I recently had my engine oil changed. Shortly after that I backed up in my yard, in a driving rain. I heard a scraping noise, I looked under my Honda Insight to find this engine cover wadded up under my car. The car is 4.5 inches off the ground so I had to beat the aluminum cover out from under the car in order to move it. Come to find out, the mechanics have to remove this cover to change the oil??? So it only makes sense they did not put it back on correctly. I'm sure they will want me to pay for another one. Their fault........ read more

We had a great experience buying the car, but the service department was lacking. I called because the seal on the sunroof is cracked from the hail storm. The receptionist (after talking to a service advisor) said it would be $120 to diagnose the issue. When I told her I knew the issues, she was quick to say she was just a receptionist. I wasn't arguing or anything - I just told her I knew the issue. I don't know why we would pay $120 to find out something I can look at and see what's wrong. After clarifying the $120 wouldn't go toward fixing it, I let her know we'd just go to another shop. She literally cared none. read more

12 days to diagnose motor mounts!?!? After dropping off my car I heard nothing from JOD for 10 days. Nothing. No one called to ask questions, no one called to advise of status, no one called to apologize for the delay, no one called to ask what the previous shop had done and perhaps request to contact that shop. Nothing. On the 10th day I called for status. There was nothing. It was two more days before they contacted me to say they diagnosed motor mounts. I advised that I had replaced motor mounts just 4-5 years ago AND the shop that had the car prior to JOD had it for two weeks and tried everything (including motor mounts), and were perplexed and unable to determine the issue, yet JOD insisted motor mounts needed replacing. The shop that replaced the motor mounts previously took approximately 30 minutes to make that diagnosis. I believe JOD chose to diagnose something vs. nothing and now accuse me of not trusting them and will charge for further diagnosis. I choose to go elsewhere. read more

I am very torn about writing this review, but here goes. I bought a used Honda and had to replace some parts. They were very helpful over the phone ordering the parts and let me know on time when the parts came in. In person service was great also. Five stars for that. What irks me to no end though is when you call and are forced to leave a voice message and their greeting states that they would "return your call as soon as possible" and they NEVER do. This happened every time I called the service department. The first time it happened, I called twice and left messages without ever hearing back We are talking about a coupe of days between calls. Then I decided to use the Contact Us link on the website and received a call back within a couple of hours. I wrote that off as an anomaly - maybe phones were down or messages did not go through. Well, it happened again. A week ago I called and had to leave a message, which I did. Never heard back. Today I decided to call again and was directed to voicemail. Nope, not doing it again, so I just kept calling until someone answered. Once they do answer, they are always very nice and helpful. Are they perhaps just not paying attention to the voice messages?? If not, please remove the voicemail feature completely and rather direct people to your website or have them keep calling until someone answers. read more

I can not imagine a better car buying experience than I received from Jack O Diamonds Honda. After poor experiences with some of my Houston area Honda dealerships, and the others not having the car my wife wanted, I began submitting inquiries online to dealerships across the state. James with JOD Honda was the very first salesman to call me Monday morning and absolutely shocked me by sharing the full cost breakdown of the exact car I wanted, up front and honestly. He explained that JOD does not add 2-4 thousand dollars of "mArKeT aDjUsTmEnTs" like other dealerships, and adds one concise dealership add-on package to all of their cars and I could appreciate the products included in that package and the cost did not seem ridiculous. I was able to discuss the deal in great detail, submit a deposit to hold the vehicle, and then make the 4 hour drive into town the next day to sign paperwork and leave with my vehicle. It was incredibly simple, and honest. James did an amazing job filming our vehicle for my wife and I to see before agreeing to buy, and also a full bumper to bumper orientation to the vehicle before we signed any contracts. If we ever find ourselves in the market for another Honda, i will absolutely choose to travel 4 hours again just to deal with JOD Honda. read more

At 7k miles low tire indicator on. They said just needed air in all tires. Week later same issue. Local tire place found a screw in one of tires. At 16k miles scheduled a recall appointment. Went in and 4 hours later they had not touched my car. Was told they were still training techs on how to do the job. May be 2 to 3 more hours to get to my car. I could get a loaner for $100 for a day. Horrible, horrible place. Owners reply is total BS. I leased the HRV, have the records, made an appointment for the recall so the work should have been done. I asked about a loaner car when I made the appointment and was told by the service dept that they don't give loaners out for that work. After waiting 4+ hours, a woman from your service dept approached me with a form she wanted me to sign that stated it would be at least $100 if I were to take a car home since they had no idea when they could honor the appointment. Even though I paid extra to have a service contract with my lease, I never took my car back to your dealership since I couldn't trust them. I never thought this would happen in this day and time. Before I speak on this car/ HONDA dealership. I would like to say that their way of fixing this problem was having me drive from Dallas to Tyler Texas 1 hour and 34 minutes of my miles, gas, and time for something that was clearly done on purpose. The salesperson is named (SAM) and he went as far as calling me a liar when I said I asked him if the rim job was done professionally. They didn't even take the rims off to paint them. Because you could see paint on my brakes. He actually said he did me right. Thank God I believe in helping people because this is just robbery. I could not be happier with my car purchase and the staff here are just great. I had already reviewed them before for service on my older Honda In the past. My mom bought a new Honda from them back in the 1980's. That car ran forever. They stayed after hours so I could pick up my car after I got off work. I saw a sign that said JOD dog park in their used car sales office, but didn't have my dog with me. I may have to check that out later with my Shih Tzu. After searching inventory from Dallas to Waco to Tyler, we finally decided to try Jack O Diamonds in Tyler to test out a few cars. Our salesman, Doug, was super helpful and so sweet! He was patient while we were indecisive. Ultimately, we found a vehicle we love. 2 days after leaving the lot, the check engine light came on. I called Doug, Caleb (the manager), and their service department and they were amazing. They set us up with a certified Nissan dealership and offered to pay for it without any hassle at all. When we came back (we live an hour and a half away), the Nissan dealership (who were also very nice) said it would be a wait if several hours. Doug and Caleb arranged for us to have a rental car for the day while we waited. We would definitely buy from them again in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone! read more

I purchased a vehicle from this dealership on June 30th, 2017. I am going to start out this review with the positives: My salesman James C., Ernest (and his bearded coworker - sorry I did not get your name), and DJ the finance manager. These men handled themselves with dignity and professionalism. My entire experience with my salesman was very positive from start to finish. If I could rate these men alone they would get 5 of 5. I was referring individuals to this dealership due to my interactions and experience with James, before they decided to attempt to not honor an agreement. The negatives: The amount of trouble I had to get this dealership, specifically the general manager, to honor an agreement. Jack O'Diamonds accepted my deposit in May, signed car info and MSRP agreement, and took copies of documentation from me so we would be ready to get the purchase going when the car arrived (ID, Social, Insurance, finance info). Communications with this dealership made every indication the purchase would be made upon arrival. On the last day of the car's ETA I am told that the manager regrets the MSRP agreement and decided to hold the car for a minimum of 90 days (confirmed by a call I made to the sales manager) to draw customers in to get their moneys worth. I was not informed of this until June 28th (the last day of my ETA). I was told the transport truck with the car arrived, but left without delivering it. I never claimed they had it, just that they rescinded their agreement to sell it to me when it DID arrive. I have seen claims that I should have talked to the dealership before I posted a video. I confirmed the 90 day hold situation with both my salesman and the sales manager as soon as I was informed and before the video discussing my experience was ever created. I intentionally stayed away from posting any reviews or encouraging individuals to do so, even though it appeared employees were attempting to bait me into posting in the review section by calling me out in their reviews. What other people do with information given is not under my control. When the Jalopnik article discussing this situation was posted I was not contacted by the author, who made a couple of incorrect assumptions based off of what other individuals misinterpreted. I saw some errors and immediately posted a clarification (not a retraction) on Facebook publicly, the article comments itself, and emailed the author directly. The dealership has continually addressed issues that I did not claim and ignored the actual issues. In a meeting that my salesman was not allowed in, even though we requested him, the GM stated he was at fault for this situation, but he was still going to keep the car in the show room. He has on multiple occasions stated if my experience wasn't positive I wouldn't have an experience with them at all. I have these claims documented. In every interaction the GM threatened to give me my deposit back if I didn't have a positive experience and stop "lying" or attempted to convince me to take my deposit back. Throughout all of this they called it my car, but would not back anything up with writing (since my documents for my initial deposit before they changed their minds about the agreement). The personal and unprofessional level this dealership took this to. I received after-hours phone calls from the GM to accuse, manipulate, and vent at me (when he was off work). Employees of the dealership messaged my friends on Facebook to speak negatively of me and call me a liar. Employees who are not friendly towards me attempted to "friend" me on Facebook. The environment of the dealership when they changed their mind (due to the negative feedback they were receiving) and allowed to purchase the car. I was not assisted until I texted the GM I had arrived, even though many workers were clearly not busy as they spent their time pacing around us and glaring. Which is unlike the experience my friend had coming in to meet me there. He walked through the doors and was immediately greeted by a nearby salesman. I have these claims documented and witnesses to this. The bottom line is: dealer's remorse is not the customer's responsibility. The agreement was honored not because of the integrity of the dealership, but because they got called out. There was time before the backlash got out of control to make this right. Yes I have my car now, but I am not a satisfied customer. However, I stuck to my agreement and bought the car upon arrival at MSRP. read more

My TJC college student daughter had her car towed here for service. Paula, in the service department was so great. I am in the Dallas area and she took care of my daughter as if she was her own. She was in constant contact with me and went above and beyond to provide exemplary service. We were dealing with a dishonest towing company there in Tyler and she stood up for her employer (the dealership) and my daughter and I to get that issue resolved. Probably, every car dealer is pretty much the same...but this time I have to write. Went in, found the car we wanted on the lot. Had advertised deals I was satisfied with from other dealers in DFW with me. I demanded that the price match the advertised from DFW and I'd take it. Salesman agreed, wrote the price down on his card along with the stock number and handed it to me. We left for lunch, returned to buy, and the sales manager took us to his desk. First he disputed the price. I showed him the card. He made a big show of paging the salesman and looking angry. Salesman was (poof!) nowhere to be found. Lots of fake angry shouting ensued. The guy was a bad, bad actor. it was funny, then sad, then insulting. I told him so. That made him mad. I have to say, most dealerships, when they attempt to screw you, at least try to fool you in some reasonable way, with fake charges or small print...these guys are stuck in the 60's or 70's with their weird play-acting. It's like a parody of car salesmen. Like I said, who knows what really goes on behind the scenes in these places, but at least this one is really unpleasant and we'll be avoiding it...and it gives me second thoughts about owning a Honda in Tyler, Tx. Have never needed a repair BUT took my Fit in with a vague but unsettling sound coming from under the front passenger side tire, just what I'm sure a mechanic wants to hear, right ? Long story short, I got a call later that afternoon and a problem was indeed found, a new part ordered and 2 days later little car was fixed and even better, repair was covered under warranty! I'll be back in a month or so, taking the Accord in for an oil change and tire rotation. This is the only place I take both cars because service is always done promptly and professionally. On 11-09-2017 we took our 2007 Honda Element SC to Jack of Diamonds Honda in Tyler Texas for the Takata airbag recall, and to have a new key cut/programed. We have not been driving our Honda Element much since purchasing a 2017 Honda Civic since the Element is now an extra vehicle for. The Element had been parked for over two weeks prior going for the recall service. When we got our Honda Element back ten hours later on the same day 11-9-2017, the front windshield was shattered at the upper right corner. Jack of Diamonds Honda never informed us any damage had occurred, or as they say "showed up," while in their possession. We contacted Mr. Hilton, the service manager, regarding the damage that was done to the windshield while in the care of his service department. He stated the shattered windshield was from a prior rock chip, but would review his surveillance cameras to ensure the damage was not done while at his dealership. He then called back stating he spoke to his driver, and the driver "noted a crack on the driver side of the windshield." When informed there is not a crack on the driver's side windshield, he stated "then the driver must have meant the passenger side." Although it is possible for a crack to develop from a previous rock chip, it is not probable that a chip will shatter into over 12 cracks in less than 10 hours. It is even less probable given none of the other 5 chips that are on the window have ever developed a single crack. Any rock chips in the windshield are not new, since the car had not been driven in over two weeks, and no rock chips occurred on the way to the dealership on city roads in town. If the shattered windshield was something that just appeared while at the dealership, they should have been honest enough to inform us of the occurrence and let us know it was not their doing. Why hide the damage? And if the damage was not intended to be hidden, then how were they so inattentive to not realize it was there? As a resolution Mr. Hilton offered to replace the windshield at his cost if we paid for half of the expense. He stated we should pay for half of the repair since there were prior rock chips on the windshield. The previous chips in the windshield did not affect visibility, or the ability to pass a yearly Texas vehicle inspection. The shattered windshield will not pass a Texas vehicle inspection, and now requires replacement. We ended up informing Mr. Hilton replacing the windshield is not a matter of finances, since we can afford to replace the windshield without his help, but it is a matter of principle to repair what is broken while in the position of his service department. He was unwilling to do what is right, and we paid for the windshield ourselves, rather than have his conscience consider the matter resolved. They also left my radio in theft mode, and I had to find the code online and enter it myself. read more

A while back, this dealer provided me with a new CR-V off their lot to drive as a loaner while I was waiting on parts for my Ridgeline - even though I had never done business with them before. Due to this courtesy, I decided to submit an offer to them when I got ready for my next vehicle. They accepted the offer with no haggling and had most of the paperwork ready for me to sign when I arrived. There is really no such thing as an honest, fair, and trustworthy car dealership, but Jack O' Diamonds is one of the lessor of the evils. If you're in the East Texas area, I recommend putting these guys on your shopping list. They did me right, but I've bought a lot of cars over the years and have a lot of experience with dealerships and their employees - and the people I dealt with here were well aware of that. read more
