with confidence, that their service ability concerning tires, wheels, and the mounting to the vehicle is pretty poor. Somehow, they managed to mount 2 new tires to the rims backwards (so that the tread is running backwards) and they go mad using an impact gun to mount the wheels to the vehicle. I recently had to replace 4 stud-posts on 2 different wheels their service people had mis-threaded while using an impact gun to position & tighten the lug nuts. They even managed to mis-thread a lug nut on a wheel that they had just replaced the stud-post on that they twisted off when doing inspection (a wheel they had removed a few months earlier to replace the tire) ... of course I had to pay for all of this as they claimed to "not know anything about it". The only way to remove the wheels for service was to twist the lug nuts until the studs broke off. Imagine having to do this to simply replace a flat tire along the road (it is almost impossible to do without strong leverage or a large breaker bar), and now you are left with only 3 of the 5 lugs securely fastened (which is very unsafe). I have to have an oil change and have the transmission fluid changed in my car now ... And I am concerned about having the dealership do the work as any subsiquent repairs to something they manage to screw- up while doing the maintenance could be extremely expensive. I am so disappointed with the service provided by this dealership that I simply needed to write this review so that others can watch their wallets read more
