Do not use this dealership to purchase or service a vehicle. I purchased a brand new cx90 from them and was told they would only negotiate, if I left a 10 on their Mazda new car survey. So the first shady practice was the bribe. The shady service practice occurred this week. I purchased a brand new cx30 from a different dealership that was not local to my area several months ago. The car has under 9000 miles and started to misfire. I took it to Jack Giambalvo Mazda in York Pa to have it checked out since it is still under the factory warranty. They sent me a video showing some incredibly dirty gas with foreign material in it that would clog fuel injectors at a minimum making any vehicle inoperable. My car was still running it was just misfiring inconsistently. They then informed me that the gas had come out of my car, even though they could not provide video evidence showing the dirty gas being removed from my car. They then told me they rearranged coils on the car that magically fixed the car that allegedly still had grim filled gas in it and that the warranty would not be applied because there was dirty gas in the car. They charged me a $175 diagnostic fee which was oddly the same cost as some "premium" service program that they offered that supposedly provided car washes and other perks. They also notated that they had run my car through the car wash on the receipt, but when that was obvious that it had not occured, they lied and said it had been washed yesterday and when I asked how algae, which was evident on the car, grew on the car overnight they admitted it hadn't been done at all. This dealership lies to your face and should be investigated for illegal practices. Hopefully enough people will realize this is a corrupt dealership and it will lose enough business to be shut down in the future, because it is not customer oriented at best and seems to engage in questionably legal business practices at worst. read more

We were visiting in the area and had a rental car that was a Mazda. At some point, the car dash indicated that the car remote was low on battery. We drove to the nearest Mazda dealership in the hope to just buy a battery for the remote and be on our way. Their service center was already closed but I was greeted by an agent named TJ. Him and his manager (whose name I wasn't able to get) went above and beyond in helping me get a new battery and even showed us how to start the car in case something else happened to the remote. Despite it being almost close to closing, they patiently helped us. And they didn't even charge us for the battery! We highly recommend them for their customer service! read more

I live 3 hours from the dealership and was on a trip headed East so John pulled the car into the show room until I arrived the following week to pick it up. I was looking for a Honda Cr-Z. Giambalvo Mazda had one for sale. I'd been messed around by a couple of dealers selling cars out from under me. I contacted Giambalvo Mazda and Robb Dorf quickly contacted me back. We had a couple of emails back and forth and then I sent them a deposit to hold the car. The deal went thought fairly quickly. I got into the car and noticed the radio needed a code. Fortunately the sales manager used to work at a Honda dealer so he got on the phone to people he knew and managed to get the correct code for the car. After driving it a couple of days I noticed a clunking sound from the drivers side rear. The car came with a 3mth 3000k warranty. so brought it back for them to look it over. The service assistant said they would be ordering the part and I asked about them order the front plate holder as MD requires front and back plates. I took the car up there today. I arrived at 10:30 and I left at 11:30. I even got a free oil change. The car runs great and now more clunk. I'd like to thank Robb for the quick deal and Giambalvo Mazda for standing behind a used car sale. I was recently at the Galleria Mall, in York, PA. While driving home, I decided to cut across Industrial Highway to get to I-83 South. As I passed the Jack Giambalvo Mazda Hyundai car dealership, I glimpsed at the front end of a small silver car, sitting on their lot, facing Industrial Highway. I did not pay too much attention to it, although in the last few months, I test drove a couple of new vehicles and casually browsed at a few online. I certainly did not need a new car because I own a 2009 Lincoln MKZ AWD, loaded with every feature you can imagine, it has less than 44,000 miles on it, it's tuxedo black with black leather interior with sand piping and wood, and looks like it came right off the showroom floor. It's been paid-off for years so why would I even consider taking on another car payment. And, no one would give me a reasonable trade-in for my $50,000 car, that's in mint condition. The Lincoln dealer in York is always trying to buy it from me whenever I take it there for service. They insult me by offering me $5,000 to $6,000 for it. I just laugh at them and tell them to, "Shove it!" I went to sleep that night still thinking about the car on Jack Giambalvo's lot. The next morning, at 3:00 a.m., when my 18-year-old cat, Chance, woke me up to eat; yes, I get up to feed him every morning at 3:00 a.m. At 18, he's earned the right to eat whenever he wants to eat, I jumped onto my MacBook Air and went to Jack Giambalvo's website. I found the car, a 2005 BMW Z4 3.0i, 67,000 miles, silver exterior with a black leather interior, 6-speed standard, and a black convertible. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what they were asking for the price. I immediately opened another browser window to Edmunds.com to investigate an appraisal value for the car. Jack Giambalvo was only off by $600 on the MSRP Dealer Pricing. I sent an email to Jack Giambalvo's website requesting that someone contact me about the car. I walked outside and introduced myself to Rich. Rich smiled and gave me a firm, warm handshake. The engine started with that distinct German engineering sound. When Rich got in the car, I told him to buckle up, that all my driving occurs at 90+ mph. I found the entrance to the nearest highway and zipped onto the on-ramp, taking my time to get the most out of the lower gears, quickly zooming to over 90-mph as I shifted into 6th gear. The BMW hugged the road firmly and reacted to the slightest movement of the wheel. I've owned sports cars before and sitting low to the ground with legs outstretched speeding down the roadway is exhilarating. To shorten the story, I will tell you that there wasn't any haggling like you may have experienced, seen on TV, or heard of before. I told Rich what I was willing to pay for the car and he wrote up the paperwork. He said that he needed the manager's approval, but indicated that he wasn't going to talk to him, that he was just going to send him a text message for approval, but was still going to write-up the paperwork as I instructed. Rich is a no-nonsense, practical, down-to-earth guy who happens to sell cars. He is not your typical car salesman. He makes buying a car a fun and enjoyable experience, not a pressured, unpleasant experience. As most of you know, when you meet with the Finance Manager, that's where you really get screwed. Everything was so different with Jayme Cabot, the Business Manager. He had all the paperwork printed and laid out on his desk in an organized format. He told me that we would systematically go through each form, he would explain each document in detail to me, including the fine print, and I would initial and sign where appropriate. He didn't try to upsell me on any extras. He didn't surprise me with an outrageous interest rate or hidden dealer fees. The entire process was transparent, well-defined, and clean-cut. I was in and out of his office within 20-minutes; hands-down the fastest time, I've ever met with a Finance Manager. Jayme is genuinely a professional Business Manager and gives a whole new meaning to meeting with the man behind the curtain. I've bought 25+ cars in my life. I've had a few good experiences, but I've had to be a fierce negotiator fighting, demanding, and threatening during the entire sales and financing time. Not this time. This was the most relaxed, professional team of individuals, and friendliest group of people I've ever worked with during the car buying process. I put in an online application through a third party, for no great credit. Got a call from a sales rep, hinting that I had been approved. Went to the dealership, had to redo an application. They claimed I hadn't done one, when I had entered all my information. Showed me my credit score, nearly 100 points less than Experian and TransUnion and tried to say that the service I use (Credit Karma) doesn't really give the true report. Long story short, tried to get me to put a $4K down payment on a used truck. No thanks. read more

This dealership has the worst customer service I have ever seen. Not only did you make me stick around with my 19 month old daughter for almost 5 hours while you sealed the deal on my husband's car (after you kept telling us that it would "only be a few more minutes"), you told him he had to bring it back not two days after he bought it, because you sold it to him with a deep gash in the side. Now, he's been without the car you sold him for a week, and you just called him to tell him that he has to wait another day? I understand there was a snowstorm that caused the dealership to close for one day, but you promised him that the car would be done no later than Friday (the 14th, that just passed) but you have him stuck using a crappy rental, that has worse gas mileage than the car he bought, you're making him pay for the gas in the rental, which he shouldn't have had for more than a couple days, and you forced him to put a 100$ deposit on. On top of that, your salesman had the nerve to tell us how to do your survey, so he can get the extra 50$ commission, that he really doesn't deserve after all the hoops your "team" has but us through. worst experience ever with this shop, they took 4 days to cut a key and put a battery in my car. They claimed that battery was dead and they couldn't get it to start, another mechanic had the car before them and there was no issue with the battery, the tow truck was able to get it to start to put it in neutral. I asked for a headlight bulb replacement that was never done. The service man Dan has horrible customer service. They don't communicate with the customer even after I asked to be kept updated. I would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone to take their car to this place. This experience has made me want to trade my car in just so I never have to deal with them again. read more

This happened almost a year ago, but the experience bothers me to this day, so I decided to leave a review. I made an appointment for an oil change for my Mazda, and came in on-time to drop my car off the day of. Expected a wait, no big deal. The woman at the desk told me there was no record of my appointment and that I made a mistake and must have called another location. Thinking I made an error, she then directed me to go to the BUICK Giambalvo service center on Route 30 - without offering any other reconciliation or assistance. I drove there, with a friend in tow to give me a ride while the car was being serviced. The Buick service center (obviously - I have a Mazda) had no record of my appointment either and the helpful person there took a look at my appointment email (which they did not even suggest at the first location - they assumed it was my error) and told me my appointment was definitely at the Giambalvo Mazda location. Annoyed, I drove back to the Mazda service center. The woman still claimed that I had made a mistake and then went to "double check" the appointment book. Magically, she "found" my appointment after I insisted and showed her my confirmation email. She was unapologetic and condescending, and offered to give me a discount of $5 ($5!!) for my troubles and then proceeded to place the blame on someone else. I then opted to wait for my car, livid at that point due to my interaction with this woman. While waiting she tried to upsell me on a cabin air filter that had been replaced less than a month prior. Oil change ended up taking over an hour and there was no attempt to remedy the situation besides offering a $5 discount, which was insulting to say the least. I will NEVER go back to this location, and I'd advise anyone reading this to do the same. Terrible service. read more

UPDATE: so this is an update to my review from 4 yrs ago. Recently had Safelite Autoglass replace my windshield at my home. Technician informed me and walked me through the sloppy work of the last shop that worked on my car, the last one who repaired my car was Jack Giambalvo Collision. The left side windshield molding was held in place by urethane on the two brackets that were damaged during removal of the left side mounding. Missing push nuts on the front mounding near the engine compartment, broke of the studs on the left side hood bracket and was held in place by double sided tape. Went to Giambalvo collision to address my concerns and informed them that the workmanship is supposed to be covered by lifetime warranty, they looked at me like I was crazy. Showed the pictures and even showed him in the car, made copies of the work order. Told me he would inform management and will call me the next day. 9 days later I am still waiting. So I guess he did not want to fix their damages. Don't take your car at Giambalvo because the first time I picked my car the paint job was horrible! The service advisor in charge of my car, Maurice Clinton, didn't even notice the poor paint job. Also brought into attention a few later the damaged part in the driver aside wheel well. I'm bringing these into this review because the manager, Tom Oglesby remedied the issue so he deserved a 5 star back then. I am writing this 1-star update review because the issue where hidden and they revealed themselves because another party needed to replace my windshield. This shop will not honor their workmanship warranty, so avoid this place. read more
