What can you say... it's instantly home. Vern and the team don't make you feel at home or like family. You ARE home and with family. It's so peaceful and relaxing. The views are breathtaking and honestly I can't imagine a more perfect B&B. Apparently, I'm in good company as they have been thriving for decades. The evening desserts are legendary as are the breakfast. We had nanner puddin' one night as thry must have known that was my weakness. They also made some delicious cranberry cookies that everyone was devouring. There was also a apple cake that was exceptional. For breakfast we had a delightful soufflé one morning and Lisa's famous PB&J drizzled french toast the other. It was rich, tasty and looked like art! The walls are covered in Vern's art along with a section on the 2nd floor by Woods, Vern's son. Our family owns numerous pieces from Vern's collection and love finding the hidden fairies in his pieces. Finally the rooms. We absolutely LOVED our room! They are all beautifully appointed with a wonderful king sized bed, jacuzzi bathtub, fire place, A/C and monstrous balcony with swings and rocking chairs. If there's any question, it's the balcony that sets this place apart from the rest of the world. The view is exceptional and they know it. It's the perfect set up for a relaxing night listening to natures sounds, watching the smoke hide and uncover the mountains and relaxing with a cup of coffee. What makes Hippensteal so special: - The view - The house - The food - The people (Vern, his amazing team and the great folks you'll meet who are also staying at the inn).

My husband and I took a weekend getaway with our 8y/o son to this amazing B&B. The place was very well kept and everything (including the view) was beautiful. Very clean! The breakfast was the best I have ever eat and they even catered to my son making him hot chocolate and pancakes. They have a fresh dessert made for you in the kitchen after you come in from dinner each night. They make you feel like family, and you hate to leave when it's time to go. This was our first stay at Hippensteal's, but I hope it is not the last! I cannot wait to book our next visit here!

French toast is truly unique and expertly made like everything at Hippensteal's!

We spent 4 nights at Hippensteal's in late November 2018. We were amazed by the accommodations, the food and the staff. We went to Hippensteal's to complete our first marriage retreat and to celebrate our 30th anniversary. (The retreat material was from Marriage Today if you want to know more.) The staff expertly handled any of our requests. Vern was just a joy to speak with and was so knowledgeable about the Smokies. Cannot wait to schedule a return trip next year! You will not regret a decision to spend some time at Hippensteal's Mountain View Inn. Our stay was truly amazing!

Gorgeous rooms, stunning views (no matter which room), 5 star food and service. Every single detail is elegant. Only a few miles from downtown Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, but feels like you're on your own private mountain. I cannot recommend this B&B enough.

View from the porch. We stayed in Summer's Lace.

Quaint, beautiful, and simply amazing! The owners Lisa and Vern are so welcoming and make each guest feel special. We were most recently there for our 10th year anniversary. It's where we had spent our first night after our wedding. We keep asking ourselves why did it take so long to come back. We won't take as long for our next stay!!

We have stayed at a LOT of B&Bs, and I am not exaggerating when I say that this was the absolute best experience we've ever had. I made the reservation over the phone with George a couple of months before our trip - he recommended the Catalooche room, which was lovely! The room was always kept very clean and was extremely comfortable. The B&B has the look/feel of a log cabin, but with all the modern amenities! When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Anita, who gave us some of her delicious peach tea (omg the BEST). She then recommended we head over to Hungry Bear BBQ for dinner - a low key, local joint which we LOVED and returned to twice during our stay. She also provided us with a book of trails so we could plan our activities, which proved very helpful for determining which hikes to choose as there are so many in the mountains. Anita and George were very friendly and warm, and made us feel at home right away. Anita bakes a dessert every evening that guests can enjoy after returning back from dinner. Her peach cobbler was the BEST I have ever tasted. They always provide refreshments throughout the day, whenever we stopped back in between or after hikes. The breakfast items they prepared were classic family recipes, and very delicious. They serve them hot & plated, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband and I have agreed that we will make it a yearly tradition to go back to the Smoky Mountains, and stay with Anita & George at the Quail Ridge B&B. Highly recommend!!!

This bed and breakfast is dangerously cozy. Like, "accidentally quit your job and live here…read moreforever" cozy. The bed? So comfortable I briefly suspected it was stuffed with marshmallows and angel feathers. I lay down "just for a minute" and woke up emotionally healed. But let's talk about the real reason I'd sell my soul and possibly a family heirloom to return: the nightly dessert. Every evening, like clockwork, a homemade dessert magically appears -- as if summoned by a pastry fairy. One night it was chocolate cake that made me question every life choice that led me to boxed brownie mix. Another night? Lemon creme cookie so rich I'm surprised it didn't ask me for investment advice. Would I stay here again? Yes. Would I fake a flat tire to stay an extra night and get more dessert? Also yes

We were greeted by one of the managers when we arrived who made us feel welcome. While there is not daily housekeeping, we had more than enough towels (and coffee pods!) for our three night stay. There was a fire through this area back in 2016. There is no sign of the fire in the remaining lodge building. Off to the side, up a hill, are the foundations of former their lodge buildings and restaurant. The view to the south includes some burned trees in the distance, but I found that it didn't take away from the ambiance. Due to the fire, the does lodge have a more remote feeling due to the lack of telephone, cable, or internet. We didn't miss any of these, and we had reasonable cell phone reception. I look forward to seeing the lodge thrive again and wish the owners the best in their continued renewal.

It's unfortunate what happened with the fires back in 2016 but the business keeps on pushing through. They still have a decent amount of amenities even without the other spaces they had offered before the fires. The rooms are a decent size, especially for two people. They offer a full sized kitchen which was nice so we didn't have to eat out every night. The balcony is cute & have great views of mt leconte. The bed was comfy & everything was clean. They had plush robes in the closet which were super comfy & great to put on after a hot bath in the spa tub in the bathroom. They also maintain hiking trails right by the lodge & they had a nice set up by the creek, there was a bathroom down there & a fire pit and lots of chairs set up. The lodge is only a mile up the road from downtown & the national park entrance so it's in close proximity to alot of great things. The only issue we ran into was not enough parking but we made it work. Overall had a great experience here & would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic Stay at The Greystone Lodge on The River…read more We arrived just before midnight and were immediately impressed by the warm welcome from the front desk staff. The lady who checked us in addressed me by my full name even before I had a chance to give her my ID--such a thoughtful and personal touch. She and her colleague were friendly, welcoming, and made us feel at ease on a chilly Gatlinburg night. It was already dark when we arrived, so we didn't realize just how close we were to the Smoky Mountains, in fact we were actually on the mountains. The winding roads leading to the hotel didn't seem particularly uphill, but the location is absolutely perfect. The lodge sits right in the river in the heart of Gatlinburg, offering easy access to a wide range of attractions. Whether you're up for a cold walk in December or prefer to drive, there's plenty to explore within walking distance. The guest room was cozy, warm, and perfectly maintained. While the bathroom was a bit smaller than most hotel bathrooms, it was still functional and clean. Overall, the hotel was well-kept, with immaculate hallways and rooms, which made a great impression. The wood accents on the hallways even in the electrical panels are intentionally and add character. One of the highlights of our stay was the balcony that offered a lovely view of the river. It was such a peaceful spot to enjoy the scenery, especially with the backdrop of the mountains. Ample parking space for all guests and it looked secured, just make sure not to leave any food items in your car especially overnight to avoid hungry bears rummaging over it. If I had to offer any critique, it would be the breakfast. It wasn't extraordinary, it's not bad, but honestly, there are several great pancake houses and breakfast spots nearby--just be ready to face long line in the early morning cold! Still, with so many good options just a short walk away, it wasn't a deal-breaker for us. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would absolutely choose The Greystone Lodge in The River again. We'll surely want to visit Gatlinburg in spring or fall and still stay here. The location is unbeatable, the staff is exceptional, and the hotel is clean and well-maintained. It's definitely our top choice for lodging in Gatlinburg!

Wowowowow, where do I start?!…read more Pigeon Forge is a mountainous Vegas-like touristy town. There are tons of hotels, some are great and others...not so much. Those great hotels are often going to cost a pretty penny while those more affordable ones are going to be a bit rough around the edges. So where can you stay in Pigeon Forge that isn't going to hurt the bank account while giving you a relaxing stay? Well look no further...Twin Mountain Inn & Suites is excellent AND affordable! I'm a Hotels member and when I saw Twin Mountain Inn and Suites' 5 star reviews, I was curious, especially because at the time, the rates were about $97/night AND pets are only $20/night. Not only that, the room had a river view with a balcony, fireplace, and free parking. Now, I've kept this hotel on the backburner on my account. Last time we visited Pigeon Forge, we stayed at Drury and spent so much more on a "Mountain View" that overlooked the parking structure. So, this time, I decided to go with my instinct and book with Twin Mountain. Boy, am I glad we did!! We stayed on the third floor. Don't let the cover of a book fool you. The parking is easy but can get full pretty quickly, true. However, the room was probably on of the cleanest hotel rooms we've ever stayed in. The beds were comfortable. The shower was hot and had good water pressure (albeit, no conditioner or body wash-just a small packaged bar of soap. There were two small bottles of shampoo). There's a microwave and mini fridge in the room. I also liked that there were two sinks, one in the bathroom and one just outside of it (vanity). This was convenient for two people. The AC/heater was powerful, too. The fireplace is timed and creates a cozy atmosphere. The balcony overlooking the river was peaceful and there were two plastic chairs and a little table out there to sit and enjoy the view of ducks and geese. Twin Mountain Inn and Suites is close to the strip but away from the flashing lights and noise. It's a great location! Breakfast is included and had biscuits and gravy, eggs, yogurt, sausage, fruit, cereal, and one waffle maker. There's fresh coffee and a juice machine, too. It was a tight squeeze as it was very busy for 7:30am so I decided to get one biscuit and gravy, two sausages, and a yogurt to take back to the room, which were all very good. There's a drink vending machine outside of the lobby and one near the parking lot. The elevator was convenient and they also had luggage trolleys, too. This was an outstanding stay for one night and I wish it had been longer. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend staying with Twin Mountain Inn & Suites for your next stay in Pigeon Forge.

Oh, food options were good, literally one of the best breakfast buffets. I've been to at a hotel, however, if you got there at 8:30 or beyond, good luck in the buffet hunger games. I will add the bar staff were exceptional, and the complementary happy hour is a solid win. The challenges are that the service is actually not great for being such a young hotel. Room service was abysmal, I'll touch a picture of a "made bed". They apparently don't automatically clean the room, you have to ask them for a full clean, which is very odd considering most hotels you have to ask them to not clean the room. At the pool, there was a situation where a child threw up, I notified maintenance, who then came back and said nope, the front desk said he couldn't report it, a guest had to report it, therefore the vomit stayed for another 35 minutes, even though we wiped it as best as we could (not our child). Our toilet was broken for the duration of our six nights. Additionally, they were shortstaffed. So you could tell the front desk didn't have rotation, there weren't people walking around, checking to make sure everything was clean and ready. To be fair it could've been the fact that this was the busiest they've been all season, but as a major hotel, it feels like you should be equipped and prepared. I would also add that the trolleys were lacking, and it took us a long time to get one to be able to bring our belongings in.
