This is the third time I've ordered food to go, and every single time it has been absolutely delicious. The carne asada is especially good--juicy, flavorful, and high quality. I'm pretty picky when it comes to meat and don't like fatty, chewy pieces, but everything I've had here has been consistently excellent. I love the carne asada burrito, and the beans are so flavorful. Their mild salsa is also a favorite--so good! Next time, I definitely want to dine in and try one of their margaritas. The entrees did not disappoint! What did disappoint, besides the terrible service this visit, was their chips. They were served VERY WELL done. My guest asked one young girl if we could get another serving of them, and she replied, "No. They are all like that." Rather an odd reply. Then, a bit later my guest asked another (different) employee if we could get fresh chips and she also replied, "No." It was weird. Really weird. Talk about real deal aunthentic Mexican food. After asking for recommendations on places to eat, I was referred here and it is defenitly one of the best Mexican food spots I've ever eatin at. Located right across from the post office, you have plenty of parking on the street or on the lot across the street. Each time I have came by they have customers dining but never too busy. I've placed my orders to go and typically takes 10-20 minutes. I've tried a few things but for sure the caldo the res is the winner for me. All their caldos are good but the res just has that extra depth of flavor. Servings are huge and the price is fair. Their corn tortillas are hands down some of the best homemade tortillas I have ever had. This is what sets this place apart from all this other Mexican resteraunts. We ended up here when Chapala was closed right after the new year. Clearly other people had the same problem as the restaurant was packed. The service was very slow, only 2 waitresses for the whole restaurant but they were very nice. It's not that quiet in the restaurant and when they speak softly it's hard to hear them. The food was mediocre at best. The chips were like crispy cardboard, but the salsa was tasty but watery. The enchiladas were fairly decent but the taco also had a crispy cardboard shell and was loaded with sour cream which I can't eat being lactose intolerant. I don't think the menu said it had sour cream on it. the chili relleno was the worst I've ever been served. The chili was like shoe leather (when it should have been extremely soft) and the cheese was like a block of rubber. The beans were good, but the rice was pale and bland. I just don't think there's any excuse for there to be mediocre Mexican food in this region. read more

The food is a 3 but the service is a 5, so I averaged it out to a 4. Came here with the fam after mass and the place was popping. We got seated after checking in with the back counter, and the waitress was quick to take our order. We split some carne asada fries and supreme nachos among the four of us, and my dad also got a couple of tacos. He was pleasantly surprised by the amount of meat he had on the tacos, and they're well-priced at $1.75 each. We were disappointed by the supreme nachos, which we ordered with al pastor. It was dry and the meat wasn't as flavorful as we'd hoped. It had cotija cheese and retried beans along with some lettuce (we asked for no sour cream). The tortilla chips themselves good and they give you free chips and salsa too, but the nachos weren't that tasty. The carne asada fries were relatively better but also still not the best. The fries were thick cut and also was a bit dry. It's a good option for a sit down restaurant with friendly service, but just know that the food leaves a bit to be desired.
