Stayed here several times in past. Pros: Very friendly staff, clean and spacious pool, love that you can sit out by pool outside your room. View of mountains. 2 Indoor hot tubs. Close to town. Cons: rooms are very dated, room would not cool of with the air conditioner, rooms have a musty smell. Price is high for what you get, but is a trade for bing close to town. read more

I love this place! So conveniently located to Anakeesta and the main attractions of the parkway! I mean literally walk out of the motor lodge and within just minutes you are on the corner where Anakeesta is. Apparently they just had a remodel completed and it feels so clean and fresh here. The patios have two chairs, so people and vehicle watching was fun to do after a busy day. Loved hearing the school bell from the local public school thats right across the way nestled between Anakeesta and Howard Johnson's motel. We couldn't hear it from inside our room though. If we ever come back this way this will definitely be the place we stay. It's not way up a crazy winding road yet let's you know you're still in the mountains. Nature trails within just a few miles too. This place really is nice for couples, saw mostly older couples such as my husband and I. I love the pool. It was just big enough. It has a good little shallow area and slide for kids. A lift for handicap people that may need help getting in/out of pool. It's supposed to be smoke free which thrilled me bc cigarette smoke makes my allergies go crazy and the smell gives me a bad headache. Strong smell of cigarettes on two different occasions. One was a guy standing by the light pole by the street smoking but not 100% sure where the other cigarette smoke smell was coming from but it had to be on the premises. The day we arrived we had had an awful experience with the condo we had booked, I was upset by everything that had happened, the front desk lady made me feel so much better! She acted like a compassionate human being versus just an employee doing her job. She let me know she saw me, she understood but things would get better. She suggested we go walk through The Village after putting our things in our room and thank goodness she did, what a beautiful little surprise! We lost money on the other place we booked but thank goodness we found Jack Huff's Motor Lodge! read more

Fantastic CLEAN Hotel, free parking, walk to the strip! (July 2018) WE LOVED THIS HOTEL!!!! The next time we return to Gatlinburg, we will stay here. We located and used this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and we are so glad that we did. (Call them directly to make your reservation. If you use their website, there is a fee to do an electronic booking, FYI) This hotel has free off street parking, and it's a quick walking distance to anything you'd like to see and/or do on the strip in Gatlinburg. The hotel staff, specifically Tammy, was so great in recommending "Hole-in-the-wall" places to eat. She also shared with us how to avoid the strip to get out of town and head to the Smoky Mountains. This hotel was SUPER CLEAN - I couldn't get over how clean it was, cleaner than a lot of the chain hotels I've stayed at over the years. It's a family run business and they take pride in their customer service. The room had hard keys, and a front and a back door. On accident, we left our door unlocked for an entire day (we thought it was locked, so double check the lock before you leave) and our room was left undisturbed. There is a cool pool to swim in, the bed was comfortable, the shower had good pressure. There was a fridge we could store our left overs in, coffee served in the morning, and access to a microwave. The only thing I'd warn you about, in regards to this hotel, is that across the street, the church bells started ringing at 6am (I'm thinking, if my memory serves me correctly) and continued every 15 minutes. Eventually, I tuned them out, and it was ok. At night, they played hymns on the bells, which was pretty cool too, So, just know, if you stay here, the church bells will sound.... like it or not, and you'll have a melody waking you up. read more

Rude Management when complaining of only having a stream of water in the shower Stayed 9/28/2022.VERY DISAPOINTING!! No water pressure, small stream of water in the shower. We spoke with the front desk; they sent over a maintenance man who was there over 40 minutes trying to find out the problem, we left, and he was still there. We then went to the front desk and the lady was nice, the manager stood behind her and was very rude to us, told us that if there was a problem it would be fixed, told us that he can't help everyone who comes in there with complaints!! This is his establishment!! He insinuated we were lying. He refused to give us our money back or even some of it. He didn't offer another room, makes me think our room wasn't the only one with issues. This was upsetting to us, I stated to him we won't come back here if this is how we are treated, he actually said good! He needs some training in Customer Service! The look of the place is very deceiving, looks like a nice place on the outside. Read less read more

This was a really nice place to stay!! The room was pretty large and fit us perfectly. I loved the walk into town, we cut straight through the Village, which is so beautiful! My only real complaint is that there wasn't a microwave in the room, it was in a separate area by the ice machine, but we manged! I can definitely see us saying here again! read more

Check your sheets!!!! My boyfriend and I went here after seeing all the clean reviews, the night we got there we failed to check our sheets from the long day we had previously. On our second night, we went in showered and were laying down (again, long day) when all of a sudden I felt a huge itch on my side! My boyfriend checked and I definitely got bit by something (LEFT A BUG BITE MARK) and that's when it hit us it could be bed bugs. Immediately when we looked at the bed, sure enough there was a bug. At this point it was midnight so there was no one at the front desk - I tried calling regardless but there was no answer. We found 2 more after looking through our sheets (3 in total) Because my boyfriend and I could not bear the idea of sleeping another night in a bug infected bed- we desperately looked for another stay within the area and immediately left. Did as anyone should and washed everything twice. When we went back and checked out the following morning, we told the lady at the front about the situation without raising alarm to the other customers and she let us know to call back when a manager was there because she could not process refunds. We were on the way back home that day so we knew we would have to call. When calling, the man who answered immediately told me that the bugs we found were not bed bugs and that no refund would be processed and honestly was speaking to me as if I was the problem. We put the bugs IN A ZIPLOC BAG and they still said we were wrong... Maybe I am wrong , but there are definitely bugs in the bed that bite you!!!!!! ‍‍ I guess the only pro was that the staff (other than the man on the phone) were very nice. "I hope I NEVER have to stay here another single night! - (ONE NIGHT ISN'T ENOUGH!!! I WOULD PREFER A WHOLE WEEK!!!)" Sort of a spur of the moment decision - wife decides she would like to make a weekend trek to Gatlinburg with our daughter and her husband. We originally planned to stay at a motel close by that we had stayed in for several years up until it closed. We eventually stayed at this place after it was sold and re-opened, but it was not the same. It soon made its way closer to the bottom of Tripadvisor review list. We stayed once or twice - so she thought we would try it again. I told her about their decline in cleanliness and customer service - based on recent reviews - so she called Jack Huff's. Now even though Huff's was a dollar more per night, I told her, "What the heck! YOLO - you know!" I would eat one less Donut Friar doughnut... We left Mt. Juliet about 6:00 Saturday morning just to get in a little extra time. Nothing really planned - just get to Gatlinburg and take it from there. Check in was 1:00. After we took a walk on a nature trail close by to a mountain stream, we went to check in. They still use the old school card and even key! Refreshing! We got a room on the first floor in the 3 story section and the kids were 2 floors up directly above us. Thinking - they're young - they can climb stairs! Well, turns out they have an elevator...oh...and a room with 2 hot tubs! We did not know that and didn't prepare, but next time we will! Who doesn't like bathing with strangers! Walked in the rooms and our first impression was that it reminded us of how the other place was in its heyday. A little dated, but looked and smelled clean. They have done some updating I am guessing in the past few years as everything appeared new, even though it had that 70's vibe - and that is not necessarily bad - we LOVED IT! Our room had appeared to have been carpeted recently as it was in better shape than our kid's room - not to say theirs was bad. It did have flat-screen TV, so I know we weren't in "The Twilight Zone". Two beds, two sinks, a fridge, microwave, table and two chairs. There was a front and back door. View out the back door was...well...a wall. The back walk was covered all the way to the office and vending machines as well as a small covered bridge on the upper floors to the ice and snack machines and coffee maker. If you have a ground level room the you will have a wonderful view - of car headlights - so look up - there is greenery. Visited the kids room and the front view on the 3rd floor is much nicer and it's easier to lob water balloons at passers-by - I'm kidding! Do that and you won't be back, because they won't put up with any type of disruptions that hinder other guests enjoying a quite stay. One tip - if you want a private balcony - you need to request rooms 205, 206, 305 or 306 otherwise you share a balcony with one other room - fine if it's family. I do recommend staying on one of the upper floors if you are staying longer than one or two nights. As stated, they do have an elevator and several of those hotel carts for your luggage. Just try to park close to the elevator end - although if they are busy (as usual) that might be hard. This said - we have finally found our Gatlinburg home away from home. The wife has no desire to ever stay anywhere else - unless it the same fate befalls it that did our other mainstay. Friendly staff, clean, close to The Village and strip - PERFECT! Room Tip: There are only 4 rooms with private balconies - 2 with private patios. read more

This is the third time we stayed at this motel in Gatlinburg. We come back because it has a great location, rates are reasonable and it is clean. It's basic with no frills but we don't spend much time in the room anyway. The staff have always been friendly. Unfortunately, this last time wasn't so great. Housekeeping was very bad. Trash piled up in our room. For some reason, when housekeeping came, they just ignored it. We didn't get any clean towels until the 2nd day. There are no signs to hang on doors requesting housekeeping or saying do not disturb so I'm not sure what their system is but it's ineffective. The front desk staff were also much less friendly than previous stays. I think next time we try somewhere else. read more

Jack Huff is a smaller motel in Gatlinburg. Walking distance to town and off a little side street as you enter into town. This motel is family orientated. Pool is a decent size and very clean along with the pool deck. The property is very well kept up. The employees are extremely friendly, and hospitable. If i had to choose cons, the rooms are older and space is limited. They are old, so don't expect your modern hotel room. Beds were hard, but manageable. Prices are a little higher and they do not offer any discounts other than 10% throughout the year. No discounts in July. For 3 people it cost us $93.00 per night and 11.00 tax. One more con, no laundry facility on site or one that is close by. Is it worth the price? Prob not. But weighing out the conveniences of parking outside your motel room, pool outside other door, friendly staff and closeness to town, I would definitely stay here again. We were hardly in our room all week as we found tons to do in Gatlinburg. read more

The type of experience you desire determines your level of satisfaction. That rule pretty much applies to everything in life, right ? This is a typical motor lodge. Hard, modest beds, low thread count sheets, flat foam pillows. And real keys for the room! We stayed here because we met up with 22 other people and most of them stay here every year. Sliding board at the pool was popular with the kids. I was not a fan of the lathering credit card soap or the fact the room never got cool enough with the A/C cranked. In the morning when I went out to get ice I was greeted by a mama raccoon and her 5 babies rummaging through the trash. So I skipped the ice. Best part of this place is its location. You can leave your car parked in the lot and walk everywhere. And the flowers planted out front are really beautiful. read more

This hotel is not a 5 star resort but is very clean, family friendly, and in an excellent location. We visit Gatlinburg often and this is always the first place we check for reservations. Stayed here for the first time this July. Jack Huffs is an older motel, but well maintained and in a fantastic location. It's on a side street, but close to the main parkway (just behind "The Village"). It has free parking and is close enough to walk to all the attractions. Doors to the room are from the back and the front side has a balcony with chairs. Rooms are basic, but clean. Ours had a great tv, and mini fridge. And free wifi which worked great. No coffee makers are in the room, but free coffee is available to go get in the mornings. The motel has one elevator near the middle of the motel. There is a nice clean outdoor pool, and two indoor whirlpools. Staff was very friendly, and we got a room with 2 queen beds, during peak season for under $100. I have no complaints about that! I'll be back first time I have a chance! read more
