Drive the extra few miles to Wells Road because they pay attention better. There must have been like 5 workers back there and I ordered two items...that's right, TWO! And then they got one of the two items wrong..... Ordered a nacho monster taco and they gave me a regular taco. When I went to the front to inquire about the mistake, they didn't apologize, they trashed the taco I had instead of offering me the right one, and started rolling their eyes and whispering. In keeping with my "best burrito" hunt, I have to submit a review for Jack's version because it exists. It wasn't my intention for the first breakfast burrito review in Santa Paula to be from JITB, but it ended up that way after stopping by the drive thru after a night of tasty beverages. Eating fast food chain meals isn't a regular occurrence but it's always interesting to stop by and see what these places are up to. The last time I had a breakfast burreet from Jack was years ago and it was kinda pathetic. This new grande sausage version is a step up from the previous one I had. Essentially, it tastes like JITB wrapped in a tortilla. All the chains have their own distinct flavor to their food and that's what I literally said after the first bite, "This tastes like Jack in the Box." On the nostalgia aspect, that isn't bad; on the guilty conscience aspect...it may have you in arms reach of the tums. The food was hot and the hash browns and sauce bring joy to the gullet. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall flavor of the burrito. I'll toss it a 3 out 5 chingons on the burrito scale. We all know what Jack is all about; tis what tis! I don't spend enough time inside these joints, though, to comment on anything else but the food I order and take home. They've been serving the 24 hour market for years, so you know they'll always be there for you in a pinch...if you must. ;) read more
